If you find a tag of the day half price item, a senior gets it for 60% off. The staff are pretty friendly. Cons: No fitting room, Goodwill takes returns but never refunds - only store credit. You need to know prices, What I find most funny is recognizable Dollar Store items selling for $3+. There's nearly always a Street Roots vendor or someone down and out outside the store. That's not really a con - more of a heads up. Sure, it takes lots of hunting, but you never know when you will score a treasure - often plenty of name brands. Good luck!

It's changed a bit over the years and I miss the wood products such as trim and doors, as well as tile. They carry more furniture and smaller items now. If you are interested in re-habbing vintage furniture this is the place for you...many nice wooden pieces to choose from. Things to know: they have an extensive offering of recycled paints, new and used tools, and hardware. In another section of the store they have a cute vintage items and kitchenware shop (spotted a new Cuisinart popcorn popper for $10.) And they no longer accept cash as payment. This organization is literally "saving lives", one at a time. In any given month they serve over…read more10,000 people. TEN THOUSAND PEOPLE, that's a lot of folks who need our help. That's a lot of fresh and prepared foods; clothing; medical supplies and equipment. Delivered meals to home bound and the elderly and toys for kids. In 2015 they distributed 2,745,927 lbs. of food which had been donated. This is "just the food" aspect of what they do. I was first introduced to this organization in 2009 when we had to move our folks to a Sr. Living Community and needed to downsize from a 3 Bedroom House to a 1 Bedroom Apartment. There was no way we could take all their belongings and canned foods to the new place. So we started boxing up bags and boxes of things we knew someone else could use. This was just the first of "many donations" we made to this organization. When I heard more about this organization, I knew this would not be the last time I would be making a donation. When my Mother passed away in January of 2014, we donated all her unused medical supplies from medical scissors and gauze to her walker and port a potty. In addition to this all her clothing and other personal household items. If you had to buy these outright you would be amazed at the cost. Cost of which, many folks on a fixed income cannot afford. The staff works "tirelessly" to maintain this facility, keep it stocked and well organized and greets everyone with a warm and gracious smile. As they say "But there for the Grace of God go I". No doubt they are constantly reaching out to back fill the needs folks like me cannot provide. So if you cannot contribute monetarily, you can make a cash donation. My Brother and I were once again extremely honored to make our final donation in May of 2016 when our Father passed away. At which time, a good portion of the household food items and men's clothing and medical supplies were donated. My Dad would have been so proud as in his last years, he had the opportunity to meet the folks at SnowCap and see first hand how they helped the community in need. Heck if he could have, he probably would have given them the coat off his back on the day we visited, we were both so touched. I can't say enough "Good" about this organization. So think twice before you "throw it away" and consider donating instead. There is always someone who needs what you have.

They have all the collars leashes, play toys, coats and beds for catos and dogos. They have pet crates for companion animal travels near and far. They have empty aquariums ready for fish or small reptiles. Hamster and mouse cages with exercise equipment. Do you need a cat tunnel shaped like a purple alligator, they had one! They don't have used pets, just used and new pet supplies. Everything is clean and nice. The live things they had, in partnership with Rabbit Advocates, are actualy live bunnies. They take donations, explained on their website. They are a nonprofit, so if you do tax deductions, they can write a receipt. They are on the lower level of the Lloyd Mall just West of the ice rink and across from the circular stairway. They are trying to save surplus pet stuff from the landfill. They are part of the zero-waste Portland community.

I love thrifting and estate sale shopping, so Community Warehouse was an excellent choice for me on this special day. I love Community Warehouse's mission! It's a nonprofit furniture bank that collects home goods and redistributes them to those in need. The warehouse space in the back accepts furniture donations, and houses a large collection of pieces for their program. There is also a retail space in the front of the building where visitors can peruse estate sale home goods like furniture and decor. There is a wide variety of products to choose from, and everything I saw was in excellent condition. The store is pleasantly curated, and prices are fair and well-marked. I purchased a nightstand, and found many other items that may draw me back to the store sooner than later. I'm pleased to add Community Warehouse to my regular rotation of home goods stores I frequent.
