Came after hearing great things about the product and then found out there's a spa. This is the only US location with a spa and it's tempting to go. I booked my appointment on the LUSH website and it was simple to pick out a date and give a description of the services. I settled for the validation facial which last 60 mins and it was amazing. I arrived a bit earlier and the shop smells amazing. Also, the staff that helped me was so helpful and sweet. Melissa arrived for my appointment and she was very informative and told me step-by-step of what will happen. We picked out the products that I wanted that personally suits me. We picked about 10 products is used for the facial. The facial felt amazing and at one point I think I fell asleep. She was so attentive and made sure I was comfortable. My partner and I are in NYC this week and my goal is to visit every Lush shop in this city. Yesterday, we visited Lush on the Upper East Side at 783 Lexington Ave. I was there for the Tangled Hair treatment at the Lush spa. (It was my first Lush spa treatment!) The staff on the sales floor checked me in for my service and showed me the items from the Wicked collab which dropped that day. They were all so friendly and helpful. The Tangled Hair treatment is a rejuvenating Japanese-inspired scalp experience. This treatment costs $60 and lasts 25 minutes. I was greeted by Melissa, one of the therapists, who walked me through the treatment during the consultation. She was amazing from start to finish. We entered the treatment room, which was bathed in soft, blue light. Melissa instructed me to take off my shoes (and anything else I wanted to remove by choice) and make myself comfortable. She left the room while I got comfortable and directed me to ring a bell as soon as I was ready. The music in the room featured a soothing bamboo flute, was created by Lush's creative music director, something Melissa told me about before the treatment. The relaxation I felt during the treatment was next level! Melissa expertly released all the tension in my head, face, neck and shoulders, hitting every pressure point perfectly. The massage was so calming that I could've fallen asleep. ...That is, until the cold stones were introduced at the end of the treatment. This was so refreshing and actually helped kick the migraine I walked in with. I left the spa feeling de-stressed, renewed and energized, as if I'd just woken up from a power nap. The staff here is so kind! Shout out to Chris, she was honestly amazing. She gave me a whole background on the foundation of Lush, as well as providing excellent recommendations! She was so attentive and kind, she really sold me on everything lol. I would've bought the whole store if I could. It was my first time shopping at Lush and I left with so many goodies thanks to her. I also smell better than I've ever smelled in my life, my scent literally lingers when I leave a room haha! I tried their new tangled hair and snow fairy bath upstairs in their spa area and it was awesome! First of all when you walk in the store you are greeted with amazing scents and customer service. The hardest part is choosing what to buy. They have bath bombs in all beautiful colors, shapes and scents but they also have skincare, body glitter and a whole lot more. The tangled experience is like a head massage and the bath you get a private bath area in a very beautiful ambiance with a ton of Lush products. Ok, stop what you are doing and make an appointment at the Lush Spa at this location. I came here with my adult kid and we both had the "Tangled Hair" treatment. Shaniya and Amani were the two specialists who took care of us, but I suspect that all the staff there are top notch as well. Suffice it to say, the combo of amazing Lush spa products and professional spa specialists made it an out-of-this-world experience. Cait, the manager, is super-friendly and can answer all your questions. Also, if scheduling a spa treatment on the app seems awkward, just call Cait to schedule it. read more

I think its great because, sometimes you are overwhelmed and you cant really see if you like a product... with the sample you can sample lets say 3 different face creams in a container take them home and see which one you want to buy. 3. You can walk in and be like I want this "thing to like clean my face" they will show you three or more options, all you need to do is go in with a slight idea of what you are looking for and let the lush associate magicians guide you. 6. Sadly, the Lush Spa has closed so now this is just another Lush Store. Found this out while trying to book an appointment for my Birthday. This location is average for lush- typical small, crowded NYC storefront. They're the typical, "Do these people work on commission?!" (Answer: No. They really should though) Lush employees, so I wouldn't recommend coming in if you're not in the mood to be helped by someone. They seem to have a good amount of stock compared to some other locations in the city, namely 14th Street, so when I'm in the neighborhood and need something I'll drop by for it sometimes. (Open one in Brooklyn! Park Slope!) But yeah. Kinda disappointing to learn about the Spa. read more

