I asked them sew a similar fabric on the UNDERSIDE to reinforce it and keep it from ripping more. Didn't need to be perfect, I knew the tear itself could not be sewn together but patching and stitching the underside could mitigate the damage. I came to pick it up and BOTH SIDES were covered in a fabric patch that's not even a close match! I was told that there wasn't a way to reinforce it from the underside so they just did both. Even if that were true (it's not), why did no one call me FIRST and tell me the work I requested and paid for wasn't possible? This is a very basic ask of a professional tailor, it's unbelievable they got it so wrong! This patch is so much worse than the original tear. We had sent them one of favorite fancy dresses to be dry cleaned, 2 weeks later I was then told that 'unfortunately it got in with some dye and was damaged' and also they 'might've use the wrong temperature because the dye from the dress itself bled'? The lady on duty offered me a $60 credit for dry-cleaning to make it right. I tried to explain to them that it was a $560 dress and even found a link to the website where it was still for sale for that price and brought it back into them. She apologized preemptively and said she was sorry but $60 Is the max they would ever be allowed to offer. Really?! I am no businesses run into accidents from time to time but I'm always leery of ones who won't do what it takes to make it right (particularly for loyal customers) that just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
