I wasn't sure what type of shopping experience we were going to have at Dillard's yesterday immediately after opening We were on a hunt for two Paisley 70s men's button down shirts. It's not like Dillards has a dedicated section or do they? We had been at Macys moments earlier but struggled to find a L and a XXL in the same style We briskly walked into Dillards beelined it to the Men's section and my brother causally asked Cole, " Do you where you guys stock the 70s disco shirts?" Cole replies, " Over-there by the back wall". Cole was not kidding, it was an overgrown Paisley garden. There was countless variations in all sorts of out dated fashionable colors like dark brown, purple, and forest green. The dark brown instantly drew our attention so now the mission was to find two in two different sizes. The large was easy to find but the XXL proved to be a bit trickier. After checking hanger sizes and actual sizes we found a mismatch where the hanger had said XL but the shirt was XXL. My brother strips off his over shirt like he's about to a nude model for an art class. The older ladies shopping abruptly stopped and turned their collective heads as if they thought a rendition of Magic Mike was going to be happening live. It was to their chagrin, when my brother put on the brown Paisley shirt over his t-shirt that they knew the show was over. Mission Accomplished. His shirt fit. We made it back to Cole so that he would get the credit / commission / recognition. Cole was impressed with our choices and said that we would look snazzy in our shirts. What more confirmation is needed. Thanks to Dillards, Cole specially for helping us find two brown Paisley shirts for our Dad's Celebration of Life event. It truly looked like we got into a DeLorean traveled back in time twice to get the shirts out our dad's closet. As I write this the day after, I don't think we'll return the shirts to the closet. We understand that the timeline may never be the same but it's a risk worth taking. read more

Dillards has the best shoe selection. On 7/26/25 at around 12:30 my daughter and I bought some shoes. This was not the first time we have bought shoes at Dillards. This was the best experience we have had yet. Whoever the lady was (20's maybe?) Dillard's needs to treat her right. She is the employee many stores are lacking these days. She was helpful, polite, and professional. She had called a manager for help with a discount. I could hear how this manager was speaking to this associate. The manager was also great! I commend the manager too for how she spoke to the associate. I do not review often. This was worth the time considering how little I experience a positive interaction, out in the retail world. read more

I have shopped Dillard's for years and like their quality and selection. I have always had good service.

For being one of the "higher end" stores in the area, I really wish it was better maintained in here. There is no reason for it to be as dirty as it is. The dressing rooms are actually disgusting. Nonetheless, I still love shopping here. It's difficult to find higher quality clothing these days, and I love the brands they carry here. Just wish it was a little nicer and better maintained. Most locations are not this grungy. read more

Listen, stores like Dillard's just make me wish I had more money to buy all the cool stuff I find. Quality department store for children's, women's, and men's clothing. Not to mention, they also have exceptional housewares and small appliances. What I find most attractive about this store is how neat and clean it is as well as how well organized they are. There is an abundance of customer service. I have nothing but great things to review for this store but, I will need some more money if I want to become a regular shopper at Dillard's. read more

This is the only place I go shopping in person anymore. The customer service is top notch and they always have something for me when I'm in need of a new outfit. Their clearance is unbeatable. My favorite part, hands down, is how kind the employees are. They are always willing to help you find something or take things out of your hands and start you a dressing room so you can keep looking. I was very pleased with Dillards service this afternoon. While my family has shopped at Dillards for decades because of its wonderful quality, I find that we continue there for the customer service. Today, the men's shoe department was no less than outstanding. The service was personal and they catered to our particular shoe needs. The shoes they stock are of better quality than many department stores. The Ecco and Pikolino are some of our favorites--classy indeed. I must say that I am impressed once again and our family will continue to shop there for many years to come. read more

I can't speak for the rest of the store but I was wanting to buy a new cologne and was helped by Chiya. He was unbelievably helpful and really knew his stuff, and taught me so many things that i didn't know and took plenty of time to help me find new scents. I walked in there with a scent that i loved and was found debating between three, even scents i thought i wouldn't like. Very generous and helpful, give this man a raise! read more

I actually like to shop here from time to time especially when they have sales. If I was reviewing the store for the visit I just had it would probably only be two stars but I think my last visit was a fluke. Usually there are lots of people to help however, this time there were no people in the tall men's section or the young men's section, or in men's colognes . I literally couldn't find anyone. I used the dressing room twice and then had to go to the belt section to check out. I know retail well and having the other two section empty will cost them big time. Anyhow they have some good stuff here. Sure I think most is extremely overpriced but if you hit a good sale there are bargains to be found. read more

I usually love to shop at Dillard's but today when I was at a the mall with my friends, we went in and tried on some 60% off prom dresses. The lady was super rude initially and made all six of us share a room because she knew "we weren't actually gonna buy anything" we were super respectful and hung all our dresses up, we weren't loud or rude in any way, the lady also walked into our room when I was not fully clothed. This lady also told us, in a very condescending tone, that "there are people here who are actually planning on buying a dress" and that we should probably leave. She continued to be super rude throughout the rest of our time in the prom dress section . However there was one lady who was very nice to us in the casual wear section. She was super accommodating, she checked in on us and was super friendly. She is the reason I didn't give them zero stars. read more

