Literally the worst streaming system possible. They make Xfinity look like a Ferrari. So first thing is that their streaming devices dont work well, then when you call in the people on the phone have a hard time helping as they have stated that their streaming system and equipment is not very good and they have lots of issues with it. our system has had issues with connection and being Abel to remain turned on. For the signal, the little hanging dongle type connection keeps showing bad signal unless it is within 10 feet of my modem. I have 600mbps fiber optics with a brand new modem. My other TV is further from our main one and we had to buy a little box thing for it and it has not had issues since installing. But the little hanging thing they send is worthless and continues to have issues. I did not get to choose what device I got so now we are going on a third. The main issue other than connection is that after a few weeks, they dont want to power up. When calling, we have to go through 30-40 minutes of start up testing before they will do anything. Then when talking to a supervisor they just get offensive and challenge everything that is said. We switched services over about 2 months ago and since then we have had 2 of their little streaming devices fail and they want us to pay for them before offering to credit. I asked what they are going to charge for since their equipment failed within weeks and they just said that it doesnt matter because they will credit it anyways. it does matter, build better equipment so these issues dont happen. Then when reviewing the bill there is a 15 dollar special equipment fee which they explained is not for the little streaming HDMI connector but to warranty those little boxes that dont work. Another BS charge for something they manufactured to get more money from people. Anyways, the main service people are helpful and nice and honest since they basically all told me that the system is not very good and they understand my frustrations. Anyways, if you want to watch TV with little issues, dont go with Directv. Go with Xfinity, streaming services (YouTube, Hulu, or basically any other but DONT GO WITH DIRECTV! read more

So the most stressful thing about moving shouldn't be your TV service. I scheduled Direct TV to come out the day of my move and hook up our service. I was given a 12-4 window. No one showed. I called again and was assigned Tuesday 8-12. No one showed, no call, no update. I called waited on line for 20 minutes, at 1pm I was told the guy would be here within the next hour. My time is not of any value to Direct TV. I had to miss work, miss kids sports practices and sit in my house with no TV held hostage by Direct TV. Another negative review. So far i've been on the phone for 2 hours and have spoken to 6 employees who (to their credit) are friendly but ineffective. So my DirecTV hard drive failed, and I had to order a new one. When it arrived we followed the instructions to get it up, and the remote would not work as described. We called DirecTV and spoke with an agent who determined that the remote was faulty. She then explained that she would send out another one and would be signing me up for the Protection Plan for $8.99 per month because that is how equipment gets replaced. WELL! I told her that DirecTV had sent a bad piece of equipment, and that I didn't want the Plan, but for her to replace the faulty item they had sent which had never worked. After arguing with her 4 times about how she needed to send a new remote and NOT sign me up for the Protection Plan she said she had to put me on hold and then said it was taken care of. So, then 4 days later I get an e-mail from DirecTV telling me all about my Protection Plan and the $8.99 per month I was going to be charged. I had to read VERY small print to find out that the only way to cancel is to send a written notice to Asurion. The contents of the notice were not explained. So I have written the letter, and I have NO confidence that AT&T won't be continuing this scam to get $8.99 per month from me. AT&T must be desperate to survive! How greedy of them to take advantage of their customers in this way! I had to login to my DirecTV account to get my account number to use in the letter. Wish I could leave the stars empty. This has been the worst experience in service EVER!!! We switched over to catch a deal from ATT and Direct package. DON'T DO IT!!! Had the dish for a year and has never been totally working and now not able to receive some channels (the best ones of course). Scheduled an appt and tech guy said couldn't go on roof without proper stuff and assistant. So rescheduled, didn't show plus no call. Rescheduled, didn't show and no call. Have reschedule for Saturday (great weekend plans) and fingers are crossed. Dish Network was always able to keep appointments and do the work. We cancelled their service when we moved and we sent out their equipment the same day we received the return box in the mail and they still charged us. I called them when I opened the bill saying there were going to charge us and I told them to remove my credit card from my file and the dumbass I spoke to said "I can give you assurance that your card has been removed" 4 days later my card was charged. So I called them back and they said they received the equipment but they still charged us and we were going to get out refund within 72 hours. 72 hours still no refund. FIND ANOTHER TV PROVIDER. Direct TV just stole the NFL playoffs from me. Because they did not agree to a deal with the local network I could not watch the NFL playoffs. No warning from them. I rearranged my day to come home and watch the playoffs. When I turned on the tv there was a message from them about a dispute. When I called and talked to them they said that that I should buy an antenna and hung up on me. I feel like they have stolen from me. Direct tv was charging me $62 for their lowest plan. They bragged about how many channels you get. Example: 120 channels including ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, ION, SPIKE and the rest were shopping channels or infomercials. I got a mailer for DISH and it was much cheaper for better channels. So I called Direct TV to see if the could match or come close. They couldn't. I talked to someone else because they transferred me. Still couldn't come close. I told them I was probably going to cancel. Nothing. So I called and got Dish installed. A couple days later I called Direct TV to cancel. It took 25 minutes. I said I was in a hurry, would she please email me the cancellation info. She said she didn't have an email for me so ok I sat through it all. Then she ends up asking for my email so I give her my husband's and she says it was not the email she has for me. Liar! Then a few hours later, someone else calls to try and retain my service. I told them, again, I already have anther service installed. OMG! It didn't take that long to sign up! I know they are just doing their jobs, but geez! read more

