Normally like the service but recently changed my service for financial reasons. Wanted to add 3 channels (mind you they have a QR code to add them that didn't work) so I called them to add only 3 channels. They wanted $64 more for a measly 3 channels. Utterly ridiculous in my opinion. I expected a minimal charge but $64 for 3 channels? Really? Don't offer a QR code to add channels if you are just going to rip people off. Very disappointed to say the least. read more

Direct TV is awful! They continue to have contract disputes which always negatively impacts its customers. Direct tv continues to increase their prices while decreasing their services. I pay hundreds of dollars to watch sports and now I can't even do that. Then they offer a $30 reduction in price for their inability to provide the service I pay for. I'm done you will get your devices back next week. read more

LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS A company doesn't get so many consistent one-star reviews for good service. If anyone is considering using their services, hopefully, these consistent negative reviews will help you make a decision to pick another vendor. LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS Q - What happens AT&T when you outsource and off-shore your customer service department? A - You get a lot of pissed off customers that will flock to your competitors. I am now one of them. Despicable treatment by a group of totally untrained, uneducated, incompetent L I A R S First call 10/17 - This is where I lost 51 minutes of my life trying to explain an issue to their incoherent representatives. First Eileen who was totally useless. Then her 'supervisor', Jasmine who guaranteed me I would receive an email from someone on their tech team within 72 hours, Ticket #1-236907879796R2. It sounded far-fetched, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. 10/24 - As anticipated, no response. Called again and spoke with Sierra who again, was of no use. I asked to AGAIN speak with a supervisor. After waiting for 1 hour 27 minutes (stupid me) with her coming back on the line every so often to assure me that the supervisor was coming, she disconnected the call. I guess that was her way of letting me know that a supervisor wouldn't be coming after all. Right back at you AT&T/DirectTV. Tomorrow, it's my turn and I will be one to hit the disconnect button and terminate your services. read more

First of all, I'm generally happy with my Direct TV service. However, I've just discovered that the antenna that Direct TV installed on my roof three years ago ( which was working fine) cannot be serviced now since the technicians cannot leave their ladders ( recent change). So I now have 2 dishes five feet apart on my roof and Direct TV says the first one that they put in is my problem-- they won't remove it. After 4 1/2 hours talking to eight different people, I gave up. Caution to all of you that currently have one on your roof -- you have the same issue. read more

DIRECTV - Two dishes do not improve service. - Television Service Providers Near Me

I had a DirectTV dish on my roof until it fell over leaving holes exposed for water to get in. I called customer service and was given a wrong number for Risk Management. The "correct" number is an AT&T recording apologizing that they can't take any calls and promptly disconnects you. Either provide someone to assist with opening a claim or provide an address where legal service can be served. read more

They suck I tried to get them to get me my password but they didn't at all they kept passing me around to everybody and I couldn't get satisfaction at all read more

One star is far too generous. I actually broke my word to myself and let me get talked into a second go round. The nightmare continues. Not only were the results poor - the box initialized every single time I turned on the tv and it took 5-10 minutes before I could watch anything (even in the days of big tubes it was never this bad). The dish was placed not where my wife asked (either of 2 locations) but directly in between and in the middle of a major traffic area in and out of our shed. There was and still is fiber optics left all over the ground. But the worst is that for a 5% discount you can get auto pay, which requires that they have access to your bank account. After being "reassured" twice that I would not be billed, of course they ding my checking account for $200+ and now I've got another bill for $480, $460 of it an "early disconnect" fee. One of the boxes was installed hanging off the side of a piece of furniture because the tech had cut the cable too short. (There's always lots of cable!!) and it just hung there in midair. Both the internet and tv techs were here at the same time for the install. Neither talked to each other and barely talked to us. They both left w/o asking if we were happy or had any questions. The internet guy left a piece of furniture he had moved away from the wall right where he left it?!? One of the worst parts of it all as AT&T has bought Direct TV is that even though their services are bundled it seems anytime you need to talk with someone it's always on "the other side, can you please hold?" Grrrr. This company needs to get their act together so they can present ONE FACE to their customers. It seems that finger pointing is their favorite pastime. I could go on and on, mercifully I won't. Just suffice to say that you have my sympathy if this is your only choice available. With Xfinity I can talk to my remote, it's "Marine-proof" and most importantly, mama is happy again. read more

