Marcus is the man! I came in recently to get a suit and back a few days later for semi-formal clothes. Both times Marcus helped size me and pick out some options. He's got a great eye and is super helpful/professional. I have actually been to this location a few years ago and both gentlemen who helped me that time were fantastic as well (forgot their names unfortunately). In sum, all my experiences here have been great. They have a wide selection of very nice clothes and they are always willing to help you navigate the options. The service was outstanding. The sharp dressed gentleman that works in the men's section was great. He was friendly and very helpful at check out. You can always find good quality items at Dillard's for a really good price. Since they've consolidated the Men's store with Women/Home's Store it was a bit overwhelming with all merchandise in one store. Not what it used to be. Haven't been to this store for a couple years. They used to have one store for Women's, accessories, cosmetics and used to have upscale brands. A separate Dillards in the mall was for men's, children's and housewares. Now that they are closing/tearing down the mall alot of men's, children's and miscellany have moved into the main store; depleting the selection and in my opinion, what made this the best Dillards store I had ever been to... Good plus size options, great sales etc. This just seems to be the way of the world. I am one that does not feel online shopping is as great an experience as leisurely browsing a physical store, touching, trying on, seeing the quality etc. I like my purchases but would have bought more as I was really excited to go to Memphis and know I would be shopping! I was told Dillards would be a free standing store now. Sad turn of events. read more

Our experience today with service was so poor and it wasn't one person having a bad day. We walked in to return a dress and two employees were sitting on one of the counters that held clothes. They never moved. When we told them what we were there for, one of them pointed and said, "Dresses are way down there." We walked way down there and when we stepped toward the counter, the clerk snapped, "I'm checking out another customer. She just went to the bathroom." When she got to us she said, "You know you could have returned this dress at any counter." When we told her that the other employee pointed us to her, she said she'd tell her boss. Got there an hour before closing yesterday for an entire wedding outfit for my boyfriend. If it weren't for the amazing man working in the men's department, we would have walked out with a pair of shoes and prolly not much else!! He was amazing and so professional! I had a friend who once told me she would rather clothe me than feed me. It's true. Not a big clothes shopping fan. This time it was necessary because I left some clothes in a closet at a Florida hotel. Desperation got me hunting for a Lane Bryant. It was listed as inside this mall, which from the outside looks gorgeous. I was hunting down a handicapped parking spot and found it in the back of the mall right outside of Dillard's dept. store, which I never heard of. I walk in and right there is the plus size spot. I found a pair of pants so comfortable, I haven't gotten out of them since I bought them. Didn't need blouses but found some that were just gorgeous. For some reason I walked down the hall and there is a wide open shoe store. I got a pair of Michael Kors flats that are comfortable and good looking. Not into shoes much but their selection is stunning. So was the uber-friendly sales person who convinced me to sign up for a card. I was hanging out there for an hour. Across the aisle is normal size ladies clothing. Willing to best just as beautiful. Went back to my area to grab up my bag and I spot a tee shirt that I loved. This is like impulse grocery shopping. This is a cool side of Memphis too. read more

My review of Dillard's is specifically for the Men's Shoe Department. My husband works 14 hour days on his feet and was developing some mighty fine blood blisters on his heels. We immediately took him to Oak Court Mall attempting to find some dress shoes that would be comfortable and good for his feet. Seeing as how we are not shoe wizards, we had no clue what we were looking for. Enter Mr. JR Ward in the Dillard's Men's Shoe Department. This man is a shoe-god. I was in awe. I sat back in a chair as my husband perused the selection and took note of the 5-6 different men wandering the floor. JR had everything covered. He was running in back helping all 5 people simultaneously. Not only did he know immediately what size they were by looking at their feet, he was explaining to them what they should lean towards for their frame and body size and weight as well. My husband approached him to get a pair from the back, and he returned shortly. While he was helping him get the shoes on, he asked what it was he was looking for and we explained his 14 hour day, blood blister situation. He immediately told my husband that the shoe he was trying on was all wrong, and lead him over to a table filled with Ecco's. My husband put them on and I saw the comfort ooze up out of his shoes and up onto his face. Sold. $245 dollars and 2 pairs of shoes later, we left quite happy. This man was friendly, hella knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I shudder to think what would have happened had we left with the pair my husband originally picked out. It's been 2 weeks and my husband's feet are sublimely happy and comfy. In fact, he says they are the most comfortable shoes he has ever owned. Now, if only JR could help me convince my husband not to wear these dress shoes with shorts. read more

