Dimov Tax has done our taxes since we moved to Texas a few years ago. We had to file in California and Texas the first year and also had a few complicated situations that required help navigating. Addendum (07/23/2026): Don't worry I have fully accepted in my conscious that I AM NOT GETTING MY MONEY BACK, and I'm doing this so you don't have to go through it. I wish I could give this company a zero star, so incase you were wondering why there aren't more 0-1 star reviews it's because it's half bought and paid for . Upon reaching back out to me to "resolve" my issue, it was structured in a way where they held my refund hostage, and as a matter of fact, it's not even the full amount I was "offered" $460 refund so long as I take my review down. Now that had pissed me WAY off more than me missing out on my full amount, because now I understand I was led to believe that these are all genuine reviews, which in my eyes looks like VERY BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE and I can only imagine the less fortunate who come to this firm just to get screwed over on their last dollars (I am blessed to for this to not be the end of my world). Let alone they would not just refund because I requested a charge back to my card that I used to pay and well my credit card company is no help to get the funds back for failed service. Don't believe half of what you see here because I'm understanding this is paid biased reviews which is just shady. A big screw you to this firm for screwing MULTIPLE people over and holding their refund as a bargaining chip for dishonest reviews. If you want to experience highway robbery and bottom of the barrel service for your taxes that will have you end up in more tax trouble than you started with? Well look no further than Dimov Tax! It is so unfortunate to have to write this due to how frustrating this company which is odd, because I did my taxes with them in 2025 and it went "okay." This year 2026 was nightmare, I asked these folks to help me do my taxes, charging ~$600 which extremely overpriced considering this office uses Intuit which means at this point their process should be automated... they aren't truly trying to crunch numbers. With that being said, its even more ridiculous that I did not have a completed version of my taxes 100 days after I paid... and this is after days of me pulling their teeth in order to get information on where my tax filings were? Finally I decided to go to a very local tax office in Cedar Park and they resolved my issues within 5 days! So that makes emergency question: what in the actual hell is going on in this office if this is all automated, and another office of just 2 people were able to figure things out within 5 days, in which it took this office 100 days. Oh by the way, I tried to request refund for failure of $600 back, it got declined, so I can kiss $600 good- bye and pay late filing fees. I would keep writing more reviews if it were possible so other people who are not as fortunate, to have to go through all of this frustration and lose a lot of money over company who can't get their job done correctly and on time. Side note: I can totally see AI getting rid of this company for their incompetence and failure of being able to provide service. read more

Exceptional marketing, completely failed execution. We paid for CPA-level expertise and received subpar data entry. We cannot recommend this firm. Their onboarding, SEO, and sales marketing team are exceptional. They know exactly what to say to earn your trust and we were excited to work with them. Unfortunately, the actual service completely fell apart after they took our money. The Process & Financials: We paid a seperate pre-engagement consultation fee, then $1,285 upfront before a single page of work was prepared. After payment cleared, we received a lengthy engagement contract requiring signature. In our experience, an extensive engagement agreement should come before payment, not after. Three unacceptable draft tax returns followed, each containing differant but significant errors. The 1st draft was a disaster and would have cost us thousands in taxes we did not owe. The 2nd was still very wrong and missing key disclosures. The 3rd included inapplicable Texas state filings, and if filed could have caused headaches. We caught the errors ourselves. We never received a tax return we could file with any confidence. By the 3rd draft, we were done. Our taxes were not overly complex but required special attention to detail. The Disappearance: After multiple alarming errors, we had zero trust in the firm's capabilities. We felt it was a real compliance and economic risk for them to prepare our taxes. We sent a formal refund demand directly to George Dimov using the exact email addresses listed on our engagement letter and CC'd ourselves to verify delivery. We also sent it to the team who had prepared our taxes. Following our refund request, the firm went completely silent. No response, no explanation, and no attempt to clarify why we are not entitled to a refund. That is not normal. Fellow Texans: George Dimov holds no individual Texas CPA license confirmed via TSBPA public database (Texas State Board of Public Accountancy). His firm, Dimov Associates LLC's Texas CPA firm license (C11597) expired September 30, 2025 and has not been renewed at the time of this post. Based on our research Dimov Tax, Dimov Partners, DImov Tax Specialists, do not come up in the TSBPA database. Draw your own conclusions. Public Regulatory Records: We later discovered that on April 8, 2026, weeks before we hired this firm, the California Board of Accountancy (CBA) filed a formal accusation against George Dimov and his firm (Case No. AC-2026-10). This is a matter of public record. Had this ongoing regulatory action been known or disclosed to us, we never would have signed on. The case is active and has not concluded yet. Update July 2, 2026: We filed a formal Chase dispute on June 15, 2026 after sending multiple refund demands over several days to multiple people including George Dimov directly. Fifteen days after filing, two people we had never heard from contacted us for the first time - extremely apologetic and offering a free tax return among other things. George was CC'd on these emails using the exact address we had used to contact him before we escalated. They asked us to rescind the chargeback and trust them to refund us outside of the bank process. Chase advised us not to retract the chargeback as we would lose our protections if they did not follow through. We were told George had no idea what was happening. That is concerning in itself. Dimov accepted the chargeback on July 1, 2026. Chase closed the case in our favor on July 2, 2026. We received our $1,285 only because we filed a chargeback. The refund does not include 20+ hours of our time writing long emails correcting their errors, fighting for our money or the stress we endured. That cost remains ours. To the Dimov Response Team: Do not reply claiming we are not in your system, blaming technical issues, or mischaracterizing our situation. We have the signed engagement letter, payment receipts, error-riddled drafts, and every email exchanges to back up everything written here. We tried to handle this privately and amicably before we escalated. You chose silence until a chargeback forced your hand. Our experience mirrors similar patterns openly discussed by other clients on Yelp and other trusted review sources. Draw Your own conclusions and do your own research to protect your hard earned money and valued time. read more

