The Big River Economic & Agricultural Development Alliance (BREADA - the nonprofit organization behind the Red Stick Farmers Market) originally opened the Main Street Market years ago. Sone things worked well, others did not. In this new incarnation, they have leaned into the things that were great with the original Market, and added a few additional extras. First, we have new vendors! There is a great quality coffee shop at the south end. Then there are four food vendors in the central area. One of these is serves Indian cuisine, the other three are more homestyle. There are plenty of places to sit and eat at the ends and along the west side of the Market. One could also get things to go. There's also administrative space and storage for BREADA, and also a demonstration kitchen. The Market interfaces with the Red Stick Farmers Market on Saturday morning providing a great shopping experience. It is an amazing asset to Downtown Baton Rouge!

There's street parking out front and a church with a parking lot across the street which makes this very convenient to eat at. The inside is also pretty clean compared to other food markets we've seen. This seems to be a place workers frequent during lunch since it's so centrally located amongst government buildings. We happened to go around lunch on a Friday before a long weekend and it was empty with little to no wait and many open tables. We ordered from their breakfast and southern spots. From the breakfast spot we got pancakes, bacon, a biscuit, and a cinnamon roll. From the southern spot we got their fried catfish sandwich with fries. The pancakes were good, as were the bacon and biscuit. The real standout was the cinnamon roll. It was warm and soft and the flavor just stands out as one of the better ones we've had, and trust we've had a lot of cinnamon rolls. The fried catfish was also delicious. Catfish is a very fishy fish, which is why we like it, but this catfish was also breaded nice and light and the sandwich balanced it well with sauce and vegetables. It didn't feel heavy and with the light fries, we were satisfied without feeling way too full. Main Street Market really does stand out as a convenient spot with some pretty good food. While it was a little pricey considering what the food was, it still excels as an option for those in downtown Baton Rouge to checkout. A great idea for those looking for good, quick eats.

She releases her menu on Tuesdays and I order and pay by Thursday and her delivery day is the following Tuesday. I have a plethora of meals: buffalo chicken wraps, shrimp & grits, vegetable lasagna, pork chops and chilis. I normally order 10 meals and select how many of each meal from the menu of four items.