Worst customer service ever. I use to shop there all the time, they even bumped me up to a Platinum Dillard's card because of the volume of shopping on my account. Today I tried to return one shirt I'd bought a few weeks ago. I had my receipt. First they made me go to 3 different registers with everyone saying they couldn't do anything and referring me to a different register. When I finally found the correct register they said no because the shirt didn't have tags and they couldn't be sure which shirt it was on my receipt. I found the exact same shirt in the department and still they refused the return. I'll be doing all my future shopping at Macy's. read more

I could shop in this store all night long without sleep...lol, just kidding! I love there handbags especially the Dooney Bourke, Michael Kors, Coach and leather bags. However, they are some very pricey handbags going for $199.00 and up. Everything in the store will make you want to purchased it all, but of course your money only goes so, far. My sweetheart got me some fragrance out his department store during the Christmas holidays. I got a gift set for about $107.00 with tax. You might need a credit card to shop til you drop, everything in here is so expensive. My favorite will be the cosmetic, fragrance, shoe and handbags area in this department store. Went here to find shoes. Great service at the shoe department, i wish i remembered his name so i could give him accolades. Told him what i was looking for, he took me to the right place to find what i needed, he was polite, friendly, well spoken, explained the options, and knows the product. Excellent. I was accused and ask if I was going to pay for this bag that I was carrying, very rudely and to some extent biased, due to my gender and race. I had a Hermes Birkin 40cm, which Dillard's would never carry in their store, nor would they be allowed to. Sure that lady didn't know what it was, how about she look up the price? The rude lady at the cosmetic counter approached me so aggressively about paying for my bag before I walk out and she said twice. She acted like I was stealing it in front of other customers, even when I said this is mine. She made a degrading remark again. I will never shop at this racist store again. Do not waste your time at this run down department store. I do hope a member of upper management, preferably a regional, contacts me about this. How DISTASTEFUL!!!!! read more

I love Dillard's. I love the clothes. I love the sales. I love the accessibility. However, I'm giving it two stars because the last few times I've been on the bottom level I literally had to hunt someone down to unlock a dressing room. I had the same problem when it came time to check out as well. I'm not sure if they just lack customer service or if it's just a low staff problem. Either way I highly suggest placing more staff in that area that can assist you when assistance is needed. read more

I usually love Dillards! I buy most of my shoes, purses and clothes here, but my experience today has completely irritated me. Their return policy is ridiculous and the service when you have to make a return is unacceptable. I had my receipt from 2 days ago, but one of the tags had come off, mostly because it had a belt attached to it right where the tag was... so she wouldn't take it back. Just frustrating when I know how much money I typically spend there. read more

I feel silly writing a review of a department store. The thing is, I just can't figure out where else you would possibly go to buy women's shoes in Memphis - so please, lady Yelpers, enlighten me! Maybe I just haven't lived here long enough, but I was floored by the variety and customer service here. I went in looking for work shoes and left with three pairs thanks to the personal attention from saleslady Cynthia. Nothing too exciting about this place. It's a Dillard's, so of course they sell lots of really nice things and it smells really good. Word of warning, I walked around the store like an idiot for 15 minutes until I asked where in the heck the men's section was because I was looking for my husband. The lady explained that they are known as a "double header" store and that the men's stuff is located just a little ways down from the ladies' side. So if you find yourself wandering, leave and head straight down until you see Dillards. read more
