I literally took Mike a giant box of 55 old VHS, MiniDV, and Hi8 tapes for digitizing. He did such a fantastic job from start to finish. The videos look amazing, and my wife and I have been watching them nonstop for the past few days. You can provide your own HDD or SSD for the file transfers, or he can provide them for you. I tossed all the videos into a Plex server and stream them to my 75 inch 4K TV and they all look fantastic. Audio completely flawless and in sync too. Many of them were upscaled to 1080p and both picture and audio are great. If you're into audio/video stuff you'll have some great conversations with him. If not, don't sweat it and he'll take care of everything... you don't have to worry about a thing. Mike is super nice dude, does a great job, and his pricing is fair too. I will absolutely go back if I can dig up more old tapes that need digitizing. Honest, upfront reasonable pricing, capable, knowledgeable, professional... The List goes on... Mike converted an old VHS Cassette tape to a USB drive and did a fantastic job with it. I originally reached out via YELP and he responded within 24 hours with upfront pricing, and exactly what I needed to bring if I wanted a USB conversion. I have a choir concert VHS tape about 25 years old and I first used a mail-in digital transfer service (i didn't know it's in Florida). It took me more than a month to see the result which is totally unwathchable (a blue screen appears every 5 sec). After I received the returned tape, I searched for local shop and found Mike's place. It took Mike only 6 days to finish the job and it is fantastic. It turned out that there is nothing wrong with my tape and the digital transfer is flawless. Dropped of a few reels of film from the 1967 to have digitized for my dad . The end results was color corrected and saved to a thumb drive for easy access. I would like anyone interested in having a video made for any reason that Mike was so helpful as was Ernie (on the front end.) I put myself in charge of handling a personal memorial service video for a very good friend of mine who had passed. I had a VHS of my daughter's junior high school play that I treasured but, don't have a VCR anymore and could never view it. I took it to Mike and had been worried all week that it was so old it might just break or dissolve when he tried to play it! (HA!) But, it was ready when promised and when I picked up I told him that I had been nervous because, I told him it was her junior high school play but, what I did NOT tell him beforehand was that she had just turned 40!!! It was so great to watch it, I got a copy to send to my daughter and granddaughter and then ended up calling back to ask for two additional copies for my mother and sister who wanted to see it. We had many 8mm, Hi8 and VHS tapes that we wanted to preserve and now they look and sound great. The results were 632GB of files encoded in the H.264/MP4 format and the process took about 6 weeks, so Digital Arts Plus can handle large projects well. Mike was a really nice guy. Straight shooter, who clearly has a vast knowledge of video and picture technology. He was nice enough to take my slides, pictures, and 8mm real on a moment's notice, and had them all digitized in High Def within a few days! Pricing was super reasonable and I actually got charged less than originally quoted because he found that the real had less feet of film than we originally thought. The technology he had to process the films etc. was impressive. I am very happy with the results, the photos and film (from 1967) look way better after he cleaned them up. They did a great job transferring my parent's reel of home movies to a USB. They explained in detail their process. They charge you for only what they transfer and give you back all items in exactly the way you presented it to them. I had done my research on my project. Many other companies splice up your tapes and charge for empty spots on tour transfers. We have now used them twice and will be returning for other work. Please note that they are in demand and as such, it probably will be about 4 week + turnaround time. So you will need to plan for that. read more

There is a reason all the reviews but one are 5 stars - the other is 4 stars:-). Mike is the owner. The quality of his work and the meticulous care he gives to his clients' media is exceptional! I have been using DAP for the better part of 6 years to digitize my father's art work, Duke of Manhattan newspaper comic strips, Little Mo and Famous American Stamps coloring books; and family photos, videos, music, and letters. Almost 40 GB! He cleans every photo, every piece of film, every letter before digitizing it. He has digitized photos in their frame, digitized individual elements of a scrapbook or entire pages to keep the continuity of the scrapbook. He keeps letters and written documents in PDF, again to maintain continuity. He has the equipment to handle all types of media - Super 8 film, diskettes, vinyl recordings, and more. He took a video recording of multiple events over a number of years and broke it into individually named segments. And he can add music in the background of videos if requested. The only media he couldn't handle were our steel records of Hansel and Great at the Metropolitan Opera made in 1940. They require players with Cactus needles! He has never lost any of our media and he could double his prices and it would still be a bargain. Digital Arts Plus is a diamond in the rough. read more

Five Stars to Digital Arts Plus. I brought in 45 hours of tapes in various formats some from over 20 years ago. I actually only had about 16 hours of footage but they did an incredible job of transferring to a stick holding 66G of footage. They were able to clean up some of the footage. I couldn't be happier to have all the videos to go back and watch and share with family. I highly recommend their services but suggest making sure you give them plenty of time.
