I've visited Stoneleigh Lanes a couple of times for birthday parties…read more Stoneleigh Lanes is a smallish, duckpin bowling establishment. Both birthday parties we attended came with shoe rentals, two hour bowling, a table setup and pizza. What's good? The bowling. My kids enjoyed their time learning how to bowl. The lanes held up well, no issues with ball returns or pin setup while they bowled. Bumpers were setup and taken down quickly if needed. The workers. They were attentive to the parties and very helpful. The fries. During the second party visit my kids were hungry before the pizza was served. We got a large fry. I thought the fries were pretty good. What's meh? The pizza crust. I'm a total crust guy and the crust they use isn't great. Mad props that they make their own pizzas (or at least put the cheese and pepperoni on themselves. The fry cooking time. They took a while from when they were ordered to when they were done. They were served hot but the wait seemed longer than it should. Can't imagine what it is like if a bunch of people are ordering food.

(1:00 pm to 5:00 pm) It was ideal, I spoke with Kia initially, very pleasant with great customer service. The caterer would arrive at 1:00 pm and the family and guest would arrive at 2:15 pm to 2:30pm and we would wrap up at 4:30 pm and be out by 5:00pm. I spoke with Demitira and she was delightful; she assured me that she we would have the tables and linen we needed. It was absolutely beautiful! What I was not told is the following. The person onsite, I believe her name was Pat approach my caterer and my DJ not me the point of contact and told them to shut everything down at 4:00 pm. I understand that the last hour was the cleanup. I don't understand why we could not listen to music for 30 minutes why we cleaned up. When I approached her, her response was, "Per the contract everyone must leave other than those that are part of the cleanup, and the music must be shut off." I made an announcement to 130 guests about the above-mentioned statement from the person onsite, that they must leave... Please understand that was a 130-guests last experience with Diamondz. We don't have to leave but you have to get out of here!!! 130 people will not return to your event space!

Aside from not having my waiver done before I came in it was a pleasure. Gerald the GM was a pleasure. He was patience, informative and ACTIVE. When I say active this young man was everywhere, helping out, checking in and teaching his staff. I love seeing a manager not just when there is a problem but when it's just a time. He looks like he's where he belongs. Smiling and happy. My little one was scared of the orange slide and didn't want to go up there. He kneeled down and got to her level and gave her the confidence. He said "this is a place where memories are made and fun is the currency. If you go down the slide I'll be here to welcome you back & if you don't feel comfortable I'll be here to walk you back." I'm sorry but probably doesn't mean much for my little one or even for him but it meant the world to see this and hear this. Not many places do we have that we can bring our children. The places we do we have to compete with the unruly and have to wonder is it safe or clean. This place takes the cake. For my young children to see a person who looks like them, in a position of power and is still gentle and kind. You can see he's not faking it because his staff also give off the same energy. I will be back and you all have me as a customer as long as you have management and staff like Gerald, Chase & Dante. They made sure my kids had a great time while dad had a moment to kick back and just observe my little ones. Conquer their fears, make new friends and use fun as the currency to create memories.

Stopped in to grab a bite after a friend called and asked me to take her to get her meds from the Walmart at Carroll Island. My friends car broke down and is having some family issues that she wanted to talk to me about. I am 71yrs of age and my friend is in her 50's so we were not going to be out long. we were told the kitchen was closing down it was a little after 7 at his point, I asked the woman working behind the bar if they still had shrimp salad and she said yes so we ordered our shrimp salad and a beer. my friend ordered us another beer and the woman said last call we said ok and I asked for the check so as soon as we finished we could leave. The woman said no she was busy and would come back when she was finished cleaning. Then a large man came up behind us and said we needed to leave because he wanted to go home. It is not always what you say but how you say it. Please look at the camera and you will see he came up behind us and had was touching my shoulder like we were buddies. Well we are not buddies and he was so rude that I will be there tomorrow to talk with the Commander, this gentleman very loudly told me his name was Phil and he is the ex-Commander. I told him my husbands name is Phil and he mocked me saying Phil over and over again. I proceeded to tell him well I know why you are the ex-Commander. When the woman behind the bar tried to tell him she has taken care of us he told her NO I AM TAKING CARE OF THIS. I have no idea who took away this man's clipboard but he needs to lower his voice stop touching people he does not know and maybe take a seminar on how to deal with the public. Now the real reason I am hot about this is my husband was wounded in Vietnam and received the purple heart, our son is also a wounded Vet. who served in Iraq and Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne, he had surgery and stayed at Walter Reed. So if this is the way you at the VFW treat Vets. and their families we still have a long way to go. A simple hey ladies, it's almost closing time NOT the hrs are posted on the door. Seriously this man did not make your post look welcoming. To be truthful I stop in time to time when I go to Richardson's there are about 4 guys who are there most of the time, we talk, laugh and it feels good to buy someone a beer and laugh a bit. Not knowing this man he may have had one to many but that is no reason to get loud and berate your customers and extended Military family. Thank you for letting me vent. Still not over how my husband and so many other were treated after coming home.

A NIGHTMARE for What Should've Been a Joyous Occassion…read more I hosted my 30th birthday brunch at The Belvedere, the overall experience was deeply disappointing and frustrating. The food was served cold I, the guest of honor, received my meal last. The service staff was disorganized and unprofessional: drinks were served in glasses with visible mold, a guest was spilled on with syrup, place cards were ignored. (Which I had to MAKE MYSELF to add) After submitting a detailed formal complaint, their response was both disappointing and dismissive. They blamed the cold food and disorganized service on my late arrival -- which, while true, does not excuse the breakdown in execution. The original schedule was for starters to be served at 12:45 and entrées at 1:10. Due to my delay, starters were served at 1:20 -- only 35 minutes off -- yet entrées didn't arrive until 2:30, nearly an hour later. Even with the slight delay in the start, the kitchen had ample time to follow the adjusted timeline. Their excuse was that the food was ready at 12:45 -- but if that's the case, why was it not served until nearly two hours later, after we'd already finished starters by 1:45? Rather than take any accountability for the cold meals, lack of coordination, and overall poor service, they deflected blame and offered no refund, no accommodation, and no solutions. At first they offered to sit down with us & the team to discuss further. But once we added we wanted to bring statements from guest to eliminate the "he said, she said"at the advice of an attorney, they stopped communicating with us entirely. After we pleaded with them that we were not seeking council or legal action they still never responded. The lack of professionalism and unwillingness to make things right only deepened the disappointment. This was supposed to be a joyful milestone event, and instead it became a source of stress and embarrassment. I do not recommend The Belvedere for any event unless you want terrible service, communication, and professionalism. If you stayed this far the venue was beautiful. But at what cost? Not the amount of money, time & effort put into this day to just be silenced and not considered at all.
