Our experience with SoMoCo Wireless has been a positive experience. You can always get an actual live person on the phone (the owner/manager provides his cell number in case one needs to contact him in the off-hours). When there is a planned outage, we are informed in a timely manner. If there have been issues with service, we will get an e-mail explaining what the problem was. No technology is perfect. But having had a negative experience with another wireless provider, our household could not be happier with the service we get from SoMoCo. And we are heavy bandwidth users, with two wireless televisions, several devices and a gaming platform attached to our SoMoCo service. We have had salespeople come by to offer the most recent service that's been installed in our area. It's a huge company, you can't get a human being terribly easily should you have issues, and the cost, after a cheap introductory offer, for our household, we are doing better with what we've got. Bad weather happens. Technology is stretched or fails. But with a local owner, SoMoCo does give a damn about customer service. That's the difference for us. read more

I saw an ad for them in our local paper, and since I try to support local businesses, I called them. The person who I spoke with on the phone was basically a parrot who had very little knowledge of their product offering. And zero Internet expertise whatsoever. When she told me their download speeds in "Megabytes", I asked her if she meant Megabits or Megabytes. She said they are both the same. Literally horrible . Never works. Working from home is nearly impossible. If it rains or the wind blows or gets too hot you won't have internet. Only good thing is the cheap price. read more

Always responsive, keeps us informed, and will abswer questions anytime. Living in Pine Cyn, weather is always an issue, but they stay on top if it. I couldn't ask fir a better wireless provider. I would recommend them for any service in south Monterey County. read more

We've had this internet provider for about year and almost going to be 2, and have constantly been having reoccurring problems regarding connectivity and just ping issues and what not. I'm going to say nothing ever changes, either I'm told that nothing is wrong at all, or my equipment is the cause of these issues. read more

Somoco is a great internet provider. The pricing and upload/download speeds are far better than our previous internet provider. They have always responded correctly to the issue at hand. This is not the same as city service but outstanding for the more rural application. Customers need to know this is microwave internet and will behave differently than in-ground or satellite. I never leave reviews, but after seeing the last two I have too. I have been a customer of Somoco Wireless for 4 years now I have never had an issue with my service let alone with customer service. They are great! Always answer questions and are always nice. Yes, sometimes with this weather we have some connection issues but they always call and let us know what is going on and when it will be resolved. SoMoCo Interent sucks... I stay in a rv park that has them and they recently upgraded there system. The upgrade is overkill for the rv park and this type of internet. Money wasted, the service has gone down. My devices wont stay connected. Some wont even connect. The upload is faster then the download. I have not seen on tech out here since they finish the upgrade. Stay away from this company. 7/25/19 - Mr. SoMoCo, You commented on July 9 on the review I left. I know it's free internet, but my rent helps pay for the FREE internet. But as of today, still the same issues... devices wont stay connected, upload is faster than download when I can keep a steady connection. I have told the front office and they say your still working on it. I have talked to 5 different residents who cant connect. If you responded to my review you know the problems. Had the displeasure of talking to Karen and the co owner Rosa something. Both rude AF, luckily I found out through neighbors they suck too. I asked what the installation fee included since it was already wired. The owner without letting me speak said "why are you asking for everything for free." Never once said that, but not going to pay or asking for anything for free. Not sure why any clients even stick with them but talked to Deer Creek and Highland Hills and heard similar stories. We've been a SOMOCO Wireless customer for the past several years. Although there have been occasional interruptions in service (usually weather related), service is usually restored within a couple of hours. We had experience with several other wireless providers before switching to SOMOCO Wireless. Our service prior to SOMOCO Wireless was spotty at best and once we reached our data limit for the month, our internet speed slowed to a snails pace. Living in a rural area, your choices for an internet provider are limited. We have been happy with the service they provide and Joe has always responded to our issues in a timely manner. He even disclosed his personal cell number to contact him! What other internet provider does that? Been with them for 2 years and always have reoccurring issues. I have this at both home & work sites, and both have the same issues. At home I can hardly get any connection, and when I do everything freezes and glitches. I bought the best router to accompany the service and still no difference. I use a computer and gaming system and had to buy a mobile hotspot just to be connected to them. Every morning I have to connect my phone hotspot to my smart tv to get it to work. It's exhausting and I might as well just use my hotspots. read more
