Fried chicken and rice
Annabelle W.

I find sometimes these chains are hit and miss. This particular Din Tai Fung is a WINNER. The service was great the food was excellent, I tried the truffle Xiao Long Bao for the first time and it was amazing. Filled with yummy soup and also a slice of truffle, can say I was pleasantly surprised. The crispy chicken and rice was also great. The fried chicken wasn't at all greasy, it was crispy and fresh. The rice was just as tasty to match. I can't ever go past the hot and sour soup, it was full of tofu, mushrooms and meat. Totally worth a visit!! The only thing I don't like is that they slam the food out way to quickly!

Probably the best Black Pepper beef I've had

Had a really great tasting meal. Smallish portions so the prices may be a little on the expense side. But still in saying that, I did thoroughly enjoy my meal.

A cautionary tale: if you eat too many dumplings, you will turn into one.

Like a stereotypical Shire resident, I did not go to the city to try DTF. I waited for DTF to come to The Shire. If anything is worth doing, it eventually makes its way over the bridge. But I'm sorry Andrew O, I just wasn't that impressed. The xiao long bao were good. The fried chicken fillet, while cooked nicely, could have benefited from some seasoning. The Kung Pao chicken was one of the best I've had, but the small serve didn't come close to matching the $16.80 price tag. All the hype around the DTF chain had me really excited and I just found the experience a bit of a let down. I can't see myself going back.

Full disclosure, we actually came here 4 times in one week! That's how good this place is! And dare I say this, but the churros here come very close to Disneyland churros. Yes I said it and I don't regret it! It isn't exactly like Disney churros, in fact, it's a bit different. Think of it like Disney churros little cousin. While Disney churros are known for its size, soft and pillowy inside, crunchy on the outside and super flavorful, San Churros is a smaller version of that. They also have filled churros (which I have yet to try!). This place is rarely ever packed but it could be because we go there at odd hours (like 2 pm or 4 pm). But I will say that it's never empty either. The churro pops are like a fried donut with a twist. If you've ever had malasada before, this is like this little cousin as well. The coffee was on point and that hot chocolate?! Let me give you all a fair warning, it's not thicc for nothing! You better have the stomach for that Spanish hot chocolate. Needless to say, I will be returning...multiple times lol!

Really civilised, even if you come here on a weekend…read more I always go for the new Spanish Marshmallow El Grande ($6.95) hot chocolate. Love the marshmallows and chocolate sauce on top, in a really cool glass with a double message "sweeten thy soul" inside. The chocolate is rich, and thankfully full table service and unlimited water at the front counter is a godsend. Cool runnings, and I also brought one of their hot chocolate cups for $9.95. They do keep any drink warmer for longer. They have a good kid-friendly area too. Basic, yet good.

This quaint cafe is owned by a sister and brother duo and offers diners an indoor and alfresco seating, perfect to soak in the sunshine amidst winter. We tried a variety of delicious all day breakfast items. With so many delectable options to choose from, if ever in doubt, order the Corn Fritters! These were thee best fritters I've ever had, packed with juicy corn kernels and great flavour combination. What I tried: The French Toast: Brioche french toast with seasonal berries, vanilla-nut praline icecream, Canadian maple syrup and crumb . The Corn Fritters: Smoked salmon, housemade labneh, smashed avacado, basil pesto, watercress and sweet pickled onion . The Rosie Benny: Sourdough bread topped with poached eggs, baby spinach and housemade pink hollandaise sauce . The Pretty Smash: Toasted sourdough bread topped with smashed avacado, tomato medley, feta, betroot cumin hummus and pistachio . Açaí berry bowl: Toasted Maple Almond muesli, chia seeds, coconut, seasonal fruits, almonds and honey . Coconut Chia Pudding: with yoghurt, roasted nuts, seasonal berries and honey

Most food items were around $20 but the size is quiet generous. The smoothies were delicious however the milkshake was a little underwhelming. Would have loved some ice cream on my the pancakes too, I reckon that would 100% take it to the next level. Will 100% return
