Most people ordered the fried "dim sim" for $2.50, which is basically a fried meatball and you can put soy sauce, Sriracha sauce etc on it. I really don't know where Aussies got the idea from coz it's NOT Chinese food. It's clearly a thing locally as I later came across other outlets in Melbourne selling similar fried meat balls. This place is a dump. Seriously, you would pass it by on the street and think - why would I go there? But then you see the lineup out the front and you think, "Well, maybe I'll try something just to see what the fuss is about", and then you get to the front of the line and there is a lady there with zero interest. "What do you have", you ask, and she points her finger over her shoulder without even looking at you to these big gloriously glossy dim sims and your mouth starts to water. I got two. They supply the most pathetic forks that bend and snap, so don't bother or bring your own - prepare to use your hands. Tip in a bunch of soy and siracha sauce into the grease proof paper bags they tip them into and then gorge. They are. Amazing. And cheap. Sorry have to go, getting hungry. read more

I can't really rate these as I don't eat them being vegan and all. I come here to buy my youngest his favourite dimmies, they're big, they smell like dimmies, he eats three & then rolls about in a food coma. They must be good or else he wouldn't eat them. The dim sums here at south Melbourne market are famous for a reason! At first I thought $3 per dumpling was a bit expensive, but these dumplings are larger than other dumplings, and taste a million times better! You can get them fried or boiled, we got them boiled because they're less calories and focus more on the flavor. The outside sticks to the Baggie so you may have to scrap it off of their, but get every single bit of the dumpling! It's very meaty in the best Asian broiled way. This company does it well. There's seating nearby for other restaurants you can sit at, but you can walk through the markets and eat them because they're not too messy.
