When I had asked for a doctor's note from Dr. Paik's assistant, Jackie, to give to my employer,I…read morereceived an unprofessional and rude response to "Never request for another Doctor's note again." the purpose for this doctor's note was due to the split open, peeling skin and bleeding wounds on the bottoms of my feet and toes which made it very painful and difficult to walk in my work boots at my place of employment. I was upset but more so, confused that I was denied because my request for a note if needed, especially when she was aware of my condition of open, bleeding wounds at the bottom of my feet made it extremely painful to walk at my place of employment. After leaving the office that day, I reluctantly continued my visits and treatment at Dr. Paik's establishment, keeping in mind that if I were to be met with any other additional bad behavior I would seek medical attention elsewhere. Then During my last appointment with Dr Paik in June, 2023, I was very uncomfortable with her bedside manner when I asked about possibly trying another medication. Dr.Paik's responses was very unprofessional and impolite tone. She snapped, "You're not getting any other medication, nothings working for you"! She then rolled your chair unreasonably close to me, leaned intimidatingly into me and asked in a condescending tone "Miss XXX tell me about your daily routine?" I interpreted her demeanor as one of frustration as her behavior suggested to me she was frustrated that nothing seemed to be working and she didn't know how to treat me. So, it was just easier for her to place blame on me that I purposely was causing my condition to myself from excessive hand washing and or dowsing myself in bleach. To make matters worse, she abruptly dismissed me from her office with no other medical treatment, guidance, or helpful information whatsoever. Dr.Paik's bad behavior along with being dismissed from her office left me sickened with fear knowing what I would soon endure with no medical support. Unsurprising, in a matter of just 2 weeks, my hands and feet exploded with unimaginable dryness and numerous open wounds, where they excessively peeling and bled. She wrongly diagnosed me with eczema, then later, dermatitis. I'm unclear as to why you didn't refer me to a specialist if she was unable to properly diagnose and treat my condition. Since my last appointment with Dr.Paik, I have found another dermatologist who has been nothing but wonderful and kind towards me. After my new physicians careful review of my condition, I was then properly diagnosed with a disease, not self harm as Dr.Paik claimed. I'm now having positive, healthy results. I'm unclear as to why your a "Doctor" who is supposed to help people but yet you treated me so badly....

In context I was stating that my hair-line had receded since the last visit; which I don't recall affirmation of, then I wanted to use their reference images to validate my claim. So either it was dismissive, evasive, or both. 3) Dr Biren informed me that finasteride is not FDA approved and treated as "under the table." The implication; IIRC, being that its not really prescribed or approved to address male pattern baldness. Much like how Minoxidil was originally prescribed for high blood pressure - The assertion (or implication?) is that even today these drugs are prescribed "under the table" as they are not intended to address balding at all. I took her word at the time but quick research shows that Finasteride has been FDA approved for male pattern baldness since the 90s. 4) While they brought up potential blood pressure monitoring; as they prescribed Oral Monoxidil in the prior visit, they both did not follow up and seemed to have misplaced the tools needed for blood pressure measurement? I even expressed excitement over getting my blood pressure readings at the time. I was recommended by a Monterey Primary care doctor who did not know what Finasteride was at all. Stated it was another name for Minoxidil. Then recommended this Dermatologist once it became evident that assertion was false. Is this a thing with Monterey doctors? I have already spent hundreds of dollars and been delayed for almost a year (IE Primary doctor - Dermatologist initial - Dermatologist follow up). My initial goal was to; basically, get a prescription for Finasteride and have my health indicators monitored for negative side-effects. Instead I'm told Finasteride == Monoxidil and that Finasteride is not FDA approved. I really don't know what to make of that. Incredibly frustrating. The general attitude I sensed from my visits was; basically, that I should just accept that I am balding. I can respect that sentiment to an extent but then why prescribe Minoxidil and schedule a follow-up? I can see myself being dissuaded from using Finasteride but I do not believe it is acceptable to do so under false basis. Addendum: I also recall not being able to get a cost projection before leaving the practice and scheduling the theoretic follow-up appointment? Even this seems a bit... Unethical?
