We were walking towards the beach to play with our dog when we realized that we forgot the ball!!!! We were just in front of this shop and went in! It was soooo cute! The staff was extremely friendly and you can tell that they love dogs! Our dog was so happy and excited with all the attention he got :) We ended up getting a ball and a holiday collar for our pup. They had cute clothes for dogs but mostly small breeds (we have a golden retriever). They have plenty of toys, tags, etc. Cooper also got plenty of treats so I can say that the three of us loved this place! read more

Diggidy Dog is a doggie heaven! Or rather, its human's heaven - we enjoy browsing the store as much as our dog, if not more. There are small doggie boutiques all over the Bay Area, one or two in every downtown, but Diggidy Dog is special. Be it a magical vibe of Carmel, or simply wider selection of exotic treats, t-shirts and other clothes, everything from bowls to strollers screams at you, "buy me"! The personnel here is as friendly as should be, doggie-patrons from small to large are cute, and even if you don't have a dog yourself, be sure to stop by and say hello to other's! read more

Wow! Customer service was pretty lame! We wander over to Monterey and Carmel about once a month. We got a new puppy and I had looked up dog stores in Carmel and was super excited to check out diggity dog. The store was wonderful, its a lot bigger than it looks from the road. I loved strolling through and oogling at all the many options and trying to decide what to buy. This would have been a 5 star experience if it werent for the girls working there. They were unhelpful, unfriendly, rude at times, and acted as if I was bothering them when I needed help. They aren't welcoming at all and when I had been in there awhile and they finally even acknowlwdged my prescence they said it like they HAD to and wanted to get it over with to mark it off their list. I hope that the owners see this review and can either work to improve their employees attitudes or hire people that really want to be there. I ended up leaving with just a couple small things to get me through the weekend. I had wanted to purchase quite a lot but I just couldn't bring myself to do it when I was being treated that way. Diggity dog, I hope to try you out again and when I do, I hope that my experience with your employees can this time match your lovely store. read more

This is a cool/large-ish boutique store for animals-mostly dogs but some cat stuff too. Toys big and small, treats and food of all kinds, dog beds, bowls etc. This is one of the shi-shi type stores where people with cute animals and some extra dough would probably get there fix-especially if they want to make sure their dogs fit in the clique at the local dog park. I threw up a little in my mouth when I saw the cute little kimono (for dog) and matching purse (toy), the leopard print dress (for dog) with matching hat, etc...When I was little, I loved dolls. I got in trouble for dressing up our cat in baby clothes and putting her in a stroller type thing. I also got scratched and bit. I learned (the hard way) that though cute, animals are not toys, but whatever. I get it. I really do. read more

Amazing! Our Wheaten puppy loved the store! We kept her on a short leash because there were treats at nose-level! She was able to pick from several different bins. We were able to get a number of treats that aren't available in a conventional pet store. There were also a number of cute outfits--hats, bow ties, bandanas! There were a number of toys and other cute pet-related items. We will definitely stop back during our next Carmel trip! read more

Diggity Dog store has always been a wonderful store and have recommended it to everyone. So disappointed when I visited their new store on Ocean. It looks just like any other small pet boutique in many towns not the great store it used to be. They are only carrying about a third of what was in their original store. So disappointing! read more

What a fantastic store!! We stumbled upon Diggidy Dog while parking our car to walk around downtown Carmel and as soon as I saw the adorable shop window lined with portraits of dogs I knew I had go in and get some stuff for my Rufus. If a doggy heaven exists, this is what it would look like. There is everything you could possibly ask for in this store: chicken and lamb rice drum sticks, pastry biscuits decorated as ice cream cones and donuts, costumes, hundreds of leashes and collars, and toys galore. $150 later I had completed all of my Christmas shopping for our family pets. Clearly it's not a cheap store but even if you plan on spending nothing, the experience of walking around and looking at all they have to offer is ALMOST as satisfying as purchasing your favorite finds. read more

A trip to dog-friendly Carmel is not complete without a visit to Diggidy Dog. I happen to be in Carmel for 4 days at a dog show so you'd think I'd already gotten my fill of doggie bling. But no, a trip here is mandatory since Diggidy Dog has an incredible inventory of goodies that would even make the dog show vendors envious. The assortment of collars, leashes, doggie wardrobe, toys and treats is tremendous and so are the prices, but you ARE in Carmel! Every well dressed dog shops here! I always make a purchase here, sometimes large, sometimes small but my dogs love to be surprised. These pampered pups are always greeted with smiles when we arrive making them feel like they are welcome. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, making it very easy to spend big bucks on doggie must-haves. On this visit I also discovered a decent section of grooming products. I purchased a leave in conditioner and detangler with hopes that my dog's ears will look like a show dog's after a bath. Dogs and owners always leave smiling. Even if you aren't a proud dog owner you'll get a kick out of seeing what we do for our dogs. read more

