If you are looking for a good time while you eat, Dio Modern Mediterranean may be the spot for you. With outside/indoor seating (ideally outdoors which is sitting on the sidewalk), you know it's going to be a good time. They have live music, a DJ, and dancers the night I went to dinner. It was a vibe! Not sure you can sit long enough to eat. One minute I'm eating my filet mignon kebab with fries (which is on the pricier side for Mediterranean food, I believe it was over $30). The next minute I'm dancing in the crowd on the sidewalk. Would recommend for groups or if you have visitors in Tampa Bay.

The food was great! We ordered the calamari and the gyro, everything was so flavorful. The waitress was nice and very attentive. We sat outside since it was a beautiful day. We were the only customers at the time. They were setting up for the evening events. Apparently they have belly dancers and bongos on Friday nights. We would've gone back but we already had plans for the evening. This was a nice little spot for a quick late lunch. The only downsides: how dirty and torn the menus were (disgusting... dried food everywhere) And the amount of destitute (dr*gs) people are constantly walking by you if you sit outside. There's a lot of them in that area A LOT. And they cause scenes on the sidewalk right where you're sitting. Just keep that in mind and sit inside.

I had an great time here. They had live music, dancers and hookah which really made the experience. Service was great. For the food, I had the ceviche to start and the lamb chops which were both delicious. I will say it is on the pricier side, but I would definitely recommend.

Went here with some coworkers. We were there around 6pm on a Wednesday. We were one of probably 5 tables seated. The service was great. Our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We got the mixed plate for an appetizer and it was a good amount of food for the price. One in our party ordered Calamari and didn't like her dish at all. she ate less than a quarter of it. I ordered the filet mignon kebab to share. It was $40(ish) and was only two small kebabs. Not enough to share and be satisfied. We each ordered a drink and each drink was not bad but not great for different reasons. The place was cute and staff friendly but I wouldn't say it would be somewhere worth going back.

I love Mediterranean food so I was surprised to have a hard time finding something on the menu to order. It wasn't extensive and it was expensive. Even just a glass of wine was over prices- same brand here compared to same brand elsewhere. There were no seats/tables inside- not sure why but the place was empty. Tons of empty tables outside. It was hot and since it's downtown there's not a lot of shade. I will say the food I ordered was good but in order not to break the bank I got lamb meatballs- an appetizer and a side salad. My total with one glass of wine with my husbands dish was still crazy. Our waitress however was amazing- I wish I could remember her name. She was amazing!

This was my 2nd time visiting Dio and it was just ok. The location and the vibes are great but the menu is super limited with only about 6 entrees to choose from & the night I went they were out of at least 2 of the dishes my table ordered. So we all settled on the chicken kabobs. They all came out with a grand presentation which was kind of funny considering our table was full of these chickens just dangling on a stick. I see the vision but they missed the mark as far as taste. We could see all the other tables ordering some kind of kabobs bc that's basically all they had on the menu. It was crazy to see how many of these kabob set ups they had knowing there wasn't enough food to serve the entire menu. Our under seasoned hanging chickens costed us a whopping $29 each which is a pretty steep price considering it didn't taste great at all. What we didnt finish we boxed up and gave to a unhoused person nearby. I guess this place is worth the experience being that it's a downtown Tampa hotspot, the drinks are great, they have hookah and live music. But keep your expectations low when it comes to the food.

We were staying at a nearby hotel for St. Patrick's Day weekend and decided to give this place a try on Saturday around 5. It was extremely busy both inside and outside because the parade had recently ended. We were lucky enough to get a table inside the restaurant. Service was quick from our waiter, despite the big crowd. The menu has about ten appetizers, several spreads, salads, and about ten entrees. We started with the dip combo, which was four different spreads with pita bread. We also ordered the vegetable platter to use with the spreads. They all tasted great. For our entree we split a filet mignon kabob, with asparagus and a Greek salad. The filet mignon was one of the best we have had. The asparagus was also outstanding because it was seasoned with garlic bits. We would definitely eat here again.

A wonderful first time here for our friends' birthdays. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Food was good! Love the ceviche!! I would only suggest AC in the indoor dining because it was pretty hot (I was sweating). Entertainment was fun and we loved the Austin Hope Cabernet ..

My mom and I had afternoon drinks and apps at Dio while visiting tampa for a show at the Tampa Theater. We came across Dio and enjoyed our time dining here. I love Mediterranean food so of course I enjoyed our meal. We ordered sangria and the hummus and grape leaves and I thought both dishes and the drinks were delicious. Having lived in Spain, I can't say no to a sangria and Dio is the perfect place to find that! The food tasted fresh and authentic and it was a nice place for a light snack. I like how they gave us lots of pita bread for the dip also ;). The service and ambiance was enjoyable. Our waiter was very friendly and responsive. The food came out quickly and I felt the menu offered a wide variety of Mediterranean options. Dio has outdoor seating although it isn't the nicest patio. I preferred to sit inside where they have a bright and welcoming ambiance. There is a bar as well as table seating for both large and small parties. It is also a plus that it was walking distance from the Tampa Theater! We had a lovely afternoon at Dio and I would recommend it to anyone looking to have a nice Greek inspired meal, or drinks with friends. :))

Hi Huda! Yes Dio’s meat is always (and only) halal. They also don’t carry pork if that makes it better.

