I was a first time visitor at their 11am contemporary service this morning. They have a variety of…read morecoffee and creamers plus lots of different snack food items to eat in the lobby. The stage, lights, and musicians were a full-out contemporary concert experience. It is a relaxing and laid back service: comfortable cushioned chairs down the middle, round tables on the side with the same chairs around them. There were older people, younger people, middle age people, etc. Some people dressed down in T-shirts but other people dressed nice. Anything goes. They played three songs upfront, went into long announcements, children's moment (there were over 40 kids for sure!), then there's an offering collection while the band sings. Pastor Bill followed with a relatable sermon. Then there was a closing song. The songs and the sermon went together cohesively. It was a wonderful experience and I will be coming back.

The first night, my friend was hungry after dinner and asked if she could buy a snack at the snack bar (which was closed). The woman at the front desk ran around to get her two bananas and two apples and didn't charge her a thing. She was super accommodating too! When I couldn't get the printer to work (my own fault), she let me behind the front desk to print from the computer there. I am amazed by how nice the people are here. The food was ok, but not great. We had fried fish (good), tabouli (not good), cake (not good), tuna fish sandwiches (fine, but I would have enjoyed something else), and salad once as a main meal, which was weird. Overall, I did not like the food, but for people who were not expecting anything better there were no complaints. The rooms are nice and clean. The internet connection was slow at times and died a couple times. There is a pool, but it was too cold to swim. There is also a small gym, which is adequate for one or two people (bicycle and treadmill). There is also a volleyball net for people who want to play volleyball.

The website said they start at 11, so we showed up at 10:45, come to find out they're doing a special series for the month and don't start until 11:30. Had to drive around the parking lot a couple times before we could get a spot. Walking in, the greeters at the door didn't even say anything to welcome us in. It seemed disorganized. Everyone walking everywhere, looked like a bunch of bees flying around. This is a LARGE church by the way with police helping with traffic. We walked over to kids check in (which took us a while to find. I thought I was standing in line for it bc I followed the signs, but turns out it was just a guy and his daughter waiting for someone). The kids leaders were extremely welcoming and kind to my daughter. My daughter even made a friend. Austin checked us in and he was super friendly and helpful. After I dropped my daughter off, I went to wait for them to let us into the auditorium. Standing there by myself, not one person came up to me. They were all saying hey and chatting with people they knew, all regulars at the church. I was extremely uncomfortable. I did see the worship leader greet the people next to me, so I give them props for that. It was nice to see him trying to get to know people. They finally let us into the auditorium. The music was SO loud. The bass especially was irritatingly loud (I come from loud, band like churches, and this was bad). Still no one greeted me as I was sitting there for 15 mins waiting for church to start. When the band started playing, I could tell it wasn't good. The bass and drums were so loud, i couldn't hear the singer hardly. It was really hard to drop everything and focus on God because it was so loud. I did like how everyone was high energy. That's what I'm looking for in a church, is the excitement of praising the Lord. Apparently everyone had a coke and popcorn to which I had no idea I could get, since no one told me. So everyone around me was eating their popcorn and drinking their coke. I wish I could have gotten in on that. For this series, they watched clips of a movie and talked about Bible verses that relate to that scene. It was okay. The pastor was on screen the whole time, never in person (all pre-recorded). I wasn't into that. Someone wouldn't be able to write notes in paper bc it was dark the whole time with the lights out for the movie. It felt very mainstream being there, not a lot of people focusing on God, I feel like they're all there for their friends or to watch a movie. I also felt like I dressed up in heels and a dress to go to the movies. You could see the disorganization probably with the issues I encountered in my one first visit. We will keep searching.

First and foremost, they have the most welcoming and friendly community, women's & men's fellowship groups, awana, and the MOST uplifting Pastor! I can say more Good but that'll just be too long. When I first reached out, I didn't have a relationship with God, Pastor Mike took the time of his day to share the Good News and my life was forever change for the GOOD. I truly do feel a family base community here and I will never stop serving the Lord and this church. We will always have a seat for you here!

Church of Viera was the worst experience my wife and I have ever had at a Church. After watching a…read moreservice online last week we thought we would give the 10am service a try and drove 30 minutes to Viera only to be treated as if the Church did not care. After dropping my wife off at the door she is handicapped and walks with a walker, I went and parked the car and met her inside. I was super excited as the Church was packed. That is when it all went wrong. 1) We saw an usher and I said 2 seats please and pointed out my wife's walker. He looked at us and very rudely said "I ain't got nothing for you" which was weird as there were several reserved seats right in front of us. 2) So, we decided to just leave as we did not want to burden someone who cared less for us. 3) Upon walking out we gave the person holding the door the papers he gave to us as we walked in. We told him the usher said "he ain't got nothing for us". Instead of trying to help he then said, "have a good day" and I said, "thank you for making us feel wanted". 4) Several Church volunteers overheard and just said, "have a good day". 5) As we were approaching our vehicle a gentleman named Steve asked, is everything alright? We explained what had taken place and he was very apologetic and offered to escort us back in and help find seats. At that point we were already upset that the usher was so rude and declined his offer. He again apologized and said as a Christian that is not how you treat people. I know this is long winded, but I am still in shock as I write this 3 1/2 hours later. We are both in our middle 50's and my wife is handicapped from leukemia walking with a walker, and we were treated so rudely by an usher. Besides Steve from outside, not one single person offered to assist or help. This is clearly NOT the way JESUS would be treating people. Do Better Church of Viera Do Better.

My child's application was declined based on a teacher reccomendation from a teacher who has not…read moretaught him in 6 months. Since we pulled him out of that classroom, he has blossomed and is now a completely different child. Rather than taking ten minutes to even meet him or our family, I got a phone call saying that they "prayed over it" and it's not the right fit. While every school is not for every child, to tell me they "prayed over it" is just downright insulting. Maybe they should pray for grace, sensitivity, and compassion for children. The fact that a Christian school a)doesn't believe that a child can change for the better, and b)uses prayer as an excuse to exclude/be judgmental makes me, as a Christian, take serious pause. "We had a problem last year.." Really? Maybe You should be praying for guidance, wisdom, and resources. Because? The God I serve isn't judgmental or unkind. Labeling children as "undesirable" or "problematic" or "bad" was not something I EVER learned about in church. Shame on you. But, thank you for sparing my child your toxic, UN-Christ like environment.