I called DirecTV to cancel my account agreed to pay the early cancellation charge and they and turned charge me twice as much money for the next month when I should have been build anything and now they refuse to pay me my money back within 30 days and I told him I would send in the final payment and they took it off my card anyway they are these do not I repeat do not use DirecTV under any circumstances because they will truly put the screws to you.. After talking with them 3 or 4 times no one is still willing to refund me my money this company steals they lie and they take advantage of elderly people who cannot afford their services anymore they overbilled them an extra month which is not in their contract and they don't give the money back to people who can't afford them this company is corrupt do not use them I repeat do not use them. read more

Terrible terrible phone service Been on the line for almost two hours Spoke to 6 different people, no one can help Had a roof installed and need my satellite reattached Never have I been so disappointed and frustrated with a company read more

This company is crooked. I don't know what's happened with them but we have service and they keep raising our bill each month and have the same channels. When we reach someone they say our bill will go back down but we still need to pay the current one. They must be going out and ripping their current customers off since they are on contract like us. I am reporting this to the Consumer Board of Affairs. We cancelled today and it was an act of Congress. They not only doubled our bill but we have to pay close to $300 to cancel. We could not understand the operator but they wouldn't even review the bill. This is horrible. We are senior citizens and were scammed. read more

DirecTV has given us nothing but trouble over the last 6 months. We were double billed one month, and recently we discovered that we were signed up for a package when we weren't supposed to be on one, and we were billed for services that we did not authorize. Last month we were told to pay the bill in full and we would be credited on this month's bill. This month, no credit and ANOTHER charge! We were told to pay the bill in full again and we would be credited on next month's bill. We have decided to cancel our TV service through them and look for another option. The customer service dept. was absolutely no help and anger and frustration were all we were left with. read more

Be careful when receiving promotions from this vendor. Make sure you get the full name of the customer representative your are talking with and their ID number. They will lead you to believe that a package (like the NFL Sunday Ticket) can be given to you for no cost, they would not even offer this product at a reduced rate. Then I was billed at the full monthly rate. I have been a customer of AT&T/Directv for ever 15 years and have never been in this situation with this vendor. My advise is use a streaming service and watch your favorite team at a local bar/restaurant. I guess over 15 years of loyalty to this vendor does not count for much. read more

You're a trash company. We canceled our service in March of 2018. Every single month since then we have received a statement saying we are owed a credit for $63.60. We have called the customer service about 20 times. Every single time we are on the phone 45 minutes to an hour. EVERY SINGLE TIME, we get a different story. Once we were told we would be receiving a check in the mail, one time they said it was a going to be a Visa card in the mail, another time we were told we had to drive to a store and pick up our refund. I called once twice this weekend, once on Friday and once on Saturday. Got a completely different story both times I called. Finally spoke to a "manager" and after having me on hold for 45 minutes he told me we aren't owed money. This is insane. If I owed this company $63.60 I would have been sent to collections. I know I'll never see the money I'm owed, but I will tell every single person I know not to every use your company. I will leave a terrible review every chance I get. We aren't alone in this. You all know this is an issue. It's all over the forums on your website. You just don't care because you can do whatever you want. We will never use your company again. read more

DirecTV has been terrible in our viewing area. The slightest bit of rain causes pixelation, and there's nothing any of the technicians can do about it. I would NOT recommend them anywhere it rains. Now that we're moving out of state, they're going to charge us an early termination fee, even though we've had them for 3-1/2 years. read more

DirectTV has a problem with "gifting" months of free channels and then they start charging you for them. They are very undermining and have a shady way of doing business. When you call, they have a tendency to send you back and forth between 4-5 different people who will be able to "help" you. I even had one guy start lecturing me on how to handle my finances. I would not recommend venturing down this wormhole. read more

