Horrible Install Service... Was told by service tech free install and equipment... after 3 days of failed install (no call no shows) they call and tell me they are 5 minutes out and at end of phone call they ask "do you have the $50 for pole install..??" I tell them no and that it's all included, he tells me this is cash or credit and separate from Direct TV and they get paid with this... So with being 5 minutes out and no one able to do anything as they tell me to hook up and they will do gift card to reimburse which is doubtful I cancel the install altogether. Everyone I talked to with Direct TV including installers which even if they are subs still are the face and show the lack of ethical and professionalism of DTV IMO... I'd also put no stars on review but won't let me just another facet of this company that shows they don't care about the customer just what they can do to make more and look better than they truly are... read more

Had problems with my cable box for 3 months . Just called to get help and was on hold for 15 minutes and never had the chance to speak with a human. Still unresolved, can't wait for my contract to be up in December. read more

Horrific Customer Service I have had whole house DVR service for several years, and have been able to suspend my service for most of the Winter, at no cost, while we are in Florida. I have had no problem with the quality of service. This past Summer AT&T acquired Directv. Now I would have to pay $7 a month to suspend service. My monthly bill in Summer had topped $130 for the programming I wanted. That was the last straw. I canceled my Directv. Then the real problems began. Remember, I am in FL and the equipment I need to return is in MI. Their Special Services Unit told me I could have someone in MI, just take my equipment to UPS or FED X, and they would box it ans\d ship it back to Directv. They did not say it had to be a full service store, and not just a pre labeled drop off. The nearest one of those is 50 miles from my friend and the equipment. Directv had sent me an email that a return kit had been sent to the service address in MI. Never showed up there. A forward is in effect to send everything to FL. Didn't come here either. Called CS and was told it WOULD go the service address. Local PO said it would forward. Called a couple days ago, and after 35 min on hold, gave up. Tried again today. was transfered 4 times to "someone that could help me", on the 5th transfer, I gave up for good. I will return their equipment when I get back to MI in May. In the mean time they will bill me for the equipment. This is the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever dealt with. read more

I am in the Lansing area. I would give them zero stars, if that were possible. I just wanted to upgrade my service to HD. I talked to several people and was told 1) It would be free upgrade and $10/month with a 2 year contract. 2) It would be $199 and $10/month to have NO contract. 3) It would be $399 and $10/month to have NO contract. 4) It is not an option to have no contract. 5) There is nobody in authority I could speak to about this, and the CEO of their electronics company has no email address or phone. 6) It would be $126.09 and $10/month with NO contract - and this is a special offer that could change tomorrow. I questioned why this was better and was told things change all the time. I insisted I be sent a copy of the chat in which I was told this. So, I signed up for option 6, and just found out they added a 2 year contract. I would not recommend to anyone to get involved with this company in any way, ever. read more

Terrible company. Only added it for the ability to watch Sunday Ticket, but finally had to end my service with them due to insane price increases and the overall shadiness of this business. DirecTV constantly added upgrade packages to my account and charged me for them without any of my approval whatsoever! I had to watch my bill like a hawk to discover them and get a rightful refund. I completely cancelled my service with the company in early August. A week and a half later I got charged for their Sunday Ticket package even though the football season didn't start for a month and I didn't even have DirecTV at all anymore! Even after several angry phone calls to their totally ridiculous "customer service" and billing departments, the charge has remained on my credit card. I am paying interest on the charge and also paying phone bill minutes to try to resolve this, but to no avail. I keep getting promises and assurances that the money I am owed will be mailed to me, but here we are at the end of September and I've not received any of my money back! They owe me $41 for Sunday Ticket and another $30 for an overcharged bill. This is the least trustworthy business I've ever dealt with. As a huge sports fan, I loved having Sunday Ticket, but it is so not worth it to be constantly fighting off scams and surprise charges. On average I spend about 40 minutes on the phone when I try to contact them, but nothing ever gets resolved. Stay away from this company if you possibly can. read more