Diggity Dog is the concours d' elegance of dog boutiques. We love this place as does Winston our Entlebucher. We come every couple of months and always end up buying something, needed or not. The employees are extremely polite and helpful and patient with us. They put up with me trying on every funny looking outfit I possible can on Winston. They have everything an animal lover could want. They recognize Winston now when we come in and are just super kind and complimentary. If you are like us and your dog eats better and uses better shampoo than you do, then you will fall head over paws in love with this place. read more

We come to Carmel a couple times a year and always make a walking trip here with our dogs. We let them pick out their own specialty treats they sell in bulk. The employees genuinely love seeing the dogs who shop and visit. I have bought my dogs their birthdays cookies here and many toys. They also seek shampoos and beds and huge variety of collars, leashes, cat toys, and clothing. None of my dogs, all shelties, need clothing but fun to look at. If you have a fur member of your family, you need to visit. read more

OK, cool store, monster selection. Expensive? Did you forget what town you are in? Hello? Go the day after Halloween or Christmas if you want to get seasonal toys at 1/2 off. Trust me, your dog WILL NOT know! My dog loves the giant screaming gorilla and it's the only place I can find it in JUMBO size. Love this place. Staff is fabulous. Also, they give you a list of all the restaurants, stores and bars that will allow your furry friend. SWEET! read more

I love this place, my dog loves this place. The only thing I don't love about this place is that it isn't cheap. The people that work there are friendly, and the selection is amazing. Of course it's Carmel, and everything feels a little better there. Even spending a ton on swag for my pooch. read more

While I loved everything in here, I will say it was quite pricy. Luckily it was Memorial Day weekend and we found a small sale. All of their shirts were 10$ if they had their logo on it. We picked a cute, soft brown t shirt for our puppy. I love their sizes. My dog is a bit long, so it can be a struggle to find a shirt that fits him, because he is also kind of small. In their size, he was consistently a large. I wish I could shop here for him more often, because it is my favorite for clothes. read more

Doggy heaven!!! This place has absolutely everything and anything you could possibly need/ use for your pooch! Lots of cool treats, collars and leashes. Staff is friendly, they loved my Zoe, so 5 stars! read more

This place is pricey, (of course it is, it's Carmel!), but it's a fun place to look around. They have all those overpriced "homemade," adorably decorated dog cookies that cost WAY too much and bring the owners more joy than they do the dogs... but they also have bulk treats that are more reasonable. And the staff might even slip your li'l buddy a free sample or 5... ;) I always end up buying treats here, because our dog loves them (yeah, I'm sure she doesn't know the difference between these and something she found in the cat box....but doggie cheese nips are much more acceptable). They also have a few unique items and nice toys you don't see most places (We were quite happy with the Himalayan Dog Chew suggested by an employee!) read more

I would like to thank the owners Jeff and Napisa for reaching out to me after reading my negative review. Jeff and Napisa were very accommodating and resolved the issue with me and I appreciate that they took the time to do so. In return, I bumped it up two stars and I will return to Diggidy Dog in the future to give them another chance and see how things go. Hopefully next time we visit the customer service will be much better, that way I can update my review and give them a higher rating. I'll see you soon Diggidy Dog! read more

A new scarf, a bow tie, a leash or a toy? Diggidy Dog has that and a lot more. Pets are welcome to come in and try on a coat, collar, leash, or scarf. They can even pick out their own toy. Just keep an eye on them when walking pass the treats at their level. They might be good boy or girl but a treat at eye level maybe too tempting for them to pass up. I was able to find a couple of collars that looked snapping on the little guy. it is hard to walkout without purchasing a couple of items. At least the little guy didn't walk out wearing a bow tie. I was tempted but he was having nothing to do with it. it may have been the toy poodle that caught his eye or simply he is a boy dog that likes to roll in the dirt. I digress. If looking for a great selection of toys, leashes, collars, beds or clothing this is the place to drop in to look around. it is hard for me to leave without picking up the little guy something new. read more

