Caleb came to our home, looked over the project of replacing our old furnace and a/c. He assessed the project, explained our options, answered all of our questions and provided us with a detailed quote. Equipment was ordered and they were able to work us into their schedule in about a week; (over a week ahead of the initial date which was 3 weeks out)! This was wonderful as the weather had turned cold and our old furnace was barely working. Two guys showed up at 8:30 am and got right to work and a little later 3 others came to work also! By 4:30 they had removed the old furnace and a/c and completely installed the new furnace and a/c and had it all up and running! They were very professional, friendly, knowledgeable and thoughtful, going above and beyond the required amount of work necessary. Also, they picked up as they worked and completely cleaned the worksite both indoors and outside afterwards. This guy will sell you a generator with issues. Yes, we knew it was used. He said it was a working,…read moretested unit. Never worked from day 1 and all we got was excuses. He told us it was not working because of the gas not having enough pressure. That was a lie. Consumers tested the pressure and got a different pressure than he did. He ran it on propane but it did not provide power to the house even then. His point was that it could run on propane. Natural gas didn't work. I called consumers back out to check when I smelled gas. Consumers shut off our gas because when he ran this new flex gas line through my basement, he never put shut off valves on it. Because of the way the flex line was pulled through by my other pipes, there was a gas leak that started in the basement too. We had to have someone come and run a new gas pipe to our hot water tank and put in one of the shut off valves so consumers could come back and turn on our gas so we would not freeze. He came back out to put in a shut off valve outside of the generator. He told me it was not leaking gas but then later found the leak and had to order and wait on a part. He did come out to change the part and fixed the gas leak. Unit still didn't work. He stated we needed more pressure. We called consumers and for them to increase our pressure, they just wanted his license number and a signature stating our stove, hot water heater, and furnace could handle the extra pressure. He refused to provide that information and said Consumers needs to provide more gas. They couldn't without having the information on the form I provided to him. We had to have a company come out to do this certification and tell us what we needed to do when Consumers provided the extra gas pressure so our furnace didn't blow up. Providing that upgrade without such info could be dangerous. We had the other company run a 1" line since he put 1/2" to go about 75'. Consumers then had to come out and test everything and change the meter. This generator still isn't running. It is not getting power to the house. Runs a few seconds and then shuts off. Had a person check out the generator because he refuses to return calls now that he has our money. It's going to cost another $2000 to get this generator running. Looks like we see court in our future for all the money we've had to pay out for a piece of garbage now in my backyard. It's been months now with no resolution. When he takes care of this, I will remove my many reviews I will leave everywhere.

Problem began when I changed my home internet and changed my password. Several things in the house needed to be reset , phones TVs, alarm system and yes the generator. I was able to accomplish resetting all the devices to my new internet except the generator. It functions, still does weekly tests but i have no connectivity for remote monitoring nor can Kohler monitor my generator's activity. Called and spoke with Browning they sent me a link to a 4 minute video that was not very clear and at the end actually failed to change the password for the instructor so that was useless. Called back to Browning and they said they could send a technician to reset the password but there would be $100 fee! Which I don't think I should have to pay. Spoke with Brent Browning who said he wouldn't send anybody out without the $100 fee, however when they come in July to do annual maintenance he'll be happy to reset it then for no fee. He basically said because I had created the problem that I couldn't expect him to fix it for free. While he is correct that I created the problem by changing internet provider, there should be a user friendly way for me to change the password for the generator. And I think he owes me that. The ability to remotely monitor the generator's activity and tests is a huge perk. And unless the Kohler national hotline can help me. I guess I'll have to wait until July to enjoy that (6 months from now!) Service after the sale has always been an important factor in my purchasing decision.
