Somebody backed into my truck at Lowe's. Has been bugging me ever since. A friend of mine recommended Carl. I stopped by and talked with his office assistant. She was very professional. Took a couple photos of the dent and showed Carl. They gave me a call and quoted approximately $300. When I brought it in Carl was very friendly and professional. He was able to get the dent out in less time than he anticipated. Thought it was quite honest that he only charged 200 bucks. Even though he quoted three. Took my Audi in to Ding Masters recently to have a small door ding fixed. Carl was very straightforward about the estimate and pricing. He made sure to let me know that there was a support piece inside the door that might cause an issue with fully repairing the ding, but he would not know for sure until he took it apart. My boyfriend took his car in to Ding Masters in Ventura to get a small dent taken out of his car. He had taken his car there twice before and they had done a good job, so we saw no reason to not take it there again. We took it there and even though there is a $95 minimum, since the dent was so small and we were repeat customers, he only was going to charge us $55. This time, when we picked up his car, the dent looked good so we took it home. When we got back, we inspected the car and found some problems: 1) one of the clips that holds the fender wall in was broken. we only noticed it because it was about to fall off. 2) the side of the fender where it bends underneath was scratched/nicked/dented from where Carl inserted his tools (this could have been avoided had he just taken off a couple more clips to remove the fender before using his tools down there) 3) there was a HUGE scratch on the left lip of the bumper. the car is white, and now there is this huge gross black scratch on it. A few other details: - My boyfriend is a perfectionist when it comes to his car. He babies the car going over speed bumps to avoid scraping or scratching anything because his car is lowered (& it has never been scratched even though it's lowered). He uses a hand mirror to check the bottom of the car to make sure everything is in good condition seemingly every time after he parks his car. The dent he was getting fixed was pretty small in the first place, and that alone should have showed how much he takes care of his car if he was getting this minuscule dent fixed. - When the car was dropped off, Carl was warned that this car is lowered, so he would need to be extra slow/careful going over speed bumps or driveways. He assured us that he's worked on many lowered cars and goes really slow so that wouldn't be a problem. ANYWAY. We went back to Ding Masters to talk to Carl about it and though I watched from a distance in the waiting area, I was appalled at the customer service. My boyfriend was really professional about it and didn't lose his temper. He told Carl that the dent was taken out great, but that he wanted to show him a couple things and went on to show him what had happened. As he was showing him these things, Carl just denied denied denied all of it. He said that he didn't scratch the bumper because be babied it pulling into his driveway (obviously not since there was a HUGE scratch). He later said that it was partially my boyfriend's fault for not telling him the car was lowered (which he did..). He was showed the scratch with the mirror, and then went on to question whether or not my boyfriend ever really did this on a regular basis. He didn't once apologize. My boyfriend explained that he was disappointed, but the damage was done, so he simply wanted a refund since more damage was caused to the car than fixed. Carl kind of threw his hands up in the air saying "fine. FINE. I don't ever want to touch this car again. Customers like you just need to leave. You need to get out of here." He went on to say things like "well, I guess this is what I get for doing work half off." I'm sorry, but this is what you get for not doing good work. This is in no way related to the price of the work being done (a price which was offered willingly, we didn't even ask for it). He was completely unprofessional and RUDE. I cannot believe I heard him say the things he said. Any business owner should know how to professionally handle situations that don't end up going so well, not personally attack their customer. Also, the fact that he was so doubtful that the car was checked on a regular basis made me think that he regularly pulls stuff like this (taking shortcuts and as a result doing small damage to the car) but relies on the fact that people don't normally take as good car of their car to get away with this. Looking back, we should have thoroughly inspected the car before we took it home. But I'm pretty sure he caused that damage because the car was inspected before we took it in, and after we drove it home. I really think that if he had just sincerely apologized and not acted so rude, this really wouldn't have been such a negative experience. I strongly do NOT recommend Ding Masters in Ventura. **EDIT: Instead of refunding us the money, he charged us a second time!! Bad business. read more

I have known Carl for many years and he is a hard working, honest guy. But just recently I took two of my cars to him for work. Both had small dents, one on the hood, the other the driver's door. Both flat surfaces that I thought would be impossible to correct. I was totally amazed! Even my black Infiniti... I could not even find the dent after Carl's work. Then I had him do a full detail. I am the second owner on my Infiniti, and the previous owner clearly did not take good care of the paint. It was dull and scratched, with water spots etched into the paint. Carl did an amazing job. I have owned the car for two years and I wish I would have taken it to Carl sooner. On top of that, the cost was very reasonable, less than I expected. I cannot recommend Carl more highly! read more

I damaged my car on the right side. It was scratched by a rock I got too close to.. My friend recommended Ding Masters. I arrived this morning and met with Carl. I told Carl the car is old. I don't want to pay more than the car is worth. He proceeded to run down the list of what I had to do. If I tried to say that wasn't necessary he dismissed it with a wave of his hand. He did this several times. He had to remove both door covers and redo them, the back quarter panel also. It would only cost me $2000 and the car would be laid up 3 to 4 days. My car is a 2003. Its not worth $2000. I was shocked. I found him rude especially when I didn't agree with him. I had to accept what he said or I wouldn't be happy. This man has some serious issues with woman. Very professional, straight shooter, very experienced. It was great to deal with someone who does this day in day out for years. He really knows what he's talking about and it shows. I had a big dent and scrape I wanted taken fixed but I just wanted a rough job done, I didn't need it perfect. I asked for this service at another reputable place and I was quoted $1250, but Carl looked at it and made an estimate of $650 on the spot. It was a big job that required repainting and more. I told him I didn't need it perfect just wanted it good enough to not look embarrassing. It wasn't repaired to perfection, but pretty close. I was glad I didn't have to pay for more service than I wanted. A dealer would have had me replace at least 2 body panels, would have been MUCH more of course. read more
