Spectrum is the most reliable service in the area for one thing. Raising the price! I cannot count the rate hikes we have endured over the years. They have raked us over the coals on price increases and fees. They know our choices are extremely limited. Now, although not by our neighbor yet, AT & T, T-Mobile, 123 Net and such have taken a big slice of Spectrum's pie. Of course, Spectrum feels the pain and goes back to its normal MO. Yes, this month's bill, $10 more per month. Call them and they will tell you how valued you are as a customer and may lower the price back down, but why, why, why do I have to haggle with you Spectrum? I'm not the type of person who usually writes reviews, but my experience here was truly horrible. I made an appointment in advance, yet it still took an hour and a half for me to be seen! I saw six people there, but only one was actually working; two were wasting time on their computers, and one guy was literally just messing around on his phone--what the hell? I saw five people walk in after me who chose to leave because they weren't being helped, as well as two others who had arrived before me and left for the same reason. I drove 30 minutes one way to return an internet modem. I got to the store in Greenville Mi and they said it would be an hour wait. Really? To return equipment... The staff were extremely unhelpful. Finally a customer mentioned making an appointment and that really has helped her. Your staff couldn't think of this? I finally left the modem at the store with my name and account information hoping someone will type it into your computer. Your staff wouldn't even give me a sticky note to write my info. Did they forget I am a customer?Here's an idea. Take a tip from Amazon. When returning equipment, I should be able to go online, find the equipment I am returning, print out a QR code, put it on the equipment and drop it off an my nearest store (which is again 30 minutes away). The service in my area is awful. I pay $105. For 600meg and the service is intermittent at best. When I called to talk to a representative he either hung up on me or the call was dropped, this was in my kitchen! So disappointed in Spectrum's service. When I inquired in mid-February 2025 about closing down services (TV, internet, land-line) at my deceased mother's home, Spectrum told me that I was "paid up through 3/12", implying that there was no hurry; then on 3/3 I received a text indicating that a new auto-payment for ~$220 had just been charged to my mother's bank account for--you guessed it--"the billing cycle ending 3/12"! I thought my mother had already paid for that! Spectrum allowed me to continue thinking that my mother's bill was PAID THROUGH 3/12; i.e., she either wouldn't get charged again until after that date or would be charged for services after that date, which I never intended to reach. I'd been talking w/ Spectrum off and on for the last three weeks and at no point did they indicate that my mother's account was going to be charged again before the end of the current billing cycle. SPECTRUM MISLED ME, which is no surprise to anyone who's ever dealt with them. read more

Spectrum WiFi has become worse than dial up. Pay for 600 meg service and have to reboot every day just to get connection inside our house. I can be standing next to the router and cannot make a phone call using WiFi. Customer service is even worse. My wife spoke to a rep and was describing the poor service that we get in the house, hoping he would help, but he hung up on her. Please please please get another company in Grand Haven to provide internet service. Based on the Spectrum reviews in this area, all customers will leave Spectrum. read more

Spectrum has confirmed once and for all what a poor excuse for a company they are. Their charges are outrageously high and never have been commensurate with the services received. Beware of their "monthly subscription" business operation. What a rip off. So, if you move and stop service you will still be required to pay for a full month of their, (did I mention already), outrageously high prices. After speaking with 3 customer reps, each one repeated the same infuriating scripted response that Spectrum cannot and will not prorate their charges even though customer receives only 2 days of service in a "billing cycle". That's just wrong. Then came the threats of sending my account to collections!!! So, being a loyal customer and paying every bill on time for years just isn't considered at all. Unbelievable. They call this Spectrum store in Holland a "service location". It should be called a wireless showroom that is understaffed, small and cramped that inter mixes existing customers who want a quick exchange of a defective component and people shopping for a new wireless service. I travelled over 25 miles from Spring Lake to this "service location" to exchange a defective modem. It took over two hours of waiting while three sales people told customers of the wonders of Spectrum Wireless while I hung around, sat on the floor and listened to the sales pitches which droned on and on. To add to the misery this office does not have a restroom, that's customer service at it's finest. When my name was finally called the exchange of my defective rental modem took less than a minute and a half. IS THIS ANY WAY TO RUN A "SERVICE LOCATION" and threat a customer of over 20 years? The WiFi went out in my apartment over two weeks ago. My roommate called to schedule an appointment and no one showed up. Since then, I've called back five times and made new appointments and still no one has shown up. We still don't have WiFi and calling back doesn't do anything. I'll place an order to do self-install knowing I needed WiFi for online classes. Given that it's my first time all own I wasn't familiar with what I needed and only got a modem resulting in no internet. Called customer service and they explained it to me so I went back and got a router. Then I couldn't activate it myself and have a job so I had to wait a couple days to have a technician come out. All that said, I've dealt with other WiFi etc. carriers both with my family and on my own and can say the customer service at spectrum in Big Rapids is pretty good and as of now the WiFi is sufficient and working well. Activation may require a tech person to come out but going into this that's what I thought had to happen anyway so I was not flustered when the activation employee explained that to me (she was also very nice which helped). For new independent persons, don't forget to add a router to your order but other than that I'd say given their promotion prices and customer service, spectrum is a good way to go. read more