I have to say I was rather disappointed in the service at Lush on Lexington Avenue today. I walked in to Christmas shop as I do each year. Today there were no other guests in the store and I was basically attacked before I had a chance to look at my list. I was told to wear my mask and wash my hands if I wanted to touch anything. I had my mask on as I always do and was wearing it appropriately! I proceeded to ask for products that contain Lime oil extract which is touted on the Lush website as a key ingredient. The staff looked at me like I had three heads as they knew nothing about the lime oil products. That goes back to training of the staff and product knowledge. Finally when I was being wrung up I was asked if I wanted the items out in a bag???? I bought ten products....that's a bit challenging to carry without a bag wouldn't you say??? Thankfully I don't work near this store or else I'd be spending waaaaay too much on Rose-scented everything. I walked in this afternoon and was immediately greeted by a very helpful salesperson (totally forgot her name, sorry!). I've never been to a Lush store but I've received a ton of Lush items as gifts, so I was really happy to take any help that was given. I didn't know where to start. I wanted the Rose Jam body wash and cream, but settled on a Rose Jam set that comes with 3 medium sized items - body wash, body spray (SO GOOD), and the body conditioner that you wash off in the shower. $45 is a bit pricey for this trio but definitely something I was looking for. I also got a free sample of something else that smells amazing. Can't wait to give that a try. FYI - the spa is located upstairs. Definitely interested in trying that out! read more

The staff is very helpful if you have a question about ingredients or how to use something. The bath bombs here are fabulous. Being a fan of Lush for about 4 years now, having the opportunity to go to the Lush Spa in New York City, on my birthday, was a dream come true for me. Deciding on a treatment was pretty tough, duh, I wanted all of them! I chose the Hard Day's Night, because it seemed like a good one to do as a couple. We showed up about an hour early, due to the fact I had requested use of the tub before and after. Unfortunately, they were only able to offer it to us after the treatment, which meant only one of us was able to enjoy the tub. Pretty disappointing, but considering this is a FREE extra, upon request only, I couldn't be too upset. About 5 minutes prior to our treatment, therapists Rick and Patty welcomed us upstairs to the spa area. They went over a few basics, asked questions, and explained the treatment. We were then lead into a dim lit room and given warm pajamas to put on. I do not want to go too much into detail about the treatment, because some things should be left a surprise. I will say, this was similar to a yoga class, where someone else moves your body for you. VERY enjoyable and relaxing. I was a tad bit sore the next day, but it was a good pain. One telling me I probably should stretch like that WAY more often. And by chance they ever bring one of these to my city of Las Vegas, I will spend entirely too much money here. Speaking of the prices, in general Lush is not a cheap product. They offer a very unique experience unlike any other you will ever have at a normal upscale spa in Las Vegas or New York. For what we received, I'd say the pricing is very fair and comparable. It was about $400 for a treatment for two the lasted about an hour and a half, and came with a bath bomb as a parting gift. (A UK Lush Kitchen exclusive bath bomb I may add) Upon leaving the room, they ended with hot tea and crumpets as my therapist ran my warm bath and got the rain shower ready for my boyfriend. If you are a Lushie such as myself, you will majorly appreciate the amount of free product in the showers and bathrooms that you are free to use. I left smelling oh so good! I just want to say this is my favorite Lush location. Cam was so welcoming from the second I walked in. I told him what I was looking for and my skin concerns and he was so sweet and made me a platter of different products according to everything I told him OMG made my day and he was so pleasant. He explained every single product while applying it on how to use it and also when. Wow i am so happy and satisfied. I didnt even notice until i got home that he put a surprise for me in my bag and it was a full size bar of face soap. This was seriously one of the best experiences of my life. I had the synesthesia massage, which apparently is their signature treatment. After asking you a series of questions, you look up at a board and try to see what jumps out at you. You select a treatment based on what you are feeling and what words you choose. I chose "ambition," and at that point everything was tailored for me, from the music to the colors of the walls to the focus of my massage - and most importantly, the scents. It was such a great, one of a kind experience. It was pricey, and not something I would do again due to the price, but it is definitely something I recommend everyone try once. I would love to come back and try the other lush spa treatments. This was definitely one of the best things I did for myself during my New York trip. This is one of only two US Lush