Really horrible customer service. I didn't think a company could provide worse service than Dish Network but DirecTV manages to set new lows. I purchased an equipment protection plan for which I paid a few extra bucks a month for. My DVR overheated and burned out; I called DirecTV's (800) customer service number to get it swapped out but they wouldn't replace it unless I wanted to pay for a new box. There are constant channel outages and cancellations. The slightest breeze causes the reception to pixelate. You're much better off with a cable alternative. read more

After more than 12 years I terminated my service. The cost kept going up as the quality went down. They sent a pre paid box to return my equipment and I did. Directv is the absolute worst provider I have ever used. I've had a few cable services, Dish, and ATT Uverse, and even Directv years ago. On the current Directv, wireless sets that I have, recorded shows cut out 5-8 times per show. To continue watching I have to go back to the menu of recorded shows, choose the show and the episode again. Then it cuts out again! Very frustrating. During regular shows, the screen goes gray several times per show. The remote quits working every few weeks and has to be reset. Their online link for the codes to pair my tv with the remote doesn't work, so I need to use my tv remote to turn it in and off until I can get customer service to help when they're open. The customer service closes at 9:00 Central Time. I've had to call several times with many issues. A tech came out and said the service was not correctly installed originally. Wasn't even set for HD. The service was a bit better for a little while, but now it's back to messing up all time. I've never had any of these types of problems with any other service before. read more

Installation was not completed because DTV has a policy that they are not allowed to walk on a 1 story roof. My roof happens to be new composite shingles with extra support. Spectrum had no issue going on the roof. I had to pay an outside company $140 to install the dish on my chimney. DTV will not reimburse. ENVIRONMENTALLY OFFENSIVE. We ordered Directv and had to have the satellite installed. We immediately had problems with it and had to switch to another provider, and no longer needed the enormous dish. We asked if they would pick it up - they would not. We did not want it to end up in a landfill, as it was brand new and clearly resource intensive to produce. We asked if we could go out of our way to deliver it to them, and they would not allow this. We tried finding a local office, and called multiple sites, but there was no way to avoid putting their brand new satellite in a landfill. Awful corporate social responsibility. Awful. read more

I found a third party who not only found an HD signal, he also installed the disk, ran the wire into the house, and set up the receiver so that I have perfect DirecTV HD now at a site that DirecTV three times said it couldn't be done. But again I had to go to a third party who thinks out of the box. The DirecTV installers are hamstrung by their own bureaucracies. Despite the installation shortcomings, I recommend DirecTV over all other providers. read more

If you like television sales, DirecTV is saturated with them. You pay for 600 channels and 400 are trying to sell you something.. If you have a problem, good luck. Their customer service is automated for about 10 minutes before you have to start waiting for a real person.. I ended up with Chris in Atlanta who was not helpful at all. Somehow our call was disconnected and he did not call back. Their website does not allow you to contact them.. It is only a forum for marketing and sales. Never again. NOT HAPPY!!!! We are forced to use Direct TV due to our home location! Don't understand why none of the other services can't reach our area as we are just right off Hwy 68! Anyway, we have had so many problems with them as far as service going in & out constantly! Now, because they are in a financial dispute with some of our local new companies they have put a block on viewing these channels. WE Always watch the local news in the Am & Pm. Wouldn't be such a big deal but it's now going to be another week it's out. My husband called and informed Direct TV that it is not our problem you can't reach an agreement before the new year 2017! And why should you be able to still collect the full bill when we are looking at blocked channels. They state they will give us a credit... we'll see if they follow through. What is the most upsetting is WHY do WE all have to ask for a credit? It should be automatically offered!!! This is a HUGE company and of course it comes down to $$$$$$ for them! read more

Directv is a joke, we cancelled their service back in October of 2016, they tried to keep us but they got rid of the channels we watch without saying anything so we told them no, we then sent back all equipment and they received said equipment on November 5, 2016, they then charged my account on December 1st saying that the computer automatically took out the money because their receiving department took to long in processing the order, how this became my problem I will never understand, what I do know is that when we called to get the money put back in they told us it would be 4 days, fine ok no problem inconvenient, yes but at least they would give the money, called at the 4 day mark, because money was not back in account, they said it would be another 4 days...WTF sounds to me like they didn't put the money back the first time and they screwed up AGAIN! so called my bank and am disputing charges...I am now late paying two other bills because of these morons and couldn't be more disgusted with their customer service! read more

So we called again. I asked what address they were sending our bill they repeated once again a wrong address. But yet they have the correct address for there propaganda.
