My husband and I got a 90 min massage where we were in the same room. It was nice that we were in the same room. Minus one star for the close train it just ruins the ambiance. I would suggest the owner play soft music. My husband loves his massage because his person used bars and walked on his back technique. My massage therapist did not use that technique because I am to sensitive. The foot massage was amazing. I really love hot stones that they used too. Within two minutes, she was able to use a technique and find a point in my arm that released a lot of the pain in my neck I had not been able to release through heat or foam rolling. I was also asked if I had a preference of male or female which I appreciated as well. When I arrived, I was immediately taken back into the treatment area and the masseuse walked in just a few minutes later. They did an excellent job, periodically checking in to make sure the pressure was okay. This is by far one of the best massages I have ever had in similar parlors. The price was also very fair and I will be back for treatments in the future. They asked me to keep my mask on the entire time, asked for proof of vaccination and did not massage me face up during the session. I appreciated this attention to safety. I took off a star because when it came time to pay, I asked the masseuse to give me a certain amount of change back, leaving them a $10 tip. They very curtly reminded me that the service needs to be tipped at 20%, which just made it $1 more. Great prices, amazing playlist and awesome massage. The staff are very welcoming and professional, and the massage I get here is very good. I've been here about three times so far, there's a loyalty punch card that I always forget to bring. The only downside is that it's right next to Court Square station, and I can hear the trains come and go. I don't understand how this place has high ratings. I've been to many many massage places and this was definitely not up to par. First it don't feel very clean coming in. There was a weird smell when you go in. The lady at the front greets you nicer than most places but that's not why we are here. The massage itself. I explained to them I would like the focus to be my right shoulder and neck and the first thing she does is jump up and step on my lower back. I paid for one hour and 10 minutes into it I had to ask her to use her hand because she kept slipping off and it was extremely uncomfortable. Instead of her hands i can tell she just used her elbow and kneaded into me. I had to stop her again to ask her to use her hands. Followed by an ok ok she just starts slapping my back with her palm/open hand. From then I was just thinking. She really has no idea what she's doing. The massage was cut short. I didn't even care to argue for the remaining time. And as I try to leave they yell at me saying I need to leave at least a $20 tip. I just paid 60 for what was supposed to be an hour massage but it lasted 40 minutes. And now you are demanding a $20 tip. She touched my skin through the huge towel that she used to cover my body, no directly touching. They covered pillow with new towels, I knew it was new towel because the laundry detergent lingering around the towel. The massage was very good, my pain was relief from My back. They are following all precautions for Covid. Temperature checks, sanitizing stations, and masks on through the whole visit. I went on a Sunday with my mother. We were the only customers there. Keep in mind you will undress to ur underwear. But they will cover you with a blanket. You are massaged through the blankets. They do not touch your skin directly and no oils were used. I was skeptical at first but the service was just as effective! I chose a man for my masseuse. Best decision ever!!! Mio is his name. Personable guy. He is certified in Japan and the US. He gave me a strongggg massage. Without me telling him, he could already tell my problem areas within my spine. He was so helpful and had a wealth of knowledge and referred me out to a specialist. I can't thank him enough. If you have back issues you already know what it means to have relief even for a second. This was truly life changing. I recommend this place ten times over. I went to Dion for a foot massage. Three star because the location is nice and clean and front desk manager was polite and accommodating. But the massage therapist named Leo was absolutely horrible, he refused to put any pressure on the soles (basically a rubdown) and when asked to apply some pressure, he said that's the best he can do and in fact that he doesn't do foot massage usually. Leo then proceeded to press extremely hard on the ankle and top of the foot, leaving me extreme discomfort even a week later - will need to go see a doctor if the condition does not improve. I was not planning on sharing this experience, but after seeing reviews from 2 customers with similar experiences, I feel obligated to share that I also had a very uncomfortable massage with a male masseuse at Dion Spa. His hands literally came in contact with my crotch while massaging my legs, to the point where eventually I turned around and said, "No, do not touch me above here (pointed to my mid thigh)." He also made comments about my flexibility, asked me if I practiced yoga, and at one point stretched my arms back to the point where my bare chest was almost completely flipped over and visible to him. I will add that I have only had positive experiences with female masseuses at Dion Spa in my visits, but this experience with the male masseuse was pretty awful. I strongly urge management to look do an investigation into their male employees. This was a couples massage so I'm sure if they talked to the other masseuses they could figure out who it was (I don't remember his name). read more