What a great staff! We were visiting Carmel from San Jose with Johnny the wonder poodle when I noticed that he was acting hungry. He is not a food driven dog and he had had breakfast, never the less I wanted to get him something. The young sales woman said that they could sell food by the pound. I measured out about a cup, half of his normal meal (I didn't want to give him too much of a new food). The sales woman took a look at the small amount and said that Johnny's snack was their treat. This small gesture told us they care about dogs and means that every time we are in Carmel we will shop Diggidy Dog read more

BEST DOG STORE IN CARMEL! --- THE DEETS: - Amazing customer service: helpful, knowledgeable staff and patient staff - Great products: Tanner & Dash, Auburn Leather, Rubit, etc. --- OVERALL: This is definitely a ritzy dog store for people who love to splurge on their furry friends. A super soft Tanner & Dash sweater can run anywhere around $60-$70. Auburn Leather leashes and collars are great quality leather products and standard prices. There were a few things I thought were worthwhile purchases, like a Tanner & Dash collar. Tanner & Dash no longer makes collars and leashes for doggies. So, I'm glad I snagged a high quality leather collar for my dog and at a discount! Would recommend dog lovers to stop by and check out the goods. It's always fun just to browse anyways. #431 read more

Best puppy store ever. It has one of everything from treats to toys to leashes. We went twice, just because it was so fun.

This is really a fun little shop. We used to go to their old location but this spot is much better. The staff are very friendly and it is clearly evident that they truly love dogs. My dog really enjoys all of the attention (and the treats) they give her. read more

I don't even have a dog, and I still love to come here! A must-see if you're visiting downtown Carmel and you have a pooch (or at least know one) that you'd like to spoil. This is like a Neiman Marcus for dogs with an extensive selection of upscale items. The blankets are softer than what I use for myself, the doggie shampoo costs more than my Pantene (purchased in bulk from Costco, of course), and the cookies look good enough for humans to eat. But if you're anything like me, you'll be willing to pay that price for the dog that you love. Regrettably, most of the accessories are for smaller dogs, but we've found some really nice collars and toys (including a Chewy Vuitton purse) for our "niece" Beretta, who is half boxer / half pitbull. The staff is friendly toward human and canine visitors alike. read more

Cute cute cute! Specialty store in Carmel that boasts treats of all varieties, fancy harnesses for the tiny little ones, and nicer bedding than my own for that special furry friends in our lives. Stopped by before we left the pretty Monterey coast because my sister's two spoiled yet very communicative dachshunds were crying loudly for their special harnesses (Puppia brand). This fancy boutique is located in the upscale shopping blocks leading to the white sands of the beach. Located on the lower level of another building, I stepped down the stairs and entered the Diggidy Dog. The store is long, with lots and lots of distractions along the way to the back, which houses all the leashes, harnesses, and other fancy doggy accoutrement any Tinkerbell could ever want. As my sister proceeded to select the lime green Puppia harness for her long haired weener dog, I wandered around like a typical window shopper. In addition to the typical squeaking toys and balls, the front of the store has a great display of baked goods. Yes, but baked doggie treats and desserts. Baked treats dipped in white chocolate with sprinkles, dried rawhide stretched over larger turkey patties, sinews dipped in chicken broth....the list goes on. I selected several of the sinew treats for my little furry friend and more baked goodies as treats on the drive home. Although the treats were a graet deal, other items were pretty pricey. The Puppia brand harnesses for smaller dogs cost around $20-30 each. Leashes run around $10 and up and the beds were around $50. Good service, dogs are welcome to roam under the watchful eye of their owners (one giant poodle snatched a biscuit off the tray while the owner had her back turned), and a maltese was busy rummaging in a basket full of toys. I'd come here again with my puppy again! (posting pics tomorrow (^_^) read more

Diggity Dog is one of the best dog boutiques that I have ever been to. They would have received 5 star if they didn't accidentally charge me for 2 items I didn't buy! The receipt from Diggity Dog does not indicate the "items" purchased. Instead, it only shows the price and total. I was charged for 5 items when I only purchased 3. I purchased a dog cookie ($2.95), a dog lead ($14), and dog food ($25). When I got home my receipt had 2 additional ($3.95) charges which I have no idea what they were for. Being a trusting person, I never bothered to double-check the receipt when I was paying. Partially my fault for being stupid, but geez the store should not charge you for extra things! Because of this, I will probably never return. On the bright side -- they have the biggest inventory I have ever seen. Toys, collars, clothes, treats, food, baked goods, etc. The store is huge and if you love your fur ball like I do, it'll be hard to resist buying every single thing in the store. read more