This has been the worst experience I have ever had dealing with a tax service. We hired them last year to help with our rather complicated taxes that were split between several states, and the entire process has been filled with multiple errors and over looked details. They failed to file important paperwork from another state which resulted in a penalty letter from the IRS. They asked for more paperwork from us, and we sent it but one important piece didn't make it to them and they never followed up asking for it. Now we've received our 2nd IRS warning, and I'm livid that they let the mistake slip through the cracks. I don't pretend to be good at things like this which is why we hire professionals to help with the process. The lack of follow up to the missing document is a failure of due diligence from the company. It's also the first time we've ever had anywhere from 4-6 (maybe more?) people working on one return. Who was responsible for our account? I still have no idea, and I recommend you find someone else this tax season. Editing to add: The company blamed us for their mistake then insinuated that they would not help us unless we took down our bad review. We ended up not having to pay the fine (we had a federally accepted reason to delay filing), and it was because of their mistake that we received the fine. We easily fixed the issue with the IRS directly since the company was unwilling to do the work we paid them thousands for. read more

- Team approach - no one ever assigned to me personally. When calling, the answering party was always the same person who was elusive and did not speak English very well. Talked to a different person each time & had to start from scratch. - Not really local even though he says he is. My Tax Return was prepared by a foreign guy located in California. Never knew who was doing my Return until the end when he was finally identified. - Follow-through was non-existent. - Error for $15K was caught & refunded by IRS, not accounting firm. This is the only CPA firm I have had to pay upfront for them to 'attempt' to process my 2024 taxes. I filed an extension, from a prior CPA I had back in California. This was my first attempt at using a CPA in the state of TX. They were VERY inconsiderate towards me and my need to get this put behind me. I asked MULTIPLE times for a meeting, to which was never answered directly. Finally, I asked for a refund of my funds. (over $500), this is when they finally stated to me and I quote directly from the email: "We are fully prepared to finalize your initial draft as soon as this is provided. If you need help obtaining or compiling the missing information, just let us know - we are happy to assist. Happy to jump on a brief call if needed to go over the details." This came from a 'Senior Tax Manager'. I told them I've never had to pay upfront for tax services, I'm quite confused. I did so anyways thinking it was maybe done differently here in Texas. The meeting was to talk about the form that they were requesting. 'Form 8949' Very unprofessional in my opinion. I wish them the best, with whatever they have going on. But they won't be getting my business anymore thats for sure. read more

Talked to the IRS today to wrap up a mess that was started by Dimov Tax. He makes it sound like he and others are Austin based. IRS told me today that they are NY based and Florida based. I had 4 people put on Power of Attorney which I was unaware of and the IRS gave me their names and location and NO ONE based in Austin. The IRS were a better support. Don't use their services. They have people come in and add a five star rating to get your business. read more

Last year we a bit more complex and we filed an extension, which they handled for me & it really removed the stress from the deadline (I will do that again next year).
