She has always felt comfortable and happy with the coaches and staff and really appreciates being at a small gym and being able to know most of the cheerleaders on the teams. Earlier this year, they moved into a beautiful new facility and offer lots of tumbling classes, and even ninja classes for those who don't want to compete and just want to tumble. The gym is nice and clean and has ample viewing area for parents to watch tumbling class or practice.

If the student will be graduating soon, the only continuity is having the current student set you up with someone they like who isn't as far along in the program. This is a nice touch Can't beat the price or experience for a wash, cut, and blow dry. And there are many more services available.

I am not going to name the individual who worked on me to be respectful to her, but I will say the girl who colored and styled my hair needs a lot more training before she is ready to really work on hair. I left with hair dye all over my forehead, my sideburns were soaked with dye and behind my neck by that wasn't the worst of it. I didn't notice how much dye was left in my hair until I got to my car and started running my fingers through my hair. But I was wondering how the hair stylist working on me didn't notice the dye all over my face? Also, my curls, if you can call them that - turned out horrible with tons of frizz on the top of my head, I absolutely hated the way my hair turned out, total waste of money and time. I walked out spending $125 on a single color process, deep conditioning, styling and a hair product - way too much if you ask me for how things turned out. I understand these people are in training and I get that. The prior hair stylist who worked on my hair at this salon did a great job, but she graduated and suggested this newer gal. I trusted the process, but the process didn't turn out well at all. I will say the new gal who worked on me was kind. I am sure she was trying to do her best, but when dealing with someone's hair the basics like being removing all the dye out of someone's hair so it doesn't stick to their face and remain gooey in their hair is imperative - I needed to really wash my hair when I got home, also knowing how to do basic curls in someone's hair should be fundamental - the gal who worked in me had no idea how to curl hair at all. For those wondering why I didn't say anything during my visit, when I looked in the mirror and saw what a mess my hair was, I just wanted to get out and leave and just never come back, which I won't. Then when I went to the register to get rung up it took forever as I was standing their waiting because they were training another lady how to use the register. I believe I realized while I appreciate the lower price point on service at the salon academy, and understand most of the people working their are in training, it's simply not worth it to me to work with people in training who don't really know what they are doing yet, with the risk of messing up my hair and then walking out unhappy. I would rather pay a higher premium working with an experienced stylist knowing I am walking out feeling good with nice hair. I will not be returning to the salon Acedemy in Georgetown.

Our boys never were fortunate to swim in one of their groups; but Paige & Daniel left a positive and lasting impression on our entire family. We were mostly around Paige due to swimmer ages. Paige is one of those people whose positive radiance will catch your attention the first time you meet her! She and Daniel both are amazing team, community, and individual builders! Paige was always greeting new families, connecting them to other families, and helping young swimmers connect with older peers at meets for support. The McCords were always a source of positivity at every meet for all ages and types of swimmers! Our oldest once had Paige coach his group when he was 11; in 15 minutes she had more positive impact on his stroke technique than he had in a few years! Our entire family thinks the McCords are an enormous gift to the swim community!!!

Picture it. It's the late '70s. I'm maybe 8 years old. My dad brings home a Yamaha 80 motorcycle. I…read morecan still see it--it was white and yellow. My older brother was pretty sure it was really for him. So I didn't get to ride it nearly as much as I'd have liked. But I did ride some and liked it a lot. Forward 30-some years and my son is in high school/college and needs transportation. I buy him a Yamaha Virago 250 and ride it a handful of times. Forward another couple of years and I decide to upgrade the kid's Virago to a new Triumph Street Triple 675. I ride it up and down our country road and decide it's pretty fun--as in a blast. I took the advice of Paul, the sales guy at Woods Fun Center, and signed up for Jude's Intermediate class. I'm pretty nervous about it, but I show up early, get some confidence on (just riding the bike all the way to Elgin pumped me up a bit) and was ready to go. I learned A TON. Jude is a top-notch instructor and clearly put a lot of work along with the other designers of this course. They created a really worthwhile, action-packed day of skill- and confidence-building that really made the money spent a bargain. Face it--riding motorcycles is a dangerous game however you look at it. But framed in the context of living in Austin traffic-hell Texas, I'm signing my son up for this class and I encourage any rider to do the same. It was clear to me that the other guys who took this course with me--seasoned riders one and all--came away with the same impression as I--that they really benefitted a great deal from Jude's instruction and challenge-coaching.
