JB Hi-Fi is an electronics store chain that reminds me of a smaller size version of the US chain,…read moreBest Buy. They even use a similar color of yellow in their company logo. Unlike Best Buy which has stores with huge square footage, JB stores are smaller and tend to be located in shopping centers. There are four stores alone in the Sydney CBD. This location is one of the stores in Sydney CBD. It is located on the lower ground floor of World Square near Coles and Miracle Supermarket. The store has a lot of offerings for your home including computers, tablets, mobile phones, TVs, video games, CDs and DVDs. While I didn't peruse the whole store, the advertising at the store emphasizes their low prices. I spent my time primarily in the CD section which was surprisingly sizable. The new releases here are priced around $20 (about $15.20 US), but they have a bargain bin here with some fairly recent released albums for under $10 (about $7.60 US). Since Amazon isn't in Australia and there aren't many music stores around due to iTunes, JB Hi-Fi is one of the best places in Sydney to buy CDs. If you are looking for the best prices on your home entertainment needs, the best place to start looking in Sydney is JB Hi-Fi. They have stores everywhere. So if you can't find something at one location, you might be able to find it at another nearby store.

However, when compared to Clarence Street store, there is minimal staff working and therefore the service is slow. I have experienced different levels of service here depending on the time of day. If you come early enough, before 9 am there is no reason to wait for copy services or to be served.

Officework's Sydney city location is a pointy-head's Nirvana and hard to fault. It's spacious well-lit and clean and as you enter there is a staff member there to greet you and ask you whether you need any assistance to find what your looking for in its vast depository of paper, pens, stationery and electronics. There are a lot of photo terminals towards the rear of the store (these do get popular during the lunch time rush so my advice is take advantage of its early opening hours and do your photo processing before work). One annoying thing is the haphazard way people are attended to at the printing/photo area. During peak times there should be a dedicated person looking after photo customers rather than also attending to customers wanting printing done (as these always take the longest to serve). Staff are always friendly and will approach you if you look like you are trying to find something (rather than running away at first eye contact). This Officeworks gives me the same exhilaration I get when I drive into the carpark of my local Bunnings hardware store - the only thing missing is the community sausage sandwich stand out the front.