Biggest issue was with adding Direct TV with AT&T. We would get the typical call for a free month of these channels and would want a upgraded sports package, which we would declined or applied to our plan. No obligation with any of these channels so we would follow through and call and cancel them. Since January 2017, we have to call in about our bill being too much/incorrect or following up with a "credit" not being applied to the account. So after 9 months of nothing being followed through with correctly based off what every manager and representative assured us about, we canceled. We had only 5 months left of our 2 year contract and we were so fed up we just forked out the money to follow through with canceling. They even offered to lower our whole bill down to $85 a month but we knew that wasn't even going to turn out right with all the issues already. Now another bill that was paid off is being held against us. Now every month we get a warning about our internet being turned off if it's not paid. And every warning we get, we call into AT&T and are reassured that it's just an error. One day we come home and our internet had been turned off. We call and the internet is turned back on and the manager on the call assured us that he will "credit" 3 months of internet. So we will not see a bill till 2018 of January. This is based off being charged for things he saw we were wrongly charged for and as a courtesy. Like always, nothing was applied. We have a bill for this month and warning about our internet being turned off again. We like the products provided, we had Direct TV, and as of right now still have internet and a phone plan with AT&T. Never really had any issues with the quality. But the customer service aspect of this company is absolutely horrible and I feel like we have been more than patient with trying to get everything squared away with our account. I WOULD NOT suggest getting AT&T at all or taking advantage of any limited time free upgrades. There are more minor issues we have experienced with AT&T and our bills like bundling but overall this was the last straw and switching to a different carrier is in our future. It's not the headache. read more

The lawn mowing service had run into and dented and turned the dish. Not Directv' s fault. All fixed and I'm happy.

I have never had so much trouble buying something and then they claimed to require a social security number because they are considered a utility. Then when I complained they admitted that they can accept my credit card info and drivers license info instead of a social security number. Don't believe anything they say. read more

DIRECTV has been a nightmare to deal with and has taken chaos to a new high and customer service to a new low. We were on the phone with April, in the billing department, to discuss the severe spike in our bill. After first suggesting we switch to a less expensive package, she then back-peddled telling us it was an international package that we were not eligible for. Why she suggested it in the first place, I'm not sure. Finally, after about 40 minutes of her not answering our questions and still being unable to explain the spike in our bill, she told us that we were able to cancel our subscription outright without any cancellation fees. She reassured us multiple times that we would be able to cancel immediately and that there would not be any fees associated with our cancellation. After transferring us to someone who could process the cancellation we were then told that April was wrong and that there would in fact be a $180 cancellation fee that we would be forced to pay. After over two hours of talking to several DIRECTV employees, DIRECTV refused to honor what the first employee (April) had told us. After wasting over two hours, we were told that there was nothing more they could do to help us tonight. Please, please, please think twice before switching to DIRECTV. Nobody at DIRECTV seems to know what they are doing and they do not hold their employees accountable for poor customer service or giving out completely incorrect information to customers. How is it acceptable for employees to give customers false information without any accountability? We are Costco members and signed up for DIRECTV through Costco. Little did we know that it would be such a nightmare. We love Costco, and their AMAZING employees and customer service, but are so disappointed with the lack of integrity from DIRECTV. Hopefully Costco will reconsider doing future business with DIRECTV. read more

If I could give Direct Tv/ ATT a negative star....I would! Been waiting all morning for technician to show up! Appointment scheduled 8-12. Received Phone call recorded message @ 10:04 that not too worry technician would arrive within window. 12:30 no tech and no phone calls! Looked on computer @ account info and appointment somehow cancelled! No phone call! No message! Nothing!! Spoke to several "receptionist" @ Direct TV that could not give me any reasons why cancelled! Except that tech said your were not @ home! Never left home and been answering telemarketing calls all morning in case it was them! Only resolution they gave me was to reschedule appointment for Thursday afternoon! Unbelievable!! Worst customer service ever! Guess you can't speak to the techs! They are the Wizard of Oz...man behind the curtain! And with the NFL ticket we pay them $250 monthly! Totally frustrated! And I guess if they don't show Thursday...you just speak to someone with no power again and get no resolution again! May have to give up on Direct Tv and AT&T! read more