Spa locations, and since there isn't one where I live, I thought while I was in New York it was a must-try. Don't regret it at all. Lovely location, lovely service. My therapist trekked through frosty sub-zero temperatures in a severe snowstorm the day of my treatment, so extra super bonus points to her. Had she not shown up, I would have never had a chance to reschedule (they told me they were booked for weeks coming in, but that could be temporary because they just opened - so always book in advance is my recommendation!). Aside from that, it's a regular Lush store with all the great Lush products. I would love to shop here on my next visit, but let's be honest - the Spa is such a hit I will reserve any extra traveling cash for that if I get to come back. Lush's treatments are more of an experience and pays careful detail to all 5 senses. I had The Good Hour & Jay was my therapist -- I highly recommend him! He was so personable and friendly as he described the treatment and what to expect. I see a ton of 5 star ratings for the Lush Spa and I am going to fall into line just like my fellow yelpers. What a great spa!! The rooms are clean and quiet. The staff is lovely. The massage was terrific. I had the Synaesthesia (a mother's day present from the hubby). It was a medium to light touch massage that incorporated some hot stones. Rick, my massage therapist, was terrific and extremely professional. He took the time to explain the treatment I was getting and give me the background on Lush Spa. I came back today 'cause my friend needed to see if they had grease lightning back in stock (they do!). We were greeted by Tyler who was so friendly and offered to help if we needed anything, a definite plus from my previous experience. I purchased a BB seaweed mask and the cashier was so friendly. Oh. My. Goodness. I'm a different person after receiving The Planets treatment. Leading up to today, I was starting to become afraid that I'd be disappointed. I am not. It was an extremely therapeutic experience and my therapist was incredible. I don't want to get into the nitty gritty but you do feel very special and it feels like a very shared experience with your therapist. I'm so happy I got to experience it. I loved their treatment room and the facilities. The decor was perfection and you feel worlds away from the city. I encourage you to linger in the "kitchen" to get your bearings before going downstairs after your treatment because the bustling store and reality was quite a shock. Regardless, if you're after an incredible spa experience different than anything else you've ever gotten, I highly recommend The Planets. I want to return some day soon for another treatment. Protip: plan your lunch out before you get your treatment. I couldn't think straight after the fact and wandered into a weird little lunch all by myself. read more

The kindness of Lush's employees will be the death of my wallet. I met Colleen, a sweet and knowledgeable employee, while transferring from the 6 to the F. This spot is a trap--I told myself no and walked past only to swerve right back around, commencing a 20 minute detour inside the shop. I left with a toner, a serum bar, face mask sample, and a body lotion (the profits of which support LGBT rights!) Lush employees so passionately believe in the ethics of the brand and use the products themselves (to great success, I have to say. I was in awe of Colleen's skin) that I feel confident when I ask for a recommendation. There's tea tree toner and the Cosmetic Warrior Face Mask for calming down angry acne. There are hair masks for your grandma's thinning hair and a peppermint beard cleanser that doubles as a face wash for your boyfriend's unruly beard. On top of that, Lush is so unapologetically progressive that I had to buy Charity Pot, an ultra moisturizing body lotion, during this campaign season when 100% of the proceeds of two featured products will go towards supporting LGBT organizations. While eco-conscious, it has to be said that not all Lush products are all-natural. While writing this review I realized that many of the products contains fragrance or perfume. If you want to be as safe as possible, you might have to do some research using the website's ingredient finder (lushusa.com/ingredient-finder) as well as an unbiased source like EWG's Skin Deep database (ewg.org/skindeep/) which rates ingredients by their hazard levels. From what I can tell from a quick search, their unnatural ingredients rank low in danger. In comparison, I'm sure even my beloved SheaMoisture products have unnatural ingredients in them. I also suggest declining help if you don't want to make a purchase because the enthusiasm of the employees will definitely convince you to leave with more than you need. I am a Lush addict and my partner got me a the Validation spa package as an anniversary gift while we were visiting NYC. Downstairs is like a regular Lush store, but upstairs where the spa is, transports you to an English countryside. It's an involved mind, body and soul experience. I greatly enjoyed my "Validation" facial massage by Patty. She was fantastic and made me feel fantastic. They use products from downstairs, as well as some exclusive to the spa experience. I am taking off a point for lack of accessibility and no mention of this until the day before. I'm used to things not be accessible, but I wish it would state it on their website. The other thing that kind of bugged me, while they are nice enough to give you a few of the things they used during the treatment, they were out of the exclusive to spa items like the temple balms. I was prepared to buy them, but they were out... (except for the window display ones) I just feel like rather than perhaps give items that one could buy in any of their shops, they'd toss the exclusive things in. - As for the price of the treatment itself, I feel it makes sense to do so. Otherwise, it is a wonderful experience and I strongly recommend it. I hope to be back again sometime. read more

