I am looking for two cool gala outfits which is already a lot to ask from a dillards store but I did find a cool shirt here and was looking for something to coordinate with my date but while I was shopping, one of the associates approached me with a security guard accusing me of not trying to actually buy the shirt! I obviously felt threatened and offended so I handed back the shirt and they tried to argue with me and I was like "Yeah I don't care, this is really weird and threatening. I'm literally still in the store browsing for multiple outfits but you know what? Nevermind." I left without even getting to buy anything or finish looking around!! on the first floor, there's a lady with brassy blonde hair that I saw yelling at an employee right in front of me and other customers for apparently not doing his job and saying that he was just standing around doing nothing and that he needs to do his job. There were tons of other people that were standing around doing just the same as he was. Any time I come in, she always picks on this one employee and I always see it happening. If she is the manager, then this is completely unprofessional. Especially in front of customers. read more

In all my 60 years I didn't realize Dillards had an accessories department. I was looking for leather gloves and found a wonderful accessories department. All the ladies working were willing to help. Kim was the first to approach me. I explained I was looking for leather gloves and how I never realized they had an accessory department. She gave me a tour and explained everything to me from purses, jewelery, watches, hats, gloves, scarves, socks, tights, to sun glasses. I was impressed with her knowledge. She straightened up each area quickly as we walked along. I am a person who prefers leather, it is so hard to find. They have such a wonderful leather selection. Definitely a go to for leather goods and all of your accessory needs. read more

We came here to buy shoes for my little girl. We looked around and no one was in the kids shoe department, however, at 3 different times we had 3 guest service reps walk by and look at us and not in a friendly manner and didn't bother to ask if we needed help. We had to leave the shoe department to find someone in another department to help. We only decided to purchase shoes by then because my little girl has been asking for this specific pair. We would have left and not given our business but we didn't want to punish our girl for their poor service. read more

Today I learned that shoe sizes are not always set in stone, and I listened to the advice of the salesman who suggested I go ahead and try a boot that I asked about, but in a size smaller than I'd requested (they were on sale and stock was limited). While reticent, I gave them a try-on. They fit great- my "regular" size would have been way too big. The salesman explained that (like jeans!) you just have to try various sizes. I called the 800 number to gain information about a gift card I received. The recording said that if I continue, I consent to the call being used for training purposes. That is troublesome. I continued with the call. I later found out I was on the phone with a trainee who was not properly trained to take a call about activating a gift card. A manager interrupted the conversation and started to reprimand me for my elevated frustration with the trainee. As if it was my fault the trainee was clueless. I called back. An agent came on the line and was offended when I asked her if she was a trainee. As I started to explain my first call, she hung up on me. My third call a spoke to an agent, and then was quickly transferred to a manager who was very good, and quickly understood the problem and transferred me to a voice message number. This number was to a higher level person, who will call me back on Monday to have the complaint escalated. Very sad customer service. Embarrassing for u read more

Update: I was notified yesterday, around noon, that #Dillard's made a decision to close all their stores until 4/10, due to the #coronavirus #Covid_19 #pandemic. I am grateful, as well as (I feel certain), their employees, customers & communities/city govt by doing their part in this time of crisis. Thank you, Dillard's. Review of Dillard's at Cottonwood Mall: I hope you will join me in boycotting this Dillard's in Albuquerque, as well as the other stores. I guess Dillard's doesn't value their employees, or the public by causing a health risk to those who work &/or shop at their stores during coronavirus pandemic. It was announced on 3/18 that the Cottonwood Mall is closed starting 3/19/20, due to a mandate from the Governor of New Mexico that all malls be closed to protect the public from coronavirus epidemic, but it seems that Dillard's found a loophole so they could stay open. It was posted because their store along with JCPenney were going to stay open with reduced shopping hours. Because they had outside entrances, they would stay open. Putting profits above people during coronavirus pandemic. If you ask me, it certainly sounds like it. I have a friend who is a caregiver to her mom (high risk of getting coronavirus) & also works for Dillard's. She needs her job with Dillards because that is her only income! She is in her 40's, but new research says this demographic is also at risk if she gets the coronavirus. There could be irreparable damage to her organs if she gets the virus. And, it is a high probability of a risk of death to her mom, if she contracts the virus from her daughter. Her daughter may get the virus at work, not even know it, and bring it home to her mother. Tell me how she keeps a safe distance (3-6 feet) from her mom as a caregiver!! I am FURIOUS at Dillard's putting their communities at risk of spreading the coronavirus!! Am I going to have an EMERGENCY & need an evening gown, jewelry & lipstick to wear AT HOME??? I think not!!! It has been all over the news from our nations' leaders to stay home to keep coronavirus from spreading!!! I am calling for a BOYCOTT of Dillard's department store, Cottonwood Mall & all over the nation, because they are putting their valued customers & employees at risk during the coronavirus epidemic. This is definitely smaller it seems than the Dillards in uptown but service here has been very friendly and helpful. It was also great that 2 days a year they decide to give 20% off to all military and families... I was lucky enough to take advantage of those days this week due to my husband's service. In ABQ dillards is my go-to dept store vs. macys. The shoes are way better in terms of selection, the makeup department is much better (they have Chanel which macys in ABQ doesn't have), they have a great purse and hosiery department as well. Their selection is more "high end" definitely than any other department store in the area. The other great thing about dillards which seems small but is so nice... is that when you call the store you actually get picked up by an actual PERSON. When I have called macys for a question you have to listen to a long recording, press "1" for english, press # for which department, etc.. and it takes forever to actually SPEAK to someone. I think in this way you can definitely tell that Dillards really tries to focus on customer service and I like that! read more

