I've been going to Salon Professional Academy for shampoos/haircuts/blowouts over the past 5 years…read moreor so. Students there provide many types of salon services beyond cutting and coloring hair, and the work is checked out by an instructor before you pay and leave. To be sure, over the years and depending on the student, the quality of work may vary... but this can happen at a regular salon as well. The student who most recently cut my hair is about to graduate (after about 7 months of training), and her overall skills are great. She's ready to be in a regular salon. If you have concerns about someone being new at their craft, you can always ask for a more experienced student like the one I had. The products used at this place are mostly Redken, but other quality products are available as well. If you're in the north Round Rock - Georgetown area and are looking for a relatively inexpensive service, give Salon Professional Academy a try.

I came here for the first time last week and got my haircut by Sadie and she did a great job and…read moretook her time! I loved the turnout! Came back here today to get a pedicure (by someone else - can't remember her name). It was awful. She literally told me she's into doing hair and not pedicures. Also said she lost her scrubber thing so didn't even use a foot file or anything on my feet?? That's the main thing I wanted when getting a pedicure. The water was barely even "warm". I had like 4 colors to choose from. And the polish was all over my skin ‍. She was a nice girl so I didn't complain to her about it but just kept thinking in the back of my head once the "educator" comes to check her work she will at least have her clean up the polish. But nope she said "looks good" and left. Oh, the girl who did my pedicure told me it was $15; I go to the counter to pay and this lady says it's $25? I still tipped her anyway.. so $30 wasted bc I had to go home and take the polish off and repaint myself. Would not recommend coming here for pedis.

Picture it. It's the late '70s. I'm maybe 8 years old. My dad brings home a Yamaha 80 motorcycle. I…read morecan still see it--it was white and yellow. My older brother was pretty sure it was really for him. So I didn't get to ride it nearly as much as I'd have liked. But I did ride some and liked it a lot. Forward 30-some years and my son is in high school/college and needs transportation. I buy him a Yamaha Virago 250 and ride it a handful of times. Forward another couple of years and I decide to upgrade the kid's Virago to a new Triumph Street Triple 675. I ride it up and down our country road and decide it's pretty fun--as in a blast. I took the advice of Paul, the sales guy at Woods Fun Center, and signed up for Jude's Intermediate class. I'm pretty nervous about it, but I show up early, get some confidence on (just riding the bike all the way to Elgin pumped me up a bit) and was ready to go. I learned A TON. Jude is a top-notch instructor and clearly put a lot of work along with the other designers of this course. They created a really worthwhile, action-packed day of skill- and confidence-building that really made the money spent a bargain. Face it--riding motorcycles is a dangerous game however you look at it. But framed in the context of living in Austin traffic-hell Texas, I'm signing my son up for this class and I encourage any rider to do the same. It was clear to me that the other guys who took this course with me--seasoned riders one and all--came away with the same impression as I--that they really benefitted a great deal from Jude's instruction and challenge-coaching.
