I bust things with regularity due to a crippling lack of confidence in anything remotely technical. Its like I'm cursed. Ted's is one of those places where for some reason a picture of someone is chosen as the trademark / logo, in this case I guess its probably Ted. Hes not that charismatic to be honest and I'm really not sure why his moustachioed mush is so prominent. I always thought the same thing about Dick Smith, Guzman and Gomez, and Colonel Sanders although at least he had an interesting way of knotting his tie. Anyway..... Teds can fix D1's card (at a cost of course) and get all her photos back. The staff are super friendly. D1 told me there was no way my damage could be undone, HA !

    Quite annoying travelling over an hour into the city for teds trade in service only to be told…read moretheir own trade in estimate system is wrong and losing over a hundred dollars of trade in value despite checking and rechecking the trade in 3 times before even making my way into sydney as im disabled and require a support worker to drive and accompany me. so when i do the trade in estimate it shows one lens as 299 value only to be left waiting and more deliberating and more waiting for them to go oh its wrong, yeah 199 only. if i had known i was going to lose a hundred dollars on trade in i wouldnt have even left the house or needed to pay a support worker. the fact you couldnt honour the price your own system stated was the correct trade in value is a joke, i felt pressured to still do the trade in seeing as i had already come all that way and it wouldve been a waste of money once or twice if i had had to come back again. not to mention support worker availability and cost on a weekend. if your trade in estimate system can be off by over 30%, 1/3, 100 hundred dollars, whats the point of having it.

It's been a month now and the order still hasn't arrived. I've sent 3 emails, which have all been ignored. I called once and nobody picked up, I called again and was told someone would call me back and they never did. They're cheap, but it seems like you may just never get what you paid for.

Cameras are a new phenomenon for me, so the thought of walking in to a Serious Camera Shop triggers a feeling of tech-inferiority bordering on taking up sackcloth and ashes and calling myself a Luddite. All I wanted was a case for my digital, and being overwhelmed by the seriousness of the stuff on offer, I asked the nice man where they were. Was very happy to go on from there on my own, but he was extra helpful and insisted on seeing my camera to make sure I'd get one to fit. Clearly 'Knows Diddly About Cameras' was written on my forehead. So I had to bring it out. I was hoping to avoid that. 'It was a present!' I babbled stupidly, trying to cover my shame. 'It's not my fault it's pink, really!' Credit to the nice man, he didn't laugh at all.

I met with Martin who went out of his way to help. They did not have any in stock but he went and found a used one. He gave it to me and said no charge. He was pretty confident it would. This is a perfect example of excellent customer service!! 5 stars all the way. I will be sure to go back when I return to Sydney.

    Do not be fooled by the cheap prices on the Georges Cameras website…read more You are charged a "handling fee" on top of shipping for online orders, which is not disclosed until payment, often cancelling out the savings you think you have made on your purchase. Items are falsely shown as in stock on the website, the items are not in stock and it will take George's several weeks to order them from the supplier before they can be shipped to you, if not longer. Items that are actually in stock still take a week to even be dispatched by Georges, they claim shipping times take 3-7 days but in reality it will be at least two full weeks before you receive your order (if you are lucky). Customer service is extremely slow to respond to support inquiries, if you then reply to their response you will not get another response and you will have to submit a new inquiry to continue the conversation about what is happening with your order. Customer service staff will also blatantly lie to you about the status of your order and when it will be shipped. In response to my first inquiry, I was told my items were in stock and would be shipped the next day, they weren't in stock, they weren't shipped, it took another three days and another inquiry before I was told the truth. To make things worse, if you inquire about the delay in the dispatch and shipping of your order, and customer service finally admit they do not have the items that you ordered in stock, customer service staff will then try to make you switch from the "in stock" item you have ordered that is not actually in stock, to a different, more expensive item and have you pay the difference. If you challenge staff on why an item that was shown as in stock on their website, then later confirmed in writing as in stock by customer service, is not actually in stock, they will just brush it off and say it was a "stock error" and deny any responsibility. By the time you place your order, inquire with customer service about its delay, wait for them to respond, go back and forth with them on the issue until they finally admit the truth, obtain a refund, then order the items you needed from another business, you are going to be waiting weeks if not months before you actually receive the items that you set out to purchase. If like me, you bought the items because you needed them for an upcoming trip, you are completely screwed. Essentially, Georges undertakes deceptive and unethical business practices in order to obtain a financial advantage over their competitors, (much the same as Digidirect) and they should be avoided at all costs. I'll never purchase another item from Georges Cameras and I recommend you spend your money elsewhere, at a reputable retailer.