She helped me in choosing shower products for my boyfriend and when I got to the counter to pay she asked if I wanted free samples. I'm a new customer and they had not mentioned it the first time, but I knew of them later when I read stuff online. I made a mental note to ask next time I was in. I love Lush products, so after a particularly brutal final I decided I would try to make an appointment. Booking is super easy online and I was able to get an appointment within a few days. I opted for the Synesthesia Massage. I enjoyed being asked to pick a goal for the session and I selected "peace". They do not allow you to smell the scent until the message begins. You also pick a second goal for the massage and I selected "focus". While I like the personal tailoring, if you did not like the scent that your goal was related to, you most likely would not have liked your massage very much. I feel like this could be a real possibility since this is Lush and they some unusual scents. The massage itself was good, though a bit lighter than I would have preferred. I recall reading that the lights were also programed to mesh with the music. But since my eyes were mostly closed during the message this wasn't super beneficial. Lastly, since they use their massage bars rather than massage oil, you will smell very strongly of whatever scent afterwards. To the point, people around me were asking what that smell was afterwards. Overall, it was a very interesting and relaxing massage. But as someone who prefer more pressure to deal with neck pain, I will not return. You can get a massage at a spa with full facilities for $80 less than Lush, so you are really paying for the novelty. read more

Top notch uniquely luxurious experience at the Spa! If you're looking for a special treat for yourself or a loved one - the Lush Spa services are unlike your average spa treatment. Jay is magical - he's an exceptional therapist and person... Highly recommend! I picked the Good Hour as a birthday treat to myself. Although they don't advertise prenatal services, I spoke to the manager and she recommended a couple therapists who have experience with pregnant clients. Jay used to practice in San Francisco and worked with a bunch of pregnant ladies out there. The Good Hour is top to bottom a unique experience. During your pre-massage chat, you pick a massage bar that you'd like (and get to keep afterwards!) and drop an oceany bath bomb into a pitcher for your room. They spare no detail - the hanging lamp and candles in the room make you feel like you're on a ship going out to sea. I'll admit the music might not be for everyone - it's sea chanties and ocean sounds that are meant to evoke a real boat-like experience as opposed to a beachy feel. I liked it! While the frills were great - the curated massage was a beautiful and wonderful treatment in and of itself. Probably the best massage I've ever had. I felt completely relaxed and rejuvenated. If available, I also highly recommend you ask if you can take advantage of the free bath they offer with every service. For my room, the bath was a connecting room off where I got my massage so it's like you have your own little suite. They provide everything you need... Towels, robe, and tons of Lush products for bath and post-bath at your disposal! The services are admittedly on the pricier range, so I felt that this offering helped justify the expense for me. She was so kind and talented beyond belief! I received both Synesthesia and The Good Hour. I really enjoyed my experience at the Lush Spa today. I've been a fan of Lush products for awhile, and received a gift card for the spa for my birthday. I assumed it would be a basic massage with some Lush scents, but it was really a top notch experience. I chose The Comforter, which is a hot chocolate and rose body scrub. When I came to the shop, Gloria greeted me and told me in depth about the spa treatment, which I appreciated- I felt taken care of every step of the way. They have separate rooms for each different spa treatment: The Comforter room was lit with twinkling lights, so the ceiling looked like a starry sky. The music is inspired by "childhood memories"- there were references to Peter Pan, Huckleberry Finn, etc. The massage table you lie on is heated and it's very relaxing. The massage itself was great and smelled incredible. I would love to come and do this massage again in the winter since it was so warm and cozy. The Comforter definitely lives up to its name!
