It's also a very personal tour; for example, instead of taking you to a cafe, you and your tour mates take a walk in the rainforest while Terry prepares BBQ and side dishes. He also serves snacks throughout the day--Australian staples such as vegemite sandwiches, Timtams, and (tasty) homemade lemingtons. Terry has lived in the area his entire life, and his knowledge and love for the area shows throughout the tour. You go to several coastal stops, including sublime lookout, Kiama, and bald hill. We went to the Minnamurra rainforest. It's a beautiful walk and we saw lyre birds and an echidna. There was beautiful scenery and a neat suspension bridge. We also went to the Royal National park where we had a beautiful and challenging beach/bush walk over to Aboriginal engravings. Though we were not there for photography, Terry seemed very helpful to those of our group who brought manual cameras. The entire trip, Terry made sure we were comfortable, had plenty of rest breaks and bathroom breaks, and was constantly asking for our feedback on what could make our tour and his future tours better. Loved this tour and even went out with members of our group after Terry dropped us off. Don't miss this tour!

While a useful store, I believe it to be slightly overrated. It's certainly got everything a film…read morelover needs, from film (including some scarce ones, though nothing unique in spite of the owner's claims), to cameras (great selection of several formats, many nicely restored), and even processing chemicals and equipment (albeit pricier than some such as Rewind Photo Lab in Glebe). The store's downfall is that all these treasures hide behind abrasive customer service. Whether you're being rushed, told (not asked) to move, or belittled for trying to ask questions (wouldn't recommend for an amateur without someone experienced accompanying you to ask questions for you), both regular staff members (owners I presume) are relatively standoffish and don't really make the store the pleasant place it could be. If you need film, check online or go elsewhere, there are plenty of choices in Sydney with similar prices and more helpful staff. If you're looking for cameras, harder to find stuff, or are an expert in the area, this shop is better tailored to you.

It is not a one hour place nor a pro lab but they get the job done. The shop is done like an old school camera store, worth a visit.

This is where I've bought my last two digital cameras from…read more The first one, when I was 16.. and it served me extremely well up until 3 weeks ago (ie; 6 years of perfect functionality, probably more if I hadn't messed up the lens. it was a Canon, if you're interested). The other week, I bought a red Lumix (Panasonic), and it seems to be in top condition. More than the quality of their cameras, it's the friendliness of the staff that impresses me. They are quite frank and upfront, and almost apologetic about their sometimes ridiculous prices. For instance, I had wanted to get my previous camera fixed, and was told apologetically that it would cost me up to $250, and that it would probably be cheaper to buy a new camera altogether. Which I promptly did!

Could have had a sale today and a potential repeat customer...if only they had bothered!…read more 3pm on Sat, no customers around. I walked in carrying $2500 worth of camera and lens around my neck looking for a tripod. One assistant tried to sell me the cheapest unit even when I insisted that I wanted a sturdy carbon fibre tripod & ballhead. She wanted to help, but didn't ask about my needs and budget, or know much about the products they sell. The store 'expert' stood aloof and only gave monosyllabic answers when the lady chased him down to relay my questions. Perhaps they made a lot of assumptions about me - I don't know - but if they had only bothered to speak to me and helped me they would have soon figured out that was ready spend $6-700 and very likely to have come back as a loyal customer. The Paxtons nearby was more helpful, knew my gear and their products, but didn't have the range to show me. I'm off to the web to buy.
