DSS owner, I have really had to spend some prayer time over what to do about his review. I feel that I have really been blessed over the last 28yrs here at DSS with so many amazing clients. As far as his statement is concerned some of it is accurate. His siren apparently didn't work, we had had a recent storm so who knows. However, when the system is armed it chirps the siren letting you know it armed. If you didn't hear it that means HEY, the siren has an issue. So we went to replace it for free, as we usually do at that account. If you've been in business for very long you know what I mean. I am the one who went to the city and helped them start the alarm permit system. And NO, I've never paid a penny to the city on Ryan's behalf nor have we had to pay for any client so we have absolutely no idea what he's talking about. We have never had a problem with false alarms. Back to the truth, I totally redid the system for less than it cost to install as we could get another 3yr agreement which he signed. I didn't mind doing it because they had been with us for about 20yrs. So dss pumped out a lot of time and money to redo this very old system at about a $1000 less than it would have cost. Once completed, getting paid was not eventful. We completely automated his thermostats etc all the extras were at cost and no labor charged. Anyone else would be thankful and elated to receive such service and small expense. Our staff had a little chuckle when Ryan said he was leaving right after the renovation. We thought, who else would service him for free most of the time. It doesn't feel good to be taken advantage of but I have to admit that it was a slick plan. Get all new equipment, then change companies. I went to visit the owner of the company he went with and we had a nice visit about what they would be experiencing. He even went as far as go track down my 3rd party rep and try to get me in trouble with them. My rep just laughed and said you have all 5 STARS with every client and you've been w us for over 20 years. Don't worry about it, he must have some personal issues and just move on. So we did. I did turn him over to collections, THAT might have done it. I hope he finds some peace in his life. read more

I have found that the biggest complainers are the ones who REFUSE to pay their bills or wait until they've had their system for years. It's so sad that people would rather complain than be adult enough to realize that most of the problems with any system is "user" error. Ralph Wallace is one of the most dedicated, caring and responsible business owners that I've had the pleasure of working with. Our Sr. Technician, Chris, who has been here for 20 years now, is one of the most thorough and caring individuals that I've ever met. My advice to disgruntled customers is this...pay your bill on time and if you have ANY issues, we promise to take care of them. Bad mouthing a business for something that isn't even our fault, shows complete immaturity and lack of sense. I normally don't go to the trouble to do reviews but the Team at DSS has just been great to me again so I decided what the heck. I am older gentleman and have been around a long time in corporate America, so I've seen my share. It's not often these days to find a company with solid values and a real love for what they do and they seem to really love their clients. They just made me feel like family. Sometimes a smaller company is better, more one on one I guess. I did some research before going with them years ago and realized that they are the guys that actually brought real high tech security and Automation to East Texas. We have had an excellent experience with the services provided by DSS for both our home in Houston and our property in rural East Texas. Following a break-in attempt at our Houston residence, Mr. Wallace promptly came out and installed a high-tech security system. This was especially important, as my husband's sister was visiting from out of town and was present during the incident, which was understandably very unsettling. The system he installed has given us confidence that our home and family are well protected. For our East Texas property, I have complete trust in Mr. Wallace and his team to ensure the security of the home. When DSS staff members installed my security system, they were prompt, very knowledgeable, and professional. DSS did high quality work and were obviously up to par on the latest technology. I love that I do not have to call some 1-800 number out of Houston when I have questions. Usually Mr. Wallace himself calls me back promptly and answers my questions. This type of "Down home" personal service is worth a whole lot to me, especially in a time where it seems Customer service is put on the Back Burner with most Businesses.
