We were in the mood for breakfast this Saturday morning and decided to try this family run restaurant. It is located in a small strip mall with lots of free parking. Even on a Saturday morning about 10:30 am there were lots of tables available. The inside is a casual diner, nothing fancy. They have outside seating also. We were immediately greeted by a friendly server who told us to sit wherever and they take our orders. There were two very friendly servers working this morning, they helped each other out and were efficient. They both love the food here and enjoy serving the creative creations of the owner/chef. I also find her regular menu choices and her vegan menu very creative. She makes cinnamon rolls every day, regular and vegan. We ordered one regular to go. Eat them while they are warm. They do sell out. I ordered the peach waffles, they had peach in the batter and greasy stewed peaches on top. They were so sweet you did not need syrup, this was not a light waffle but still delicious. I was told she changes her waffle flavors once a month. My husband got a hangover cure, tater tots topped with homemade gravy and eggs. The tots were piping hot and crunchy, the gravy was so delicious! Oh yummy! I've been wanting to try this restaurant since they opened and advertised plant based vegan meals. We arrived before the big crowds for sure. They let you pick your table and make you feel welcoas soon as you walk in the door. They have a normal menu and an all plant based menu. There are also specials behind the cash register. The baked goods looked good. We did not get any. Definitely recommend the hangover cure. Be prepared there is no alcohol. Stop in when they're open, you won't regret it. read more

I visited the Paisley Cafe recently on a weekend. Which is fortunate, because they currently have hours only on the weekends, currently. I was pretty hungry, so I decided to try the Avocado Toast with salmon. They use challah bread, and serve it with perfectly cooked red potatoes. Also perfectly cooked was the egg on top. It still had a bit of rich gooey-ness to it that was sooo good! The ingredients were fresh and prepared nicely for a photogenic presentation. it was delicious, and I would definitely order it again. While there are plenty of tables indoors, I do appreciate outside dining if it's available. The weather is currently quite nice out. read more

