Had an amazing experience here! Came in, talked with Sloan and she was super helpful in getting me exactly what I wanted. I was asking someone to be our wedding officiant and she helped me come up with what to engrave on the candle, did a mock up and then did it perfectly on the candle, she then wrapped it beautifully in the colors of my choice, gave me a card to write and is shipping it. From the second I stepped in, I was greeted by the lovely Maura who patiently and kindly showed me almost their entire line of fragrances. We sampled many of the top sellers in addition to ones she showed me that matched my preferred scent profile. Diptyque in general is one of those brands that you have to have an idea of what they are. Going there to without looking online about their products can be a little bothersome because the staff are there to help but they're also not going to hover (which may be good for a neurodivergent). They literally leave you alone to explore. I've also never seen more than 3 staff in there so when it's busy (which it usually is) expect a tad of rushing. It's only because they have to get to everyone and give everyone a "luxury" experience. Every time I've been there, I've "sensed" stuffiness but if you're cool, they're cool. Today Kyasjha helped me. She went above and beyond. I went there specifically for the Fleur de Peau body balm I've been wanting. Then I asked about the Eau Capitale fragrance I smelled and wanted some information on it. I was trying to move quickly since it started to get a little busy and it was just her and another associate. She was patient and helpful and decided to pick up the Set of 5 Eaux de toilette with some of her helpful recommendations. Happy to have a diptyque in the neighborhood but I will say there are some downsides. First and foremost, almost all of the staff is not friendly and smug. I have bought so much stuff from all of their locations and I was so excited to have a store here but these people just ruin it. Except for one girl who works there who is nice. Plus they're always out of stock on things. The last time I came in combined the smugness of the staff with their restocking issues. I asked for a hand soap bc the last time I came in they said it had sold out. I picked up the hand soap, showed it to him and he said "yes! We have it now. I'll grab it for you." I ended up not needing anything else so I went to the register to check out. That's when I noticed that he charged me for a refill bag. When I asked him why he did that he said "oh I thought you wanted a refill." So I asked him to refund me and rather than apologize and credit me he goes "don't you just have a bottle you can put it in?" AND THEN ROLLED HIS EYES AT HIS COWORKER. Dude- I worked in retail for a decade of my life. I can't imagine being this outright crappy to a customer. I was so uncomfortable after that and told him that no I didn't have a soap pump at home to which he responded that they were sold out of the soap and then I stood there awkwardly for 5 minutes as he took his time refunding me. It was so awkward I haven't been back since. Come for the not sold out products and leave quick! Talk to no one except that one girl lol. Today I ordered a candle online knowing that there may or may not be one just 4 blocks from my house. I'll never know. read more

My first Diptyque experience was at Rescue Spa and I loved the scents, so I drove to Brooklyn to get the full experience. My favorite house scent is Baies (light and floral with a hint of berries). My favorite perfume scents are Do Son (sea breeze and white floral) and Tam Dao (warm incense, sandalwood, and cedar). Is it worth $200 a piece? Yes and no. The scents are very unique and I like to collect perfumes so that was how I justified it. However, it is definitely on the pricer side and the perfume only lasts 3-4 hours max. If you are obsessed with a certain scent, then splurge. If not, I recommend the sample set or roll-ons. read more

She will take care of you! Crystal knows all things Diptyque and she is the absolute nicest and non-pushy, sales person you'd be lucky to ever meet. She taught us how to actually sniff a candle correctly, and helped me through the maze of scents to find one that I eventually left with. I wasn't planning on purchasing a candle and wanted to visit this shop just for fun since I recently gained my sense of smell back, but the genuine care and attention we received from her was special enough to want us to have the full experience of this candle-shopping moment. I went to the Diptyque store at the Brooklyn location to initially look around/sniff around. I was immediately greeted by a S.A name Gaby. We discussed the scents I like along with notes to find the best perfume and candles for me. Gaby was extremely knowledgeable and even provided me with a few samples of the fragrances that I was interested in. A few days later I purchased a kit that contained a tuberose candle + do son perfume along with the do son perfume oil. She was even able to provide me with tips on mixing different scents together. My first visit was initially to look around, but my sales associate was so great that I purchased all these items without giving it a second thought.
