Pricing in this industry is always partially-fixed like gas stations on a major intersection, so you're really just looking at service as the differentiator. Tech guys are very nice and conscientious. That is a big plus. Phone support is based out of Moncks Corner, and hit-or-miss. 1 of 4 calls is handled well. The other 3 phone reps act like they've never heard of the services they provide. It would be comical if I didn't work out of my house and depend on Internet reliability. Website tech support? Your grandmother's blog is better than their website. What, your grandmother doesn't have a blog? It's still better than their website. My Grandma is still talking smack because it's still awful) These guys seem to be getting all new neighborhoods so you don't have to worry about it. We have been told for 7 weeks now that our fiber is being installed. Now when I call they say that they are working in the area and when it's established they will set up service 7 to 10 days after. Mind you last week contractors came and already added the line to my house and they still have yet to establish service, and yes I called again but got the same response. Possibly the worst experience I've had with any Internet company to date. If ANY other service was in the area I would have already opted with them. The connection is horrible and we have to constantly turn our wifi on and off to be able to watch movies or do anything else that requires an internet connection. He installed our new internet service in record time and made sure everything was good to go before leaving. I live in a neighborhood where this is the only internet company available. The connection is awful consistently, which is a constant problem for a remote employee. I have missed several days this year because of the lack of service. When you call customer care, they say there is nothing they can do but to have the repair team reach you. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said there was no one available. A few months back, the company was hacked and we lost our services for about a weekend. The quality of wifi is never what you expect. They allegedly send bills and I had my autopay set up so I could get a "great deal" on the wifi deal that they had. 1 GBps is good for $70 a month. Not only did it somehow get turned off, they aren't honoring the deal and I pay almost $90 now for the 1 gig plan that I'm only really getting about 600MBps. Not worth your time or money if you have other options. Still better than Xfinity tho..... read more

This company goes cheap and their customers pay for it. I moved here in December of 2021 and pay for their highest tier of TV service. They recently transitioned to streaming only with cloud DVR service as the only option. They don't allow you to record HBO or Cinemax, so unless you stay awake 24 hours a day you will not see the series or movie that you paid for. Their on demand is a joke, with most programs not available, or even worse, stuck on an episode for weeks and not updated to the latest one, or once you click on them are actually a different program. Need to call them on the weekend? Forget about it, they're not open on weekends or holidays. The service is overpriced and worthless. The sports coverage is almost non-existant, with MLB games impossible to watch unless you pay $25 a month to a separate company to stream the games, but of course you can't record streaming, can you? They have a monopoly because they own the fiber to the home and won't allow other companies to access it. I would strongly suggest using satellite TV coverage instead, even with the outages in storms because at least you can record the content you paid so much for. read more

Horrible company and their practices are substandard. Cancelled my service in February, turned my equipment in 3 weeks before next payment. They took out my automatic deduction and it will be a total of 3 months before I get my refund. This is unsatisfactory practice and no small amount. I am owed my $320. I lived in Four seasons Cane bay for past three years. Everyone in this community is complaining about home telecom. Most have switched to other streaiming services. The intercom stinks, when you do speed test you never get what you paid for. Then when you want to complain they say they did away with your previous speed so you need to upgrade internet speed. Pricing is not comparative with other areas for internet. You even get a discount with four seasons, it's a joke! The TV advertized home TV to go, it's useless. We have a second home and couldn't get it to work, only to your phone or laptop and not all channels apply. We were stuck into the internet and opted out of the TV, still not worth it. Glad we moved away. We tried to decipher our last bill and needed a college degree to do it! Just paid and good bye home telecom! read more

Good luck calling them after hours and leaving a voicemail message. None of my out-of-state relatives believe how high our monthly bills are. We've had only great experiences with Home Telecom. We moved in a little over a year ago and have had rock solid fast service the entire time. Yesterday our internet went out for the first time. I called their service line and after some proficient troubleshooting over the phone it was determined that the box outside our house was unresponsive and they'd need to send a technician out. When Javon arrived he was extremely prepared and super friendly. He was able to track down the problem very quickly. The case for the power supply had a slight crack in it and rain from the downpour we'd had earlier had gotten in and caused it to malfunction. Javon went out to his truck and got a replacement power supply, installed it, and had us up and running in no time! All this while he was standing out in the rain the entire time. I've been using home telecom since I moved in my home in October 2020. Honestly it's a new build and I didn't have any other option, as no other providers currently service my area in Goose Creek. I immediately signed up for auto pay and this company can rarely get my auto pay correct. I believe it's been correct twice. The past two months I've had a credit because they double charged two months ago, this month I owe $1 because of the overage they took. Then on two separate occasions I was a month behind because apparently their system malfunctioned and didn't auto draft my account. The internet service itself is decent but I do NOT recommend signing up for auto pay, as you never know if it's going to work and how much their going to take. read more

Their system stated mail returned..but no one bothered to call to get address or read the application with the correct mailing address. I've had this service for over 5 years. Yes, they are expensive. But I'm writing this due to their exceptional customer service. I recently discovered a billing issue that I had never noticed. I called, rather upset about the whole thing, but in the end the Accounting Manager resolved everything to my satisfaction. I've rarely had to call about technical issues but when I have everyone I've spoken with has been patient, pleasant and proactive. My tv picture is exceptional, my wifi rather fast under most circumstances. I don't have telephone service.