I've been wanting to treat my mom to a breakfast where as a vegan I could eat more than potatoes and toast, so when I finally had a weekend where I stayed in town I decided to come check out Paisley Cafe and their all day vegan breakfast menu. I've now visited twice and while both times they've been incredibly understaffed to the point of being only able to offer takeout, they do have plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy your meal. It's a small cafe at the corner of Madison & Main at the end of a strip mall in Orangevale, so I must admit I didn't have the highest of expectations. I'm fortunate that my mom enjoys eating vegan and we share our plates, so I've sampled most of what Paisley offers in the way of vegan brunch and I'm really jazzed that as a vegan I can satisfy my craving for an Americana breakfast here. Trust me, it's hard to find when you're plantbased. Some items I would highly recommend you try are the vegan breakfast burrito, the vegan Hangover Cure, and the vegan cinnamon rolls (but only if they are made fresh that day). Oh, and those house potatoes O'Brien are an absolute must! I can't wait until Paisley Cafe gets it together with staffing, because I'm really looking forward to trying their frittata (unavailable on both visits) and getting actual table service. HEY it's been a year since my first review! I still love this place! My visit just now prompted me to write an update. First, I am very pleased that my pickup order was ready at the exact time it was estimated. The two servers were very warm and gracious. I am very appreciative of the extensive vegan menu. These are hearty vegan options you don't find anywhere else! I mean the fixed menu is a big deal on its own, but on top of that there are rotational seasonal options and I can never resist! My favorite was summer's coconut banana waffle! Today I had the matcha raspberry waffle. I appreciated that it wasn't too sweet or heavy. Nice balance of earthy and tangy. Only thing I regret is not getting the veggie scramble with it! Tips for future patrons: They often close early holiday weekends. Pick up your order on time and don't assume they're open until 2. They have a sign on their door, but no mention online. It's a small business so I understand. Secondly, if you get vegan whip cream, do not store it on top of your order. On Sunday morning my boyfriend, daughter and I stopped in for breakfast. I ordered the Avocado Toast with Chicken Apple Sausage and a Chai Tea Latte. I loved the perfectly poached egg, micro-greens and the deep-fried capers on their toasted soft challah bread, I would love to see a bit of spice to add a bit more flavor. The O'Brien potatoes were absolutely delicious and my daughter enjoyed the Chicken Apple Sausage, we shared our meal! Happy National Egg Day! The latte was mostly cream, I unfortunately couldn't taste the tea itself. Our server was in training so we had to remind him to bring my daughter's orange juice and my boyfriend's bacon he ordered. But the staff were friendly and sweet and my boyfriend absolutely loved his food and big cinnamon roll he took to-go! Delicious breakfast! My parents and I came in and we all enjoyed our food. The biscuits were super yummy, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. The service was above and beyond, that's why I wanted to write this review in the first place. They catered to my every whim (and sorry there were many, I'm a queen), and did so with a smile. I trust The Paisley Cafe during this scary time of the quarantine. Ozzie is not only professional, but she truly cares. She's made a few changes to keep providing delicious safe food to her customers. I really like her weekly family meals. It is different every week. It's a delicious break from feeling like I'm cooking all the time. We're supporting her and she's supporting us. So, wash your hands and enjoy a divine meal. I'm always amazed by Ozzie's dedication to deliciousness. Today it was the Meyer Lemon Ricotta pancakes. Everything about them was so good. From the pancake itself, to the blueberry coulis, to the lemon curd and the mascarpone cream. It was a beautiful combination. It was a Valentine weekend special. I think it needs to go on the regular menu! At the start of the new year there was anew staff hired. I really enjoyed Ozzie's kids working there. The new staff have been nothing, but friendly and attentive. Each time I go they are more knowledgeable and at home as a part of the Paisley family. WOW! Is right. Cece made me think to take a picture of my food. So many good choices, so I thought I get something small. I got the biscuit sandwich. To my surprise it should be named the "mile high" biscuit sandwich. It's came out a second before hubs "Big Arsed" biscuits and gravy. Gave us quite the laugh. Between the 2 meals we could have fed 4 although my giant poodle wouldn't want to share I'm sure. On my sandwich the Egg was cook delightfully. Light fluffy with some herbs in it. Thick slice of sausage and cheese melting out of the layers. Nice fluffy biscuit that could be eaten and enjoyed all on its own. I didn't even try and pick it up. Tipped it over and went at it with a knife and fork. Hubs is often disappointed with restaurant gravy and I suggested asking to try a spoonful. They gladly obliged with a small cup of sausage gravy, which was about 5 bites of gravy. 4 more than one needs, and it sealed the deal. Hubs was sold. It was that good. Next question was close to hubs heart when they asked how he'd like his bacon "super crisp?" I can't tell you how many time the bacon has been sent back at other restaurants, because they don't know what crisp mean. Paisley cafe knows crisp bacon!! It was perfect. The final topper was when I went inside to get hubs a final 1/2 cup of coffee (he was holding our dog.) The young man at the register asked if he'd like a to-go cup of coffee. I didn't tell hubs, because I know how he loves a cup to go as kind of a farewell gift when we leave a restaurant. Hubs got his coffee and look at me and said, "Can we come back tomorrow for breakfast?" Excellent service. Excellent food. Oh yes we did! We came back the next day. I got the delicious Paisley sandwich gluten free brwith fresh fruit. Hubs got the corned beef hash and he'd get it again. He remarked on how delicious they prepared their scrambled eggs that came with it I got a cold brew and knew right away it was just cold hot brewed coffee. Just my preference I wouldn't drink it, because I love cold brew. I asked the waitress and she told me it wasn't cold brew and gladly took it off our bill. My wife and I wanted breakfast, so we looked around for vegan restaurants and came across this place. The ambiance was relaxing and the vibe was cozy. It was a little loud at first, but around 1:30pm it was much quieter because it was close to closing time. The food was good, but it wasn't great! The reason is because there wasn't much flavor to the food. Most of it was fairly bland and if it wasn't for the salt and salsas, the food would have been "okay". I would love to see them spend more time trying to make the food flavorful. It is possible! The service could have been better. Our main server didn't come back to us much, and I felt that the only reason we got her was because I asked her a question. She was really nice, so I'm thankful for that. I will say I plan on going back again, but maybe I'll try going at a different time and day. The food was filling and the portions aren't small. If you're hungry, try this place! read more

