I was annoyed but understanding plus the manager told me he would switch us for the same rate. So I called To get switched and they would always promise me a call back wouldn't call me back. This seriously went on for two weeks! So then I started calling other locations and asking if we could switch to their location one after another the same thing would happen where they would promise me a manager would call me back and I would never get a callback. That's when I realize this place was a complete and utter scam. It took me leaving a Facebook post and canceling my credit card to prevent them from charging me to get them to finally reach out to me where they offered me a free month of private lessons. We went to the first one and it was such a joke. The guy was literally just showing my son how to splash, swirled him around a little and called it a day. This was supposedly their swim instructor with the most experience. We've had lessons at other schools that Have been more more intensive for better price.

Price is reasonable, staff is amazing, and their transparent religious identity is on display but not forced on patrons. As a non-Christian patron, I worried about uncomfortable situations or questions, but TWIGS is welcoming to everyone, just upfront about it's company values. I 100% appreciate that approach! They also have inexpensive snacks and drinks available for purchase in the lobby if your schedule gets tight and someone needs a snack. There is a 2nd floor lounge with windows that gives parents and siblings a fantastic view of the kids who are training in the gym or the pool. Love this feature! They had an event credit on our account for 3 years from when we had to cancel a special event enrollment back before he enrolled in classes. Can't recommend this business enough. I had forgotten it but they brought up and honored the credit-- what other business would do that? Our kid is thriving with their instruction.

Originally, one of the biggest perks of the Cincy Y membership was that it allowed you to use all Cincinnati branches. Now, you can go to any Ohio YMCA with your membership! Way to go! I know the membership pricing varies based on economic conditions, and while the Y certainly isn't the cheapest option, I will say they offer a lot of bang for your buck if you are willing to take advantage. Pools and saunas at most locations, fitness classes offered at all of them and at varying times, ActiveTrax to customize your fitness regime, weight rooms, workout facilities, personal coaching, and various free training programs from weight loss to competitive running to healthy eating make the YMCA not just a weight room, but a comprehensive facility for better living. I will say that while the Y offers a wonderful program for synchronized and competitive swimming, it wreaks havoc on the pool availability schedule. During the school year, expect the pool to be occupied whenever the children can be there. Even with 3 pools available at the Powel Crosley, it is difficult to discern from the schedule when the pool is open to the public. The good news? You can always call and talk to a human being.

Amy contacted me personally soon after I had applied for the scholarship & got me enrolled & ready to go. Our first time there we were greeted with smiles & our goodie bags. The place is very clean & kid friendly. All the staff is very kind. Everyone I encountered there was good with the kids, cared about the kids & seemed to love their job. Ryanne kept a good eye on my middle child as he is extremely ornery & squirmy. She was awesome with my kids! I can't say enough about Amy, she's a wonderful lady! She interacts with everyone & calls the kids by their names. She walks the edge of the pool checking on everyone & all the things, during lessons. She talked to my boys after every lesson & even teared up on our last one. She gave my boys big hugs telling them she hopes to see them soon. The scholarship that they offer is such a blessing. We wouldn't have been able to afford lessons other wise. My middle child has nearly drowned twice, and now after his lessons I feel he could make his way out of a pool on his own if need be. I highly recommend Goldfish of Dayton!! These lessons are core memories for my kids for life!! 4/30/24

Teachers are friendly and make the lessons fun for kids! The issue I have are the following: 1. The teacher / pool manager doesn't pay attention to each student's progress. If you don't voice your concern, your child will likely stay at the same level for an extensive period. I'd suggest a real progress check/test every month for each kid to see if the individual is ready to move to the next level. 2. The front office is often rude. There is a lady who normally works on Sun, you get the feeling that she didn't want to be there... Her answers often ended with "I cannot help you" or "I cannot predict the future". We have decided to call for help during the week to seek help in order to avoid the lack of customer service... These are not major issues and should be an easy fix! I will start looking at other swim lesson facilities if no improvements made in the coming month. I have changed my review from 3 to 4 star as it has clearly improved on issue #1 since my review! Thanks for making the needed improvement!

When I raised concerns, I felt I was treated rudely and aggressively rather than listened to and respected. Instructors change frequently, which affects consistency and makes it difficult for kids to properly learn, there seems to be more emphasis on keeping students at the same level than on actively helping them progress, which has left me questioning whether the focus is more on revenue than student development. Based on our experience, I would strongly advise families to consider other options before signing up.
