I think it's pretty difficult to get personality into spaces with a wide open front that open onto a mall or walk way but it can be done as wit places like Bills in the Bullring. The designs on the walls and in the cafe feel a little bit canteen here for me and the space feels a little bit cold overall. I had a pretty good chai latte but it was not the hottest it could have been which again just slightly let it down for me. The place was quite busy when I went in which could explain them rushing the drinks but I have only been once so have to judge it on the experience I had that day.Paying over £3.00 for a lukewarm drink is just not ideal. I will be back to try again and hopefully i'll have a much better experience to report :)

The coffee here is good, creamy, but very sharp. I've asked them to make sure their decaf supplies are kept high (they ran out, apparently there was a sea of rabid Yelpers draining their supplies yesterday). 8oz is a little small, the large measures are well worth the premium price tag. I'm in Millennium Point almost every day so if there's more, I'll update again...

I think I am going to say it…read more.. This is my favourite Indian restaurant in Birmingham City Centre! Manzil's is situated about a minutes walk from the Bull Ring and people in the know who know about curry know what I am talking about with this place. When you walk in, you are met with a homely and friendly atmosphere which makes it a delight to eat in. It's an old school curry house which I love. I really like the wallpaper! I have got to know the waiters as I have visited so many times, who are really chatty and are always happy to see you. If you see Hakeem, he loves his Football! The music they play is so random and unexpected. The last visit I made, they were playing Britpop hits of the 1990's haha On this visit, I was with 4 friends from down south who were visiting me for the day, who are tough critics I may add! I had the Chicken Pakora which was a great starter and just the right size to begin the meal. For the main course I had a lovely Dhansak which was really filling with Pilau rice. Manzil's speciality is their sizzling dishes which provides a good alternative if you are not in the mood for a hearty curry. The biggest surprise came when the bill arrived and we split it. One of my friends said "That price wouldn't even get you a starter which isn't half as good as that in London." Says it all really!

I'd put it down to them doing more sales via delivery. But judging by the reviews of this place it's not a well kept secret. I was brought her as a 'proper curry virgin' by experiences prior had been out of a jar and pub curries. According to a friend this was unacceptable, so off we went. I can't remember what I ordered. I know it was vegetarian and not spicy - I can't do spicy as much as I try. You get a lot for your money, going for an Indian can be an expensive affair but this was reasonable by the amount of food received. The service as well is excellent, always smiling and helpful. I really must go again, I whole heartedly suggest the rest of you do too.

I used to come here in my teenage years and thought I'd give it another try the other day and wasn't disappointed. The chicken was a bit too greasy but still had more meat than bone, unlike a lot of other fast food chicken. I prefer thin chips and the ones I had were a mixture of soft and crispy and not greasy! I like the fact that anybody can eat in but the plastic chairs aren't comfortable. Having softer chairs would definitely encourage me to sit in and eat for a change. The service is still friendly and the guys a chatty. If you're looking for cheap, quality fast food then this is a good place to come. The only bad thing I have to say about this fast food joint is that there are some dodgy looking people that hang around here. So it's best to avoid going at night and try and go with somebody.

First of all, friendly and accommodating service with the menus being displayed before us as we approached the counter. Both my colleague and I decided to go for fish and chips, but I decided to cross East with West and have masala fish and chips. The chips were incredible and the generosity of the garlic mayo was deeply appreciated, and will come back for more. However, was let down by the cod that was chewy, dry and on the stringy side of things. I enjoyed the taste of the masala, but it was hard to cut into the fish (which normally is like butter melting) and my colleague, who had the cod alone, felt the same about the texture and said that batter was soggy and flabby. Not good enough for a fiver each I'd say. Torn between the heavenly chips and the fish where the taste capsized. Not sure if I'd go again. I'll see how I feel at this time on a Friday again.

I wanted to give 5 stars so badly, but I just can't. I looked forward to visiting this place for…read moremonths (had to wait until my trip in town - I'm based in London). The food was excellent. The bartender and kitchen staff were wonderful and had smiles on their faces. The home brews were great. The ambiance was awesome. However, and I say this with the sincerest hope that this feedback helps their business, their two wait staff seemed like they needed to star in a remake of Fawlty Towers - such a terrible experience it nearly ruined the place for me and could take down the reputation of the whole restaurant despite its many many high points. One staff member informed me what I ordered wasn't possible - I read the menu on what half&half naan combos you could do and couldn't do and what I ordered wasn't listed as an exception but she told me the menu needed an update and that's a mistake. I then had to go for my second choice which confused the other waiter as he seemed to have no idea what the "half & half" option even meant and told me I couldn't have it. It's their signature dish. How could he not know? The bartender saw he was confused and came over to help and told him my order was fine, clearly seeing it was the waiter at fault not me. I ordered a half pint so I could try 2 x half pint beers. I was delivered a full pint. When I pointed out the problem the bartender just told me to keep it and I'd only be charged the half (again, another server mistake he had to fix). When I finished dinner I tried to order the dessert they were advertising on the board, gulab Jamun & ice cream. I was told they had no ice cream. All their desserts had ice cream, so they had no desserts as they're advertised. I ordered a starter and chai jnstead. They brought me some cutlery for my starter well after bringing me the dish. I'd nearly finished it at that point. I ate it at a normal pace for dahi puri but the bottom fell out of the last one, which I've never experienced in a restaurant before (but maybe that's just because of all the tasty filling, maybe too much yogurt for the thinner shell to manage). Meanwhile, one of these servers spilled an entire pitcher of water all over the people at the table nearby, barely apologized, and left the floor soaking wet after the other ran a mop over it maybe once without much care to do the job properly. One of the gentlemen at that table had to sit his whole meal with visibly wet trousers. I had planned to go and try several beers and even purchase some to bring home. Unfortunately I had no desire to stick around after all this. I was so disappointed as this place has SO much potential and I want to be their biggest advocate! If it were in my hometown I would go all the time if they fixed this one problem. I know they have plans to expand soon - maybe if they're aware of the service problem they can ensure both locations are an absolute smashing success!

The difference here is that they also serve delicious Indian street food! Very reasonably priced all round. Beers are £3-4, smaller plates are £4ish with some bigger stuff up to a tenner. The two beers I tried (their IPA and a fruity red ale) were both superb. I also tried a pal's stout which was excellent. Had a chicken tikka roti to line the stomach which worked a treat and was delicious. The vibe is very cool, it was busy (we struggled to get a table) and the decor is colourful and funky. Like this place a lot and we'll be visiting many times in future I'm sure
