Thomas G.

After a rigorous workout, I visited DiNico's Pizza on Christmas Day! I must say that I was bound to visit at some point because its location sits along Roosevelt Rd inside of Berwyn Towne Square, a route I drive regularly. If you have tunnel vision as it is easy to have while driving along Roosevelt Rd then you just might miss the storefront of DiNico's Pizza, so keep an eye out for Berwyn Towne Square, or GameStop which stands out within. A cool fact about DiNico's is that it is open 24 hours a day. As for my visit, I was acknowledged by the employee shortly after I walked in and up to the counter to look at the display of the pizzas. It always takes me some time to look, especially when I am unfamiliar with the restaurant itself. With little options featured in the display, I ended up ordering a slice of Chicago-style deep dish stuffed pizza - cheese since it was the only one that captured my interest as a vegetarian. I was out as quickly as I entered DiNico's, but prior to leaving with my order, I took notice of the number of tables and seats available inside of the dine-in area of this restaurant. Once I arrived at my residence, I opened the container to look at the slice that was given. Instead of receiving one slice of pizza, I was given two slices which I was thankful for because I was hungry after my workout. Hmmm, I guess Chicago-style deep dish stuffed pizza - cheese was not a popular option on Christmas Day? But anyway! Two slices for the price of one! Yass, honey I will take it! And the slice of Chicago-style deep dish stuffed pizza tasted delightful; both slices of pizza replenished the well-needed calories that I lost during my workout, tehehe. Being that I had a good experience, I am very well open to visiting DiNico's Pizza again whether it be on a holiday like this visit, or any other day throughout the week when I am in the area. With that, I share my endorsement of DiNico's as well with you all; DiNico's is well worth the visit if you love pizza as much as I do. Undercooked dough

Used to order from here all the time, but after multiple bad experiences, we're moving on. The dough was severely undercooked - like it was soft . When you bit into it you can see the dreaded "gum line" that indicates under, incorrectly, or poorly cooked/prepared dough. Even after we put it in the oven to finish cooking, the texture was off. They always say it will be delivered within the hour but it has consistently taken longer than that despite the fact that it's less than 10 min away.

Boneless Spicy BBQ Wings

I will recommend DiNico's to just about anyone... the service is good and the food, even better. They have a small area to dine in but always a good time. If I'm here past 11pm at night, it feels like heaven at first but then I definitely feel it in the morning. No regrets though (haha). Recently went and ordered (for two), spicy bbq wings boneless, fries, and a slice and it came out to about $23. Good price for two people and plenty of food (to take home too). I'm always going to give a place 5 stars if they go above & beyond with their service and this day they did. Our wings were forgotten about & the apologized many times & offered us cheesecake on the house. How thoughtful & great service. Because of this, I will be back many times & tell everyone about DiNico's. Personal Review: 8.4/10

The pizza here is edible but that's about it. The crust is way too thick and lacks flavor. Definitely better pizza in the area.

Freddy's Pizza - Their delicious Margherita Pizza $28

If you can get past that part, Freddy's is a must. Solid subs--we did an Italian and a meatball--and the gelato/ice cream situation is ridiculous. Be sure to check your visit timings; for example, right now they are closed for a two-week stretch, I assume for staff vacations, and the hours are limited, because they are an Italian pizza/sub shop and like the ones in the city, they are not open late. But I like the back patio to extend eating space in the summer time, and people can usually move through quickly if they are just ordering the basics. The shop, featuring loads of Italian sundry goods and pasta items, works too...for those living near Freddy's that are missing spots like Bari or the other sub shops on Grand, or The Italian Store in the DC area, Freddy's checks every box.

They have freshly baked bread and a lot of Italian food, ingredients and cooked food. I had just had dinner but I was so tempted to get some risotto or an arancini. The workers are very helpful and knowledgeable. We got a loaf of bread, sausage, cheese, olives, a slice of pizza, and 2 gelatos. If I was hungry I would have ordered a lot more because everything looked so delicious behind the counter. The gelato was so delicious! I really wish I had gotten the Italian ice though because it was so hot outside and it would have hit the spot. I would definitely return as I'd like to get pasta and some of their homemade pasta sauce.

So the space here is mostly taken up with pizza boxes and a long food service table, with a narrowish aisle to order your food / desserts. They have meatballs; various pizza slices and whole pizzas (unlike the new place next door, they'll serve you slices all day); lasagna and manicotti. There are other things but I'm a vegetarian so I zone out the minute I see "sausage." Vegetarian? They default to a marinara red sauce and vegetable is one of the default slices. I didn't see eggplant parmesan on the menu, but they told me if I ask for it (advance notice would be helpful) they'll make it. Entrees are served hot. The manicotti and lasagna are delicious; the manicotti is not a big pan but a take-out container with two manicotti rolls; will feed one hungry person but wouldn't be enough for two people. Service is still friendly although the space is now a little cramped. The cake and gelato, etc. are still delicious, so I stand by everything I said about dessert in my earlier review.

It was better than most gelato places I've been to. I can taste the ingredients well. Quantity- they give a fair amount for the price. 2 scoops for 6 bucks. We need an Amorino in Arizona!!!…read more Like seriously! How does this place not exist where I'm from! Immediately obsessed!! And if you are a fan of gelato, I'm sure you will love their stuff too!! My experience was a bit chaotic at first but after tasting Amorino I understood! We had just finished watching the symphony play at millennial park and i was craving a sweet treat, somewhere I've never had or can't get back home. And what do you know? We stumble upon Amorino! The crowd inside was a bit intense with people standing and huddled near the glass, I was overwhelmed and couldn't make out where the line started or finished! Thankfully one of the staff yelled out "if you want to order go to the kiosk to place an order and we will call your name". Finally some direction! After placing my order, it was roughly 15 minutes until they yelled out my name. I ordered a shake with their Dubai chocolate gelato! OMG!!!!!! Best shake I've ever had! Literally still chasing that taste! I'm so sad I didn't order two or a larger size! It was sweet just how I like it and chunky, the hazelnut chocolate was very decadent! I opted out of the whip cream because I knew it would be a bit too sweet with it.

paulo you absolutely made my day today!!…read more i've been here several times and my favorites are the cookies and cream and the guava!! but i decided to order delivery today to my bfs house because i saw they had strawberry and basil that i wanted to try, so i placed an order on uber eats for the strawberry and basil and the ricotta & thyme- i was immediately alerted after i placed the order that the strawberry and basil was sold out and had to choose a new flavor. I ended up picking the lemon flavor but wrote in the message box that if they had the 80% strawberries sorbet then that's my first choice (it wasn't showing up as a flavor option but i've always wanted to try it ) and if not then the lemon is fine. i submitted it and looked and it said i was only charged for my ricotta and thyme so i assumed they were out of both my of options. but it showed up and to my surprise they snuck in the 80% strawberry sorbet and only charged me for the ricotta and thyme and put a little smiley face on top lol it's the little things!! thanks for making an ice cream girls day

I only tried 2 flavors and went with a pear and walnut one, which I realized a few bites later i didn't love. The quality is 100% there and the real fruit and walnuts were amazing texture adds but something about it was just off all together. And the price is high, I think the portion size is good since it is denser but I picked the 4 oz cup expecting a $6-7 charge and didn't realize I had picked a specality flavor so it was actually $8-9 which is just crazy. They need to at least organize the layout so that it's clearer which flavors are priced higher than others. I appreciate good gelato and I don't mind paying the price but this just didn't make sense to me (even comparing to NYC prices and quality). I think you only get to pick one flavor too? Just not worth it at the end of the day to me.
