Usually my go to option for healthy food, when I don't feel like cooking. The variety of options are flavorful, and you can purchase extra sides if you desire. The vegan kale Cesar salad and the Mac and cheese are my top favorites! I feel like you can make no wrong choice here either way. The chili lime brussel sprouts, carrots, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, hot honey chicken, and charred chicken are all tasty as well.

I promised my wife that I would eat a healthy lunch. I had business a part of town that I don't usually frequent. After forlornly passing a couple of pizzerias,I bumped into Dig In. Generic decor with a few tables and counter seating. The staff were nice enough. The food was a pleasant surprise, on the high end of the salad bar/bowl scale. The pork tenderloin, broccoli and Brussels sprouted were really good. I was unsure about the seasoning of the farro salad, but wound up liking it more with each bite. Solid place. Better than Sweetgreen.

Order was bagged and ready for pick up upon arrival. Food is AMAZING. GREAT EXPERIENCE!!

Classic DIG

I had the Classic Dig. I particularly like the sweet potatoes, very flavorful. I put the garlic aioli sauce on everything. I also like that they have water available if you do not want to purchase water. This place is a nice healthy option. There's a few tables and chairs.

Amazing ingredients, love love their seared salmon! You can taste how fresh everything is. And not overly priced as many salad places are these days. For the few times I went inside of the store, service staff was very friendly and helped to suggest options and never got impatient when I needed a few more seconds. Chill ambiance, either you want to eat lunch quietly while reading a book, or you want to chitchat with a friend, you can all do it here.

I'm digging this custom bowl that I made before I wandered off to look at some NYC tourist designations. For my first time, the staff walked me through the directions, gave me pointers on their favorite items, along with the best sellers, then piled on tons of food for me to try. I'm so glad that I decided to stop in to try something new because I was definitely impressed with the amount of food, superior quality, interesting combinations, and the excellent staff. I would love to have this place near my home to try everything on the menu!

Yum! We ordered two custom bowls and really liked them. Bbq chicken with broccoli - great. The bbq sauce wasn't overwhelming but was really nice. It was a generous protein portion, and the veggies were fresh and well done. Meatballs with carrots and Greek salad - also great! The carrots were huge and perfectly cooked. Greek salad was average, might skip next time. We ended up getting more than two meals out of the bowls and felt the food was super fresh and a great value for the price.

Can you Dig it? Yes, I can. Recommendation from a co-worker. And I dig it. I've been her 2x times, and both bowls were digable planets. Portions are big, and the flavor is mouth watering. There are plenty of healthy options. Everything tastes fresh. One of my favorite sides is the Cashew Kale Caesar Salad (tuscan and green kale, spicy cashews, shaved cauliflower, cashew Caesar dressing) The mixture of cashews and a spicy dressing makes the kale more appealing. The chili crisp brussel sprouts are also a lip smacker. For the proteins, i tried the Charred Chicken Thigh chunks with lemon, spicy marinade, and also the Herb Roasted Chicken slices. Both were moist and yummy. Of course, the charred chicken had a bigger  flavor punch. All items that i have tried can be eaten as is, but they also provide a variety of side sauces with each meal. It's definitely one of my new go-to spots for lunch. I can DIG it.

Hot Honey Chicken Bowl
Tessa S.

This place exceeded my expectations. I got the hot honey chicken bowl and it was absolutely life changing. It's become one of my regular meals to get when I'm out and about. The chicken was flavorful and tender. The veggies were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The Mac and cheese is just so good. I love this place and will be coming back for years to come.

We reserved for a quick bite at Redeye Grill before catching Dog Day Afternoon on Broadway, but as soon as we walked up, some bouncer told us they were closed for a private wedding reception. We were dazed and confused because how was I able to reserve online? But the real plot twist was that it ended up being the best thing that happened. We actually stumbled into Tanner Smith's thinking it'd be the typical, boring bar-food spot. Nope. They first sat us at a hi-top by the door, but that wasn't our vibe, so we grabbed seats at the bar instead. Best decision. Our bartender, Josiah, was absolutely killing it. My cocktail had passion fruit, so of course I asked my usual question: "But is it real passion fruit?" He just nodded in agreement and that told me everything I needed to know. That drink was legit and had nice strength. The food was great too. My fish tacos were packed with fresh fish, the guacamole and salsa were chunky and full of flavor and hubs enjoyed his pastrami sandwich. I have no clue when we'll be back in Midtown, but one thing's for sure- we're sitting with Josiah again.

Two-part, proper settle, tight dome, no rushing it. That's rarer than it should be in Midtown where half the bars treat a stout like a lager. Whoever's behind the bar here has been trained or grew up around it. Food's better than a second-floor pub between 5th and 6th has any right to be. The JRB burger comes on a house-ground patty (they grind in-house, and you can tell, loose texture, actual seasoning), caramelized onions cooked down all the way, not just softened, good cheese pull. Fried pickles on the side had a crisp cornmeal shell and stayed crunchy under the burger juices, which never happens. Buttermilk chicken salad was the surprise. Chicken actually brined, crust stayed on, greens weren't an afterthought. Only real knock: music was loud. Not sports-bar loud, more like the bartender's playlist got away from him. Fine at the bar, harder at a table if you want to talk. Room's got real bones. Reclaimed barn wood, old rail track as a foot rest, that big 45-star flag on the wall. Been here almost 20 years and it's aged into itself. For the neighborhood the pricing's fair. Beats P.J. Clarke's on the burger, loses on quiet. Go for a beer and a burger, not a date.

Since I have a severe gluten allergy, I was very glad to see that the Whitby was able to accommodate my dietary restriction. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and we were blown away by the aesthetic of our dishes and how beautifully everything was presented! One thing that kind of confused me was why we were only served one pot of tea for two people - maybe it was because we ordered the same tea (oolong), but I guess normally I was expecting each person to get their own teapot. Our food took a little bit to come out but our server was so sweet and checked in on us many times and I assumed it obviously takes more time to prepare when certain people have allergies. I was truly shocked at the size of my gluten-free sandwiches; I'm so used to my bread constantly being super small so it was such a nice surprise to see how large and substantial they were on my tray lol (we take all the small wins we can!). All the sandwiches had great flavors and were so fresh - there was definitely way more food than I could finish in one sitting so I ended up taking a few to go. My favorite of the four was probably the lox one! The scones were also lovely - I really enjoyed the apricot preserves they brought to the table, in addition to the regular cream and jam. My friend tried both my gluten-free scone and her own regular scone and said there wasn't too much of a difference, besides my scone having a slightly crispier exterior. The sweets were also absolutely beautiful! My favorite was probably the rose lychee macaron - I believe it's a seasonal flavor and I'm so glad I got to try it! The other sweets were also great, including the strawberry parfait cup which had the lightest whipped cream ever! One of the sweets was this goat cheese mousse situation with a chocolate shell over it - it had more of a savory profile to it and the mousse almost reminded me of yogurt lol but it was quite interesting! Overall, my friend and I had a wonderful time here.