At one point I was told that if I waited a few minutes that my cinnamon roll would be hot out of the oven. Those kind of tips make the world the difference! Plus it added to the down home feel. I mean how often do you get homemade cinnamon rolls still hot from the oven??! - The portion sizes were large and for the two of us, even after my orange juice and a 20% tip, our vegan meals totaled just under $35 all told. I absolutely love this place! Everything is so delicious, fresh, homemade, and flavorful. You seriously can't go wrong with anything that you order. They have so much to offer from freshly baked pastries and desserts that are rotating based on the season for example so feel free to call in and see what they are offering on that day. Nothing fancy, but eggs over Southern Sausage gravy over seasoned tater tots, was a delicious winner on a cold blustery morning. Homemade cinnamon rolls were great, we took some bran muffins to go for the next day and they also exceeded expectations. They do not have sour dough but homemade challah bread is used for the French toast. We enjoyed a surprisingly delicious meal, and they exceeded expectations on all levels except for the timing of the food delivery. The Hangover came out a full 10 min before the rest of the meal. We drove 30 minutes to go here for the first time. They had a special Mother's Day menu for today only. We looked at the menu a couple weeks ago and decided we wanted to go specifically for what they were offering. Their website said they only needed reservations for groups of 5 or more so we didn't think we needed one for only 2 people. We showed up early in the morning to beat the crowds but when we walked in they a asked if we had a reservation. We said no and they said it was reservations only today. They had several tables open. I asked if we could get an order to go then and they said no but we could buy some bakery goods. Well that wasn't what we had gone there for and wasn't the same as having a full breakfast. Had we known it was reservations ONLY we would have made them weeks ago when we saw the menu. There were no other restaurants in that area open early in the morning that fit our dietary restrictions so it was a total waste of our time. -- Update: Wow. The owner's response is the one that is rude and nasty. We saw your menu shared in the Sac Vegan Facebook group weeks ago and your FB post said nothing about requiring a reservation. We've never been to your cafe so we had no idea you would need a reservation for a cafe. When checking your website it said reservations are only needed for five or more. The lack of details creates negative experiences for customers like this one. Simply including that reservations are required would have prevented this and we would have made a reservation weeks ago. I would never have thought I'd need one for 2 people to go to a cafe since most restaurants don't even require reservations. How you responded to the review is even more disappointing. To flat-out call a customer's experience inaccurate and farfetched is rude when you are the one who created the atmosphere for it to happen. I read online that this happened to others as well who didn't know reservations were required. I hope you can take this feedback as constructive and learn from it to improve your business. It would prevent negative experiences, and it would probably make things easier for you and your employees, too. read more

Loved this small cafe, we were looking for something close by when we found this cafe on the corner of a small strip mall. This is definitely a hidden gem in Orangevale. Happy to see that they served breakfast all day. So why not try the avocado toast that had a poached egg on top with o'Brian potatoes on the side, delicious! We also tried "The Paisley " sandwich. Slow roasted beef, blue cheese, bacon and more, this will be a favorite for sure. And my mom had the "Reuben" she loved it. I read many great reviews about Paisleys Cafe and wanted to try it ever since it opened. While they are currently only open on weekends to the public right now, I could not try it out due to my schedule. But recently, I ordered a few bites from the Cafe and was very pleased with all the items I received. Wicked Cheddah Sandwich Challah and fries, now I know you can make your own grill cheese, but this was delicious. It was nice and cheesy, the bread was fresh and soft and had a nice crunch from being grilled, and the fries were seasoned perfectly, not too soft and not overcooked. Cinnamon Roll (Boys), which includes nuts on top. This was by far the best cinnamon roll I have ever had in my life. So fresh and creamy, perfectly coated, and very large. I enjoyed it for two days, and it was still exceptionally fresh the next day as well. I recommend trying the cinnamon rolls and everything else on the menu, but don't leave without a cinnamon roll; it will change your life. read more

Went today for the Cinnamon Buns, but also had brunch. Highly suggest the cinnamon buns.l. They're delicious and soft. The burger had rave reviews and so did the challah French toast. The Cobb salad was delicious, but part of the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I was disappointed to see Sliced turkey deli meat instead of roasted turkey. This is a little gem nestled in the Orangevale community. Being in Citrus Heights, we're not accustomed to having a variety of niche and new brunch type spots. I happened to this little place on Yelp when I opened my app and was thinking of what to eat. It is more of a brunch-lunch/cafe than a breakfast spot. They have a smaller menu, but they have some really awesome selections. Quality over quantity as they say. My husband opted for the biscuit with eggs, cheese and sausage with a side of potatoes while I got the avocado toast with the poached egg on top. Meanwhile, I spotted blueberry lavender muffins in their pastry case...all of which looked fresh and homemade. They had these really awesome looking giant cinnamon rolls as well. It is a small little place, but they had an espresso bar to the left of the seating area where you could order just about any cafe beverage. They also sell a nice variety of jams and they have a refrigerated beverage case. I believe this is a family owned establishment and the service was quick and very good. I would love to try more of their pastries next time. I saw a giant gluten free chocolate chip cookie. Everything is just so awesome that you won't be disappointed and the price tag is right as well. Y'ALL! This is a place you want to try! Family owned and managed (MaMa is the owner and baker, the kids run the front), they serve up some rather amazing food! After some friends shared a post about National Biscuits and Gravy Day, I figured I'd give them a try. Let me just say, it was an unexpected treat! The huge biscuits reminded me of my grandma's, not to dense but not too light. They are perfect for a hearty bowl, yes, I said BOWL, of gravy! The gravy was so tasty! Though I forgot to ask, I know they make their own pork sausage and I'm guessing that's what was in the gravy. Normally, I like hot sauce and eggs with my biscuits and gravy, but this is the first time I didn't want anything but my big 'ol bowl of yumminess! The family is super friendly!