Pro-tip: additional parking is located just down the street (look for the blue building with signage). I got to enjoy brunch on the outdoor patio (covered, breezy, and dog-friendly) recently and was blown away. We started with coffee and the aforementioned pastries (get them early because they all sell out!). The spanakopita was the perfect, flakey, savory intro and then paired perfectly with the sweet baklava coffee cake and croissant cinnamon roll. All three were exceptional and next time I'll go next door to their market and buy some to take home. From there we dug into breakfast dishes. I shared the Strapatsada (vegetarian, but you can add meat options), which is a Greek scramble with caramelized onion, roasted cherry tomato, creamy feta, grilled baguette; along with the Med Morning Yogurt Bowl (v, gf) featuring fresh berries, house granola, mint, greek thyme honey. The granola was clearly house-made and I would also opt to purchase it at the market if they sell it! Both dishes were satisfying and hit the savory/sweet combo I was searching for. Finally, the service was fabulous and friendly and they even brought a water bowl for my pup. Great spot and my #1 go-to when in Tampa now!

Fries were a good cut. Sauces were house made, what was it you ask - no idea. But don't care, they were great. Food was great. Just felt like I didn't fit in. Or maybe I just was not prepped/dressed to feel like I was in Mykonos on a cruise and that was the excursion for the day. Idk, good stuff overall.

The only miss for me was the raw white part of the green onions in the salad, they were a bit too chunky for my taste. The chicken, though? Perfectly grilled...crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. It came with a tzatziki sauce that was more on the liquidy side, which isn't my favorite texture, so I just used it as a dip for the chicken and hummus. Heads-up: the menu on their official site isn't updated, but if you Google "Tasty Mediterranean," it shows accurate prices and lets you order online. I was also shocked I had never heard of it. I went yesterday for the first time to have it in person and was blown away at the quality of food in terms of how fresh EVERYTHING was and how efficient the service was. The staff was so so wonderful. Cassie, Clayton, & Joy were all such a pleasure to meet and speak to. I'll be happy to go support them in their new location opening in Largo. Getting into the food - here's what we ordered and thoughts on each: - Trio of Spreads: Pesto Hummus, Roasted Garlic Feta, Tzatziki w/ grilled & fried pita chips. Each dip was INSANE and you could tell by the taste they were not only homemade but made to order. My favorite was the whipped feta but i could genuinely eat each of them everyday. They asked if we wanted the pita grilled or fried and when I asked which was better they gave us both! And I'm so glad they did because I really enjoyed both and had never had fried pita before (delicious of course). I will be getting this every time. I do remember the dips going crazy when we had gotten it catered and they hit just as hard this time around. - Chopped Greek Salad w/ potato salad. I had this infamous dish when we had it catered and I was literally addicted to the potato salad. I remember I had a plate of everything else then went back for a full plate of the potato salad. I definitely recommend getting this salad chopped over the traditional way as it is much easier to eat. So unique they add the pasta salad to it!! - Chicken Souvlaki Pita. I always get gyro pitas so was trying to switch it up here and I was so glad to finally try Chicken Souvlaki (I've had Greek sooo many times but never tried it) and it was SO yum. Definitely a good change of pace for me. - Gyro Pita Platter. Still needed to try out their gyro so got the platter which is basically a deconstructed pita. I love that you're able to add as much or little of each of the ingredients - it reminds me of taco nights! The gyro was fire of course. - Greek Feta Fries. These were seasoned to PERFECTION. I was stuffed but couldn't stop eating them. You gotta order these at every Greek place and constantly compare. These were a wedge vibe and the perfect amount of potato in my opinion (I'm Irish so I prefer a thick steak fry to a skinny mcdonald's fry). The flavor went crazy. EXTRA SAUCES - DONT SLEEP ON THE SPICY TZATZIKI

The five items I got, ranked from best to least best: 2 falafels-really good, hummus-very good, cucumber salad-good, cous cous-fine, beet salad-meh. Make sure you ask for the hot sauce - it jazzed everything up. The platter was served with a couple of pieces of pita, but there really needed to be more to dip into all the salads. The only available drinks were to purchase bottled water or bottled soda. I only ate about a third, but I will say it did not travel well. Because three of the salads were placed in the same section, by the next day all three salads were a combined soggy mess, and the only part that was still edible was the hummus.
