Tried this nice establishment before Xmas and I must say it was delicious . We put in an order to go for Lasagna . They have 2 choices a Italian style and their home style . I went with the home style and it reminded me of my moms Lasagna . Cannot go wrong here if you want an excellent meal . Yummy food. read more

Old town and old spot. Walls were covered with sports memorabilia covering decades. Menu focused on meat and two or meat and three. Took me back to the local places I went as a kid. I had the country style steak, mashed potatoes, fried okra and green beans. The wife had the hot beef sandwich. It was sufficient if you need some grub, but I would struggle to call this a fine dinning experience, service was great, youthful, and I suspect the kitchen was also youthful. ambiance was lacking, the place needs a makeover. Everyone there was amiable, I wish them well. I hope they can elevate the quality and production of their recipes and increase the success they have had. read more

First time eating at Dino's today, and let me tell you it was one of the best dining experiences I have had since moving to the Tri-Cities. I've been searching for a good meat n' 3, and this place definitely checked all the boxes. Food came out quick and hot, and out waitress was very sweet. This is gonna be kinda two reviews in one. Me & My husband decided to eat here for supper one night. He got the Nashville Hot Chicken which was pretty Good. I got the manicotti. When it came out the sauce on top smelled just like chef Boyardee And sadly the sauce tasted just like it. Bread they gave me was cold & barely toasted.. The waitress ask if me if the food was good. I said "No I really don't like it".. she ask "do you want a box?" I declined the box and watched her take a whole plate of food to throw away. Really surprised me that they don't offer something else. Then again today we got 3 cheeseburgers & 3 fries for $30!!! That is WAY to much without a drink. The Burgers were literally so soggy they fell apart. The meat was a good portion but it was flavorless. The fries were cold & seasoned. My husband hates season fries. Will we give it another chance? Maybe if they would of done the right thing and offered to replace for the Manicotti read more

While visiting the area, my wife and I were at the Saturday evening car show when we decided to give Dino's a try. We walked in and were immediately great by a friendly waitress who told us to sit anywhere we wanted. We were waited on promptly,we placed our order, and a short time later we got our food, again, our waitress was very upbeat and very pleasant. Our food was good, and the quantity was quite large(we shared one order so we could order dessert)....... Now, dessert was something else. My wife ordered a very tasty slice of coconut cream pie, and it was large and very delicious. For myself, I ordered their deep fried whoopee sundae, OMG it was spectacular in both taste and size...... could have eaten that alone and been still full in the morning. The bill was approx $18 & change for one large meal & 2 desserts ......a great place to eat!!! read more

Dino's has the absolute best lasagna I have ever eaten. We have been going there for over 40 years. I'm guessing the other items are probably great too but I always have to get the lasagna! The recipe hasn't changed and I hope it never does. Keep up the great work. read more

I went to Dino's today to grab some lunch and as I walked through the door, I was immediately greeted by a sweet hostess/waitress! They told me I can sit wherever I please and my waitress was so friendly and helped me out a lot! I'm a Vegetarian so I just got spaghetti!! The portion size was huge for how cheap it is! It was delicious and served hot. Some of the best spaghetti I think I've ever eaten! The inside of the restaurant is also beautiful, they keep it clean and well organized!! First timers to eat at Dinos. Good food and service, had liver and onions with excellent mashed potatoes. Good chocolate pie for dessert. Hubby had same meal. Friends had spaghetti and meatballs and a shrimp salad, all looked good and tasted as good as it looked. I would go back. read more

We were referred to Elizabethton due to the antique shopping, and finally made our first 1.5 hour drive down to check it out on 1/10/15. After a couple hours of shopping we wanted to grab a bite without having to leave the Elk Avenue area, so we walked down the sidewalk a bit to see what was available. We first passed Red Chili, found the posted menu to be VERY intriguing, and wanted to go in and order.....unfortunately, the sign on the door stated "cash or check, only" and we had only plastic, so on we went. (I just found out, today, that they are quite highly-rated, too!) The next places for which we noticed signs were "Dino's Restaurant" and "Southern." We read over the posted menu in Dino's window, decided that it looked fine in terms of selection and pricing, and went on in without giving Southern the same chance. BAD MISTAKE, as well as in judging a book by its cover! Just inside the door was a sign with a daily special of Eggplant Parmesan and Spaghetti for $7.99. The staff said for us to just sit anywhere we wanted, and they were very attentive throughout our stay. We were having a bit of difficulty in deciding what to order....the Hamburger Steak, the Chopped Sirloin, the Prime Rib, and the Daily Special all were interesting, and the burgers were also. When our waitress delivered our drinks I asked if the Eggplant was good. She responded, "Oh, yes! It comes with a nice size portion of Spaghetti and our homemade meat sauce." This was enough to make me try the special , and my spouse ordered the Hamburger Steak with brown gravy, corn, and a baked potato. I have to rank the meal near the top for "WORST MEAL EVER." The eggplant, itself, might have been okay if I could have tasted it. (I doubt it) However, the THICK noodles were poorly cooked, and that "homemade meat sauce" over everything was harsh enough to remove paint! (And thick enough to have remained on a vertical wall for hours in order to do it) It was a burgundy red+brown color, bitter as arsenic, and had to have consisted of about 98% tomato sauce and 2% Parsley flakes. Truly awful. Truly! I am shuddering as I recall the flavor. The atmosphere was pure hole-in-the-wall, with faded photographs and wall hangings EVERYWHERE! I mean it was like every space on the wall, the shelves, and the counters was covered with 'memorabilia' that included signed photos, sports junk, and just plain old junk. This doesn't affect the quality of the food in any way, but the whole place is beyond DATED. Do curly-edged, sun-faded photos tell customers the story of Dino.....? Regardless, JERK THEM DOWN anyway, and take another direction! Like a new coat of paint in an attractive color. Or a few tasteful pictures (not photographs!). Maybe replace those aged, stained fluorescent lighting fixtures, too. The men's restroom was so tiny one could barely turn around between the commode and the sink, and the floor near the wall was literally gone...missing.....not there. Rusty pipes, dirt, and claustrophobia put the icing on this experience, for sure! The only redeeming qualities were a decent fountain Mt. Dew and a well-cooked baked potato, along with the waitress who----- even though she wouldn't know good Italian if it smacked her in the forehead----- was very attentive. (And the reviews from other sites, which show they were posted by 'locals,' apparently just goes to show that if you've never had good Italian, even the gross and pathetic mess Dino's serves is not recognized as such....believe me, it doesn't even come close to standing up to Carrabba's or Olive Garden, much less REAL Italian! Whatever this restaurant may have been "back in the day," based upon our recent experience the only thing I think customers can hope for is an honest Health Inspection!) read more

My husband and I ate at Dino's last night and the servers were very nice and the service was great, but my shrimp alfredo was terrible. It tasted exactly like it came from a jar and was very bland. I couldn't finish it. I came home and made me a sandwich. I was extremely disappointed in my meal. I tasted my husband's spaghetti and it was wonderful and the garlic bread was delicious, but not the shrimp alfredo. I almost asked my server to take it back that I wanted something else. I didn't though, I was disappointed in how bad it tasted and what it cost. It was $10.00 for my shrimp alfredo. I thought, well I'll eat my shrimp since I'm paying that much for my dish. I will be back, but I will not order the shrimp alfredo ever again. read more