This stinks. I'm writing my first review about a company I had a great experience with until I had to cancel services. I returned 2 cable boxes and a modem to a very confused young lady at the Holland location, she said thank you and off I went. They apparently sent me "numerous notices about unreturned equipment" to my old house before ultimately sending my account to collections. I've spoken to a customer service rep 3-4 times with a promise of a follow up, to no avail. Today I was told without a receipt I would have to pay. So now I'm going to have to cancel my businesses services (I'll be sure to grab a receipt this time) and they're forcing me to be the person I don't want to be, a bad review writer. read more

Two months later she got a "past due" bill for hundreds of dollars because they never closed her account. I have called and explained and they refuse to close her account without the full payment. Absolutely horrible. Customer service is awful. Condescending people that refuse to actually do anything to help their customers. I'm currently in Newaygo, MI. I need WIFI to watch my Android TV. When I conduct a speed test, I consistently get a "D" rating. I had no idea that I could actually get a lower rating than that, until I got an "F-". I called and got the runaround, from a placating woman, who clearly did not care. Her solution was to blame my Android TV carrier. Really?? The only thing this inept company is interested in, is bilking their customers out of their money, every month. If I had another choice in WIFI providers, I would switch in an instant. This is what happens when a company has,a monopoly on your area. They don't care if you're not happy. They know that you can't take your business elsewhere. Package deal keeps increasing in price with Charter Spectrum. Every two years I had to call and complain that I was not happy with cost increase to get it reduced again, this year I finally said enough. So I asked Charter Spectrum to cancel my Charter Spectrum Television since my "introductory pricing" expired. When moved to the standard pricing, because introductory deal expired, I was informed that my, now, standard pricing would increase on my Charter Spectrum Internet because I was cancelling Charter Spectrum Television. Not impressed. I moved to Zeeland in 2014. I called Charter and asked if they serviced my new address. The service rep was snotty and informed me that my address didn't exist. The house was pre existing. She took my number and told me the company would call me back in a couple of days. The company never called me back. I went with AT&T Uverse. I love it. In the last two years, Charter has tried to poach my business no less than a dozen times, up to and including showing up on my doorstep uninvited and begging to sign me up. I've asked repeatedly to be removed from calling lists and to have my address removed from their mailing list so I stop getting a dozen pieces of unsolicited mail every month. No thanks, guys. Go away. Stop bothering me. I want nothing to do with your service. Pretty funny AT&T found my address right off the bat and were thrilled to sign me up for business, but you guys apparently couldn't figure out that a house apparently already on your mailing list was eligible for service, AND made me feel an inch tall while telling me so. I had Brighthouse/Charter/Spectrum for 5 years and they constantly raised my rates, had bad customer service, a labyrinth of menus to get through when you call them, needing to reset my router every other month. They kept sending ads every month even though I had their service. I finally managed to escape and then they called me about my account being past due. I asked how much and they said, "Huh, looks like you've already cancelled so you are all set." Rampant incompetence. Why are you still reading this? Use another company. read more
