It's certainly got everything a film…read morelover needs, from film (including some scarce ones, though nothing unique in spite of the owner's claims), to cameras (great selection of several formats, many nicely restored), and even processing chemicals and equipment (albeit pricier than some such as Rewind Photo Lab in Glebe). The store's downfall is that all these treasures hide behind abrasive customer service. Whether you're being rushed, told (not asked) to move, or belittled for trying to ask questions (wouldn't recommend for an amateur without someone experienced accompanying you to ask questions for you), both regular staff members (owners I presume) are relatively standoffish and don't really make the store the pleasant place it could be. If you need film, check online or go elsewhere, there are plenty of choices in Sydney with similar prices and more helpful staff. If you're looking for cameras, harder to find stuff, or are an expert in the area, this shop is better tailored to you.

Gee, it was too close and my face size looked too large(big) or whichever on top it was really dark ( my face looked so dark and looked like I had a sunburn). The lady who was working there said " oh, well done! Nice!" So I paid $20 and got out. As soon as I did, I googled another shop nearby. I found out one, which was Post Office! I went there and did the exactly same thing again. This time, it was perfect! It looks like me and I didn't look like sun tun at all. And only $16!!!

This was eventually cleaned by my son to a stage where the locking pin would work. There was also dirt/corrosion on the SD card cover which needed removing and on the mirrors. I contacted the Sydney store (which I believe is the one which shipped the camera), requesting advice on how to complete the clean and for assurances that (for future customers) staff be advised to check items before shipping. The reply was:- "This type of item is normally has a dent, and dirt. To compensate we would like to offer you a $20 voucher code that you can use on your next purchase. Or if you would like to return the item, we will assist on how you can return it. Please advise" I have now sent a response stating that I am not interested in their offer of a voucher or return but a guarantee that they fulfill the claims made on their website. We will see what happens.

I bust things with regularity due to a crippling lack of confidence in anything remotely technical. Its like I'm cursed. Ted's is one of those places where for some reason a picture of someone is chosen as the trademark / logo, in this case I guess its probably Ted. Hes not that charismatic to be honest and I'm really not sure why his moustachioed mush is so prominent. I always thought the same thing about Dick Smith, Guzman and Gomez, and Colonel Sanders although at least he had an interesting way of knotting his tie. Anyway..... Quite annoying travelling over an hour into the city for teds trade in service only to be told…read moretheir own trade in estimate system is wrong and losing over a hundred dollars of trade in value despite checking and rechecking the trade in 3 times before even making my way into sydney as im disabled and require a support worker to drive and accompany me. so when i do the trade in estimate it shows one lens as 299 value only to be left waiting and more deliberating and more waiting for them to go oh its wrong, yeah 199 only. if i had known i was going to lose a hundred dollars on trade in i wouldnt have even left the house or needed to pay a support worker. the fact you couldnt honour the price your own system stated was the correct trade in value is a joke, i felt pressured to still do the trade in seeing as i had already come all that way and it wouldve been a waste of money once or twice if i had had to come back again. not to mention support worker availability and cost on a weekend. if your trade in estimate system can be off by over 30%, 1/3, 100 hundred dollars, whats the point of having it.

It's been a month now and the order still hasn't arrived. I've sent 3 emails, which have all been ignored. Was very happy to go on from there on my own, but he was extra helpful and insisted on seeing my camera to make sure I'd get one to fit. Clearly 'Knows Diddly About Cameras' was written on my forehead. So I had to bring it out. I was hoping to avoid that. 'It was a present!' I babbled stupidly, trying to cover my shame.