Large Selection, lots of specialty items and friendly staff. You'll see lots of people in here on a busy weekend and plenty of dogs and their owners shopping for goods here. I cant believe that people will actually spend over $175 for a dog stroller. I wonder if they know how ridiculous they look pushing a dog around town in a stroller. Anyway, there are lots of leashes, toys, beds, grooming supplies and treats here. The staff are really friendly and knowledgeable. read more

I was really excited to find a pet store via yelp upon our recent visit as I know Carmel is a very dog friendly town...we walked into the store and as i looked for toys or treats to bring home to my three dogs I was disappointed. They had a very small selection of not very cute toys. They have cuter toys at petsmart. Disappointing! Then when I went to the treat bar I was again disappointed. None of the treats looked very appealing and some of them lacked labeling so I had no idea what they were. I otherwise would have bought both treats and toys home to my furry children. The place is also a really cute corner building and a lot could be done with the space with decor and more product that is fun and interesting. Overall dissatisfied with the selection and store experience. read more

Diggidy Dog is a super cute boutique located in Carmel, California. I am always overwhelmed by their selection. There is an entire wall dedicated for higher end collars and leashes such as collars with real crystals. They even a "bakery" section with doggy treats that looked just like cookies! I'm from the area and Diggidy Dog is one my frequent stops for my pup's needs. However, I had a poor experience in my last visit. I came to the store to return an item because it was the wrong size. The male employee hassled me about my return even though I was compliant to their return policy. He was rude and abrasive and made me feel uncomfortable. This store is really a fun place to visit, but I think it will be a while before I come back. read more

Amazing and fun store to shop for pets. I usually hate stuff like this but after being dragged into thousands of them by a certain lady, this is by far the best. Super cute dog boutique with lots of unique items including toys, outfits, and treats. Fun place to visit when I'm in Carmel with my pup

Large pet boutique in downtown Carmel filled with a huge selection of small dog clothes (halloween costumes too!), high end treats, luxury beds and all kinds of toys for your pampered pup. We were looking for our chihuahua and her cousin and walked out with goodies for the both of them. Pricing is comparable to other expensive pet boutiques so I definitely wouldn't shop here on a regular basis. Again, great selection of fun and unique gifts though. read more

This is the cutest doggy store ever! My husband and I loved bringing our miniature dachshund here for a visit. The employees were so helpful and kind, and seemed to genuinely enjoy meeting our dog. The dog treats here are fab! I always get a special cookie or 3 for my pup every time we visit. They have a great selection of leashes & collars in all sorts of styles. My only gripe is that sometimes the employees are a little *too* attentive to my dog. I definitely don't mind her getting petted or handed a small treat, but sometimes an employee will keep interacting with my dog even when I'm trying to walk away. Then I just have to awkwardly stand there until they're done baby talking her. Eh. Despite that, I totally love Diggidy Dog! read more

My fiance and I were debating on whether or not we should go into this store. We were in a rush to get back to San Jose and our puppy, Siopao looked exhausted. So, we made a deal, if there's parking right in the front of the store, we'll go in. If not, we'll drive home and look at their website instead. Luckily, there was parking =) What I love about mom and pop stores like this (if you can even call it that, since this store is HUGE) is that the workers are so friendly. Siopao was immediately greeted with a treat, and when the saleswoman found out how picky she was, searched for other treats that she thought my pup would like. Their selection is awesome. We found harnesses, toys, and treats that we've never seen at other pet stores before and we've been to A LOT. The fiance and I were definitely glad we stopped by. Why the 4 stars? This store put a dent in my wallet. I will definitely come back though! read more

I always love coming to this store. It has so much stuff, both for dogs and cats. I walked out with treats for the dog and a catnip fish for kitty, which she has licked and thrown and bitten since minute one. I gave too much of the treats to the pooch and made him suffer with diarrhea and other things unfortunately, but that's my own fault. If you're looking for a tres fashionable leash or collar, this place has a gazillion! read more

We stopped in Diggidy Dog to see if we could get a little something for our dog. The store has a large selection of anything you can think of for your dog. The staff was very friendly and our dog loved everything in the store. We ended up just getting a bag of organic, natural dog treats (biscuits). The pricing of the treats is comparable to what we see at Muttropolis in La Jolla, CA (if not better). I'd recommend if you are in the area with your pup to stop in. They'll at least get a treat and have a chance to do their business in the patch of grass in front of the store. read more
