If you are looking for a good time while you eat, Dio Modern Mediterranean may be the spot for you. With outside/indoor seating (ideally outdoors which is sitting on the sidewalk), you know it's going to be a good time. They have live music, a DJ, and dancers the night I went to dinner. It was a vibe! Not sure you can sit long enough to eat. One minute I'm eating my filet mignon kebab with fries (which is on the pricier side for Mediterranean food, I believe it was over $30). The next minute I'm dancing in the crowd on the sidewalk. Would recommend for groups or if you have visitors in Tampa Bay.

Really really good stuff! We went for a late lunch so it was empty. The service was very quick and the worker was kind! The place was very cute and clean! The pricing was excellent for the portion sizes. We had the calamari, crispy chicken wrap, Lamb gyro ! It was all delish! I highly recommend checking them out.

The food was great! We ordered the calamari and the gyro, everything was so flavorful. The waitress was nice and very attentive. We sat outside since it was a beautiful day. We were the only customers at the time. They were setting up for the evening events. Apparently they have belly dancers and bongos on Friday nights. We would've gone back but we already had plans for the evening. This was a nice little spot for a quick late lunch. The only downsides: how dirty and torn the menus were (disgusting... dried food everywhere) And the amount of destitute (dr*gs) people are constantly walking by you if you sit outside. There's a lot of them in that area A LOT. And they cause scenes on the sidewalk right where you're sitting. Just keep that in mind and sit inside.

I had an great time here. They had live music, dancers and hookah which really made the experience. Service was great. For the food, I had the ceviche to start and the lamb chops which were both delicious. I will say it is on the pricier side, but I would definitely recommend.

Went here with some coworkers. We were there around 6pm on a Wednesday. We were one of probably 5 tables seated. The service was great. Our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We got the mixed plate for an appetizer and it was a good amount of food for the price. One in our party ordered Calamari and didn't like her dish at all. she ate less than a quarter of it. I ordered the filet mignon kebab to share. It was $40(ish) and was only two small kebabs. Not enough to share and be satisfied. We each ordered a drink and each drink was not bad but not great for different reasons. The place was cute and staff friendly but I wouldn't say it would be somewhere worth going back.

This was my 2nd time visiting Dio and it was just ok. The location and the vibes are great but the menu is super limited with only about 6 entrees to choose from & the night I went they were out of at least 2 of the dishes my table ordered. So we all settled on the chicken kabobs. They all came out with a grand presentation which was kind of funny considering our table was full of these chickens just dangling on a stick. I see the vision but they missed the mark as far as taste. We could see all the other tables ordering some kind of kabobs bc that's basically all they had on the menu. It was crazy to see how many of these kabob set ups they had knowing there wasn't enough food to serve the entire menu. Our under seasoned hanging chickens costed us a whopping $29 each which is a pretty steep price considering it didn't taste great at all. What we didnt finish we boxed up and gave to a unhoused person nearby. I guess this place is worth the experience being that it's a downtown Tampa hotspot, the drinks are great, they have hookah and live music. But keep your expectations low when it comes to the food.

I love Mediterranean food so I was surprised to have a hard time finding something on the menu to order. It wasn't extensive and it was expensive. Even just a glass of wine was over prices- same brand here compared to same brand elsewhere. There were no seats/tables inside- not sure why but the place was empty. Tons of empty tables outside. It was hot and since it's downtown there's not a lot of shade. I will say the food I ordered was good but in order not to break the bank I got lamb meatballs- an appetizer and a side salad. My total with one glass of wine with my husbands dish was still crazy. Our waitress however was amazing- I wish I could remember her name. She was amazing!

We were staying at a nearby hotel for St. Patrick's Day weekend and decided to give this place a try on Saturday around 5. It was extremely busy both inside and outside because the parade had recently ended. We were lucky enough to get a table inside the restaurant. Service was quick from our waiter, despite the big crowd. The menu has about ten appetizers, several spreads, salads, and about ten entrees. We started with the dip combo, which was four different spreads with pita bread. We also ordered the vegetable platter to use with the spreads. They all tasted great. For our entree we split a filet mignon kabob, with asparagus and a Greek salad. The filet mignon was one of the best we have had. The asparagus was also outstanding because it was seasoned with garlic bits. We would definitely eat here again.

