Salad buffet in the back is the hot food

Great food home cooking it's small but has a cozy feel to it coming from California I must say it was a great experience

Salad bar.

Food was fantastic. We went to a place last night that had the word "Catfish" in the name and I left thinking it was very good...until tonight. The catfish here...now that was good! Fried chicken with a little hot sauce...Mmm. Salad bar was fresh and offered quite a few items. The meal items consisted of Fried Chicken, pan fried Pork Chops and Southern Style fried Catfish. Side items were mashed potatoes, chicken gravy, Mac and cheese, southern style green beans with ham, carrots, collard greens and baked apples. Oh, don't let me forget about the banana pudding made with vanilla wafers (like mom), apple and cherry cobbler. Originally, I was going to give it a 4 because the bathroom definitely has lackluster, but after I thought about how stuffed I was after, I decided on 5 Star . After all, I wasn't there to go pee, I was there to get my grub on.

Green beans, turnip greens, stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, fried catfish, fries, creamed corn, muffin, sweet tea

The atmosphere and food is like you went to a family reunion at your Southern Grandma's House.

Just plain good country cooking. Serve yourself right off the stove. Enjoy on a picnic table family style. You'll go back.

We went for dinner and got the lunch menu as they are one and the same. Had a buffet option of…read morefrozen fried foods, stuffed peppers that could have been mistaken for meatballs drowning in tomato sauce. String beans were swimming in bacon fat with fatty chunks. Another option was the soup and salad bar. White bean soup was like wallpaper paste. Broccoli soup was just as pasty but green. Neither had any flavor. Salad bar had bare minimals. Soup bowls were either a tiny butter dish or a ramekin. When I asked for a soup bowl the waitress pointed to my 2 choices. We shared a club sandwich which was ok. Went for breakfast the next day because the nearest town is 20 minutes away. Breakfast buffet was poor so we ordered off the menu. My traditional breakfast was fair. Ham steak was the highlight of my meal. Never got the potatoes that came with my plate. Also a first for me. Got the heal or end of the bread. Whole place is closed next year for major renovations. Should have closed sooner. Dining room overlooks the lake. Too bad the outside desk wasn't open.

Seafood night is just okay, but we wouldn't come back for it. Typical salad bar, dessert table with rotating pie/cake/ banana pudding (hot) & Vanilla soft serve machine. The staff is friendly. The best person is their head chef, Jack! What an awesome guy! Willing to go the extra mile for you and always has a smile on his face! Great balcony view and lots of seating inside.

We had catfish, chicken tenders, fried chicken, hamburger steak, corn dogs, sweet and sour chicken, chicken fried steak, and chicken livers and several kinds of vegetables. Most items were warm not hot at all. The hamburger steak and the chicken fried steak looked like banquet frozen meal meat and tasted even worse. The chicken livers were inedible. They were pink inside and I have had a lot of chicken livers in my life none like these! The catfish was tough and I couldn't find one thing on the bar that even looked good. Everything is bland and the glazed carrots on the buffet were so tough and shriveled up that looked like they had been sitting for days. None of the vegetables looked good. They have a dessert bar as well with ice cream, but this is where I drew the line. When we walked over there to get dessert there was a piece of chocolate cake sitting there. We almost grabbed it until we see gnats flying out of the cake. They weren't on top of it they were flying from the inside of the cake, almost as if they have been living inside of the cake. If you look at the pecan pie picture you can see the gnat on the plate but the chocolate cake if you zoom in you can clearly see the gnats on it. Disgusting to say the least and regret even stopping in! One of the nastiest buffets I think I have been to and after spending $45.00 we should have just got us a pizza and called it a day! I hate leaving reviews like this but it needs to be said. Stay away from here it is not good at all!!! Marvin's in Fayetteville and Mildred's in Ardmore are some of the best buffets I have ever been to! 10/10 and worth the drive.
