Eventually, when I started to have my own fine jewelry I became a customer myself. Maria is always open to my ideas and is very creative and experienced. She took the stones from my engagement ring and wedding band from my first marriage and created a beautiful and unique ring I've gotten so much enjoyment from wearing. There are many other examples of beautiful quality work at reasonable prices. Great value! I live in Florida most of the time now and still travel there to take care of anything with jewelry! For me the most important thing about a jeweler is trust. When I inherited some family jewelry, I had no compunction about leaving it there.. in some cases for appraisal, consignment, or to hold until I decided what to do with it. It can be scary to leave your precious jewelry with a stranger even for appraisal! How do you know when you pick it back up that you still have the same stones in your ring or necklace or whatever? With Horn & Co, I have 100% trust. No doubts ever.

She went in today to look around & find something else she liked better. She was told could only exchange for 2 weeks. That is a very very short exchange window. I am sure she would have ended up spending more money on whatever else she choose today. She said there were 2 workers & they were so rude to her. Have always found cute things in this store but won't be shopping there ever again. Very disappointed. Wish they had verbally told me about the 2 week window originally when I asked & I probably would have only bought 1 pair of earrings & not spent $100 on 2 pairs as I often have different taste from my daughter. I knew if she came in to exchange a pair she would have found something she liked better. I just don't want others to have the same bad experience we did.

In early January, I took a gold watch bracelet to them to have two links made to lengthen the bracelet. While in their possession, I inquired almost weekly for an update on an estimate for cost and time needed to perform the work but never received it. After about two months of waiting, I decided I'd take it back and have someone else work on it. When I went to pick it up, Sonya the store manager, handed it back to me in pieces. I started putting it back together when I noticed there were pieces missing. Had I not checked, Sonya would have let me leave the store with it in that condition. After pointing out the missing pieces, she said she would look for the missing parts and have it ready the next week. So I came back the next week and the bracelet wasn't there. I wasted my time going to the store when they could have called me to let me know it wasn't there. I was told to come back again the following week. I came back the next week and when I inspected the bracelet again, I found that it was again missing parts, but now it had been damaged. It looked like one or possibly more of the links had been hit with a hammer. How they managed to damage it so badly I have no idea. The parts damaged shouldn't have even been handled at all. I'm now waiting for Sonya to again resolve this but at this point, this watch bracelet is likely a loss and will need to be claimed as such by their business insurance. The cost is almost irrelevant though as this bracelet is irreplaceable. Don't take your valuables to Best Jewelers because they may end up like mine - ruined.

For context, I have had several negative experiences in the past with this jeweler, including condescending comments about jewelry quality, but what just happened is so far beyond this. I dropped off my diamond engagement ring to get repaired. The women whose husband owns the store called me and told me that my diamond was fake, that it was cubic zirconia. I was devastated, as was my husband who paid a lot of money for it. She then calls back 30 minutes later and says that she makes a mistake. She did not apologize or take any accountability and instead blamed me. Please do not trust this store with your jewelry. They are clearly not experts at determining jewelry quality. They are also very rude and condescending.
