I noticed quite a few five star reviews for this joint on Yelp. This place is supposed to make the genuine NYC pizza with thin crust. I ordered 2 cannolis ($11) and an 18" Deluxe pizza ($25.25) with pepperoni, ground beef, mushrooms, sausage, onions, and black olives. When I arrived, David Wheelock, at the cash register, told me they had just removed my pizza. He handed me the box and said he had to go in the back to make the cannolis. I'm not sure if they really make them there or not, but they had lot of cream filling and weren't too sweet. The pizza had a lovely, crispy crust and a ton of toppings. I wish this place was closer. By the time I got home with the pie it wasn't hot anymore. Just warm. A very good representation of NY style pizza.

The ingredients tasted fresh, everything came out hot, and the pizza had plenty of flavor without feeling overdone. The crust was especially good: great flavor with that perfect balance of crispness and chew. The staff was friendly, attentive, and responsive throughout the visit, which made the experience even better. It's been a while, but Giovanni's reminded me why it has such a strong reputation.
