I've worked in the area for ages, but we don't often venture beyond our favourite pubs, so it was actually another friend working in the City who suggested coming for Happy Hour on a Monday. Apparently from Monday to Wednesday, Happy Hour goes until 10 pm! The venue is fairly dark and clubby, and it's a massive place so it was pretty much empty on a Monday. Their Happy Hour deal is half price martinis, dirty dozen cocktails, and bottles of wine, £10 off Prosecco and champagne, as well as £2.95 Asahi and Corona, and two sharing platters for £20. My friends wanted to order some standard cocktails like gin and tonic, but those unfortunately weren't included so we decided to share a bottle of wine (which turned into two). We got the cheapest white, which is £18 a bottle at normal price, so for the two bottles and something like four glasses each, it was only £6 a person. It doesn't get much better than that!! At the bars in Paternoster Square, you would pay that much, or even possibly twice that, for just one glass of wine. If you don't mind the fact that it's rather dark and clubby but empty, and indoors, this is exceptional value for usually a very expensive place to go out! read more