I had about $1k spent at this store, had the collection of Dior J'adore store had available and the largest coach purse with a wallet purchased for me for xmas and they sold the wrong wallet. Got a new coach bag with a non matching wallet, but im returning everything cuz dillards staff and manager at the coach dept wasnt being helpful, like didnt even want to try.... I initially came in to try to find the matching wallet but no matching wallet, was willing to exchange the bag to match the wallet but nothing, then saw that they had an after-xmas 40% off everything coach. I asked if i can get the sale, he said no, i asked several times and said do u blame me its $200 savings, idc if its store credit ill buy another purse, itll go back to your store, your dept, he finally checked with a mgr and said the mgr said no, and I'll (staff) get flagged if u return then buy it again discounted. I said well then ill have someone else buy it for me so we wont get in trouble, he said it wont get approved. This dude really didnt want to work with me saving $200. So i just returned the wallet and left. tried to find the matching wallet online while walking around the mall, couldnt find it. Then anger brewed, thought screw it, im returning every single thing at dillards, not giving my business anymore, i returned the purse. Ranted about him not wanting to work with me to the lady taking the return, she said it probably affects his sales personally but that shouldnt matter u should still be able to return and buy whatever u want after, ill take the return and u can buy it back discounted. I said no, i just dont want to do business with this store anymore. Its not like im broke person ur losing to, told her what else i bought then left. lol he walked up to her literally seconds after i left, i noticed his voice when talking to her. I turned around confronted him asked does this return directly affect u that u really didnt want to help with this, see now i returned the $600 purse, ur store lost around a $600 sale cuz u didnt want to lose $200, but youre not losing just $600, cuz im returning the entire J'adore collection which cost over $400 that was also puchased that same day. Im not doing business with you guys anymore. Btw the Dior counter did a phenomenal job wrapping my gift, unfortunately will be returning everything, you can blame the guy at the coach counter and his manager for denying me saving $200. I ran into Dillard's yesterday after handling crawfish and cleaning up dog poop. My hair was up, my clothes a bit messy and I'm sure I had dirt on my face. My nails were a mess. I was in a rush to buy a dress for a wedding I was attending that evening. I was so relieved that the sales lady was absolutely attentive and kind. I've certainly experienced sales people in other stores who would've treated me poorly and not assisted me. You never know who someone is or what kind of money they may spend based upon appearance. I didn't even have a bra on! She made a lovely commission on two amazing Calvin Klein dresses. Lovely woman in Black with auburn hair - thank you! read more

Worst every in women's accessories. . I bought a Coach hand bag a few months ago. Intended to use it for winter. When I finally unwrapped it I saw it was a FAKE!!! I went in to return it but the would not even exchange it. The manager said it was probably a return swapped and I bought it. Who cares how! They didn't catch it and now 300$ is just Gone!!! Go to Macy's. They will never sell a knock off. Sad.. just sad. How the heck can they sell an illegal hand bag and not know. I wish I knew more about coach before I bought it. The sales rep OBVIOUSLY has no clue and the manager didn't care. With a receipt and all the tags from dillards they wouldn't even give me store credit. Never again!!!!! read more

Great customer service. I bought a ladies suit jacket, but the sleeves were too long. The men's department had it altered for me. Even though the tailor didn't do a good job the first time. The sales people made sure it was done right, even though it took a couple times. I am very pleased with the sales people in the women's dept and men's dept. read more

I went to purchase a set of holiday PJ's today, and was met with 2 sales associates. When I mentioned that I was only purchasing 1 set, one of the associates told me to ask for her when I check out. At the register however, I was being helped by the 2nd associate, this pissed the first one off, and, as I was being rung up, a rudeness insued between the 2 women.