A wonderful first time here for our friends' birthdays. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Food was good! Love the ceviche!! I would only suggest AC in the indoor dining because it was pretty hot (I was sweating). Entertainment was fun and we loved the Austin Hope Cabernet ..

    Is the meat here halal?

Hi Huda! Yes Dio’s meat is always (and only) halal. They also don’t carry pork if that makes it better.

My father was from Greece so any chance I get to travel and try Greek food I make it a priority to. I was warmly greeted and sat right away. I ordered the gyro platter and the food came out in a timely manner. The meat was seasoned just like in Greece and the salad and fries were delicious. Only thing I would suggest is add more of the delicious tzatziki onto the gyro platter as I ate my food savoring every bite alone I took in the restaurant and watched what was going on in the world outside. Suddenly I was greeted by an employee who worked there who later told me his name Miguel. We chatted about Greece and life and how we both have been living some place new for a year. He made sure to ask about the food and service and was a perfect addition to my experience there. In Greece food is the center of family life and connection. We cook to bring people together. Miguel and his taking time to talk to me about life and making sure the food was great elevated the level of this restaurant. I felt more like a friend visiting than someone eating alone at a new restaurant for the first time. That is the beauty about a great restaurant and a great team they make you feel right at home! Can't wait to be back the next time in town and as we say in Greek YIASSO!!

The customer service was genuinely some of the best we've ever experienced it was warm, welcoming, and so hospitable. The bread was phenomenal and worth the visit all on its own! We ordered two İnegöl Köfte plates to split between two adults and one child, and honestly, one plate would have been plenty because the portions are so generous. The köfte was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the rice was absolutely delicious, and the fresh salad was the perfect complement. I also ordered a side of chicken just to try it, and it was equally flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. For drinks, we tried the Turkish pear soda and the orange soda. Both were delicious, but the pear was my favorite and is a must-try! If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Turkish food with generous portions and outstanding hospitality, this is the place. I was also shocked I had never heard of it. I went yesterday for the first time to have it in person and was blown away at the quality of food in terms of how fresh EVERYTHING was and how efficient the service was. The staff was so so wonderful. Cassie, Clayton, & Joy were all such a pleasure to meet and speak to. I'll be happy to go support them in their new location opening in Largo. Getting into the food - here's what we ordered and thoughts on each: - Trio of Spreads: Pesto Hummus, Roasted Garlic Feta, Tzatziki w/ grilled & fried pita chips. Each dip was INSANE and you could tell by the taste they were not only homemade but made to order. My favorite was the whipped feta but i could genuinely eat each of them everyday. They asked if we wanted the pita grilled or fried and when I asked which was better they gave us both! And I'm so glad they did because I really enjoyed both and had never had fried pita before (delicious of course). I will be getting this every time. I do remember the dips going crazy when we had gotten it catered and they hit just as hard this time around. - Chopped Greek Salad w/ potato salad. I had this infamous dish when we had it catered and I was literally addicted to the potato salad. I remember I had a plate of everything else then went back for a full plate of the potato salad. I definitely recommend getting this salad chopped over the traditional way as it is much easier to eat. So unique they add the pasta salad to it!! - Chicken Souvlaki Pita. I always get gyro pitas so was trying to switch it up here and I was so glad to finally try Chicken Souvlaki (I've had Greek sooo many times but never tried it) and it was SO yum. Definitely a good change of pace for me. - Gyro Pita Platter. Still needed to try out their gyro so got the platter which is basically a deconstructed pita. I love that you're able to add as much or little of each of the ingredients - it reminds me of taco nights! The gyro was fire of course. - Greek Feta Fries. These were seasoned to PERFECTION. I was stuffed but couldn't stop eating them. You gotta order these at every Greek place and constantly compare. These were a wedge vibe and the perfect amount of potato in my opinion (I'm Irish so I prefer a thick steak fry to a skinny mcdonald's fry). The flavor went crazy. EXTRA SAUCES - DONT SLEEP ON THE SPICY TZATZIKI