I recently bought over $2000 worth of clothes at a Dillards 65% sale, not all items I bought were on super sale. Went to bed early with early head cold symptoms. Next day, my closet smelled like a French bordello (rank perfume). Culprit - clothes from Dillards. I removed all and other clothes that came in contact with. I could thoroughly wash some clothes, so kept them. Note: even the box that my new snow boots were in smelled like a French bordello! I had ordered 1 Calvin Klein jacket to be delivered as my size was not available at store; this jacket did NOT smell. Conclusion: either the rank smells from the perfume counter has perfused the entire store OR they spritz the store liberally with scent every day. I returned the clothes I couldn't wash easily, and ordered 2 jackets to be delivered directly to me from central warehouse (without store scent). I figured all was well. NOT SO MUCH. The 'new' jackets were delivered to my house today. Guess what? these are the same jackets I returned; but someone tried to dry clean them. How do I know? Fact 1: the first Calvin Klein jacket delivered came on a hanger in a clear plastic bag and smelled like cloth. Fact 2: the other two jackets were delivered in the same box tho different designers. Fact 3: neither of the two 'new' jackets were on hangers or in clear bags. Fact 4: both 'new' jackets smelled like dry cleaning PLUS the old familiar French bordello scent. Conclusion: those brats sent me the jackets I returned for exchange! This is NOT good customer service. I doubt I will ever shop at Snooty Central again! read more

Bad experience. I've been shopping and Dillard's for decades. I don't mind paying a higher price for an item if I'm getting excellent service. Stopped in to buy some perfume at the perfume counter there was three people working behind one counter. The man who gave me the perfume, I mean oh de toilette when I wanted the perfume, a girl at the cash register and, yet, another sales clerk sitting on the floor behind the counter talking to the girl Manning the cash register. I asked a couple of questions about refills, nobody could answer my questions. The man who originally gave me my perfume, I mean, eau de toilette, took the perfume back from me, went and got a different box. I didn't check to see what he handed me. I got home, unwrapped my new fragrance and applied it. It smelled awful. I went in there to purchase Alien parfum by Thierry Mugler. He gave me Alien eau de toilette. Completely different smell. Nobody thanked me for my purchase, the girl on the floor talked throughout my entire exchange. I'm going in today to exchange the eau de toilette for the parfum. If anybody gives me any problems, I'm going straight to corporate. read more

HORRIBLE!!! They promised me 10% discount if I signed up for Dillards card. They said I would have to see the lady who sold me the clothing and she never was there any of the nights I wanted to go there. So I call on Friday night and an employee says she is working. I come there and they say she is not working and I am mistaken. I get angry after all the run around I have been having and tell them I won't shop there anymore. Then, one of the girls who works there starts insulting me like a junior high school student, mocking me and imitating me. Ummm.. You do work at a men's clothing store, you should act like a mature adult, especially around a customer who has spent a lot of money!!! I spent almost $1000 in one purchase there and this is how I am treated????? The manager seemed not to know how to deal with the situation. I was also a bit shocked that the manager comes to me dressed in a hoody and jeans and not in a suit or more professional attire. Considering he is a manager of an upscale clothing store in the mall, I would expect more. I ended up getting the 10% discount (minus sales tax), but I feel it should have been more for all the crap they put me through. NEVER AGAIN!! Don't shop at this store... Please.. I hope a store that respects the value of loyal customers will come into Boise. I will shop at Men's Wearhouse, Macys and any other place, not Dillards! I really miss Nordstorms and The Rack I had in Portland! I will file a complaint against the employee who harassed me to the top level of Dillards if I can.. Dillard's is a department store. You've seen one department store, you've pretty much seen them all. I was shopping for bras. yup I said it. bras. I'm not ashamed to wear them.. much less to buy them. My friend and me went in on a Sunday afternoon. We tried to fend of sticker shock, as with bras you generally get what you pay for. The problem was that there was only one woman working in the 'over the shoulder boulder holder' department. Friend and me were stuck hearing a loop of an infomercial about a specific brand of bra. When it was my turn, the lady did a good job of fitting me.. but of course the first bra she brought was the brand on the infomercial. I was tired, I wanted to get out of there so I stupidly bought the first thing she brought me (and a second one.. of a different brand).. next time I will ask to be brought several different brands. The 'advertised' one.. was expensive and after two wearings it has had serious issues. If I'm going to pay $50 for a bra it shouldn't do the gymnastics it does when I wear it. So in a nutshell. Dillards. Department Store. Overall: nice enough. Bra department- understaffed and pushing (no pun intended.. lol) the pricey stuff. The other bra? A good one.. I went to Ebay and found a couple more.. MUCH less expensive. read more

I am writing this review for my mom. She had visited the store 4 times in the past 2 weeks, her most recent this last sunday. Dillards employees are awful, stuck up snobs. She had asked 3 different shoe associates for help because the previous "couldn't understand her needs" and wouldn't bring her what she needed. She also left without getting her makeup on each occasion. Her words to describe them were unprofessional and careless. And forget getting help in the kids, the woman are too pushy and don't listen to your needs. My mother wanted a lavender flower girl dress for my 5 year old daughter and the woman that helped her was no help at all and tries to push her to buying an ugly 2 piece set on the sell rack. When my mother wandered off to the more "expensive" dresses, the lady followed her and said you'll be better of looking on the sell racks because we don't have your credit card. How rude of you to assume we can't afford full price items! And the woman followed her to kids shoes and suggested she leave after she asked her questions about the shoes! I am appalled at the blatant rude and careless behavior of these associates, we will NOT BE returning to dillards any time soon. read more
