Fire Restoration Services…read more I had a small kitchen fire and wanted to procure fire restoration services to take care of any soot and smoke damage. Any visible damage was mostly contained within kitchen area. I looked up local companies on Yelp and decided to get a free quote from Independent Restoration Services. They came out the next day to check out the place, provided a quote within a few hours, and were then able to start the next day after obtaining work authorization. I placed my trust in them based on their reviews across Yelp, Google, and FB. At first I was a bet skeptical due to only one person making it out on the first day, which was due to a combination of scheduling issues , others being called onto different sites/projects, and overall just being a small team. But in the end they still finished on schedule as initially estimated, despite having less manpower than I had expected. They were thorough with the restoration - my place was just as clean as before, and in some places even cleaner. They kept me assured throughout the whole process and answered any questions and concerns I had. There was a misunderstanding on my end where I thought they would also clean the air ducts, but since that is not something they provide, they offered to go 50/50 on subcontracting a duct cleaner. And at the end, they agreed the initial quoted estimated cost seemed a bit too high, so they were willing to adjust the final bill downwards. Overall they provided quality cleaning and restoration services, were flexible to work with, and did not seem like they were out to get my money. I hope I'll never need them again, but I can recommend them for anyone who needs fire restoration services. Thank you Charlie, Miguel, Brandon, Billy, Batt/Edgar, and Christoph.

David also repaired the bathroom faucet angle shutoff valves that were incorrectly installed by an unlicensed handyman that has caused over $20K of water damage due to failure to check for water leaks after they turned the main water back on; and the faucets leaked in the 2nd floor master and guest bathrooms causing major damage. Ultimately: a $275 leak detection (covered by $250 LVVWD voucher), $555 repair on a pipe that had never shown signs of leaking before, a totally different diagnosis on the next visit, and weeks of being ignored. Please go anywhere else for your plumbing/pool needs. I found this company through the Las Vegas Valley Water District/Southern Nevada Water Authority leak-detection program because my spa kept losing water. At first I thought the pool was losing water too, but it turned out that was just the spa draining into the pool and the pool refilling. The real issue was the spa losing water through the switch valve. The first visit, I wasn't standing over the technician the whole time; I always give people room to do their job. When she finished, she showed me water coming from the bottom of a pipe and said, "Here's your leak to your pool." I believed her, no reason not to. Later I noticed she'd actually replaced a PVC elbow, which confused me since the water she'd shown me wasn't coming from the elbow itself. I paid $555 thinking the problem was solved. That elbow had been sitting there for months with zero signs of leaking. The spa kept draining anyway. Also, there was never a leak in the pool. The owner confirmed this later on the last visit. About a week and a half later, they came back, and this time the owner showed up with the technician. Now the story changed completely: the actual problem was the switch valve/flapper, which had been glued badly by someone else a year earlier. It was clear that was the problem, a totally different issue from what I'd already paid to fix. At this point, I started questioning what happened on that first visit. The owner told me I needed a whole new switch valve. The technician pulled me aside separately and said she did not think I needed one, that she'd cleaned the glue, and that he was overselling me. Between that and already being out $555 for nothing, I said no to more work right then. I called later to get it fixed and spent about a week just trying to get someone on the phone, always "Gladys will call you back." When I finally got her a week later, she didn't seem to know what was going on, said she'd book it and order the part. Got a quote about a week after that, scheduled again, all while the spa's still draining. That appt got cancelled, wrong part ordered, could I do the next day instead? My problem was I kept having to be the one calling to find out if anyone was actually coming. The previous appt, we had an 8 to 12 window, no show, I had to call at noon to ask "are you coming?" They said yes, just busy. I lost a lot of time sitting around for that. They did that the following appt as well. I asked them to just please text me when they were coming. When they finally came back, it was just the owner. He sanded down glue inside the existing valve and said that would do it (the appt was supposed to be for the actual part replacement I'd been quoted). He said the flapper could be replaced. I said I had already replaced the flapper/lid myself in between waiting for them. He said hopefully the sanding would fix it, and he wouldn't charge me for sanding. He also asked me, did the tech check for a leak in both areas- I told him I wasn't sure, I'd hope so? I'm not familiar with their equipment to know. Asking me this also felt concerning. Before he left, I pointed out the water was already dropping and asked if this was what he meant. He said that was normal, that it'd go down a lot if it was not working. I stressed that I was worried I wouldn't be able to get help for another week since their communication with me hadn't been going very well. He assured me I would not be "waiting another week." The spa started draining almost immediately. I called the next day; they said the owner would call me back. I called again days later, same thing again. This time I asked directly if I'd hear back that day, that it's okay if I didn't, I just wanted to be informed. They said 10 min. That also didn't happen. (I thought the owner's name was Jesse, that was what was confirmed by Gladys, but I see someone named Joe is replying. I don't know and either way it doesn't change anything)**

The buyers raised a concern about a water stain on the garage ceiling. After notifying the appropriate parties (Travelers and American Home Shield), we had both PuroClean and Advanced Home Services come out. Thankfully, both confirmed there were no active leaks, and we were good to move forward with drywall repairs. Even after involving both sets of realtors, the buyers started to get cold feet, expressing concerns about potential mold. This is despite their home inspection confirming there was no mold on the report (something we found out from our realtor). I searched "mold inspection" here on Yelp and found this company. I called to ask about pricing and availability and was pleasantly surprised. Despite some unfortunate setbacks, scheduling became an issue; however, that was able to resolved. Oliver came by while there was still a 4x4 hole in our garage ceiling. He did a thorough inspection of the plumbing. The result? No mold. And even better, no charge. Thanks to Mold Eliminators / Construction by Mirage, we were able to keep the process moving. Huge relief and excellent service.
