Quality of service has gone way downhill since the shop transfered owners. Current ownership is sloppy, unprofessional, and borderline rude. A simple transaction was littered with errors, questionable business practices and awkwardness. The craftsmanship is fine, quite good actually, but not good enough to compensate for the unprofessionalism. This is not the Farnan's you knew. Time to find a new shop. read more

Unusually knowledgeable, the shop manager is highly motivated to meet customer needs. In business since 1915. For my antique watch and its leather strap, the manager had a ready supply of different-sized pins to ensure that watch and strap would not become detached, a challenge that other jewelry shops on the Main Line had been unable to meet. Without these hard-to-find pins, the risk of losing the watch strapped to my wrist would be too great for day-to-day use. Highly recommended. read more

I would rate them with ZERO stars if I could. Consistent rudeness by staff/owner. I have ALWAYS been made to feel that I'm bothering them, whether in person or on the phone. I was told not to arrive less than an hour before closing (huh?) and not to call to check on work being done--they would call me. But they never did. After Wayne Jewelers closed I looked forward to working with another local jeweler. But they have made the 3 or 4 visits I have had very unpleasant (I kept trying to catch them in a good mood ). I recently had an issue with the clasp on my Rolex. After being overcharged for a repair at a local Rolex AD, I decided to try Farnan. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, and they had me in and out within 10 minutes. While I was willing to pay for the service, they refused to charge me. They have a variety of jewelry options available at many price points, and can do custom work. Would highly recommend. read more

I took my deceased husband's Rolex there to have it appraised and returned a week later to find that it had been disassembled and was in pieces. I did not authorize what I was told was a complimentary cleaning and when I asked for it to be reassembled and returned to me asap I was told to come back in a few days to collect it or they would give me $200 for it. I received a pair of "fashion" earrings as a gift from this place. They are low quality junk that look like they were made by a 5 year old. The crystals aren't in a straight line at all. I can't speak to their custom jewelry, but you can find nicer looking "fashion" jewelry at Walmart. read more

We were referred to Jeremy from another friend who got their engagement ring through him, and despite living in Philadelphia, it was worth the journey to Wayne. Jeremy/Claire make you feel like you are building a long-term relationship with your jeweler, rather than a transactional experience. They both worked within our budget and designed three amazing rings that really helped cap off our wedding experience. The engagement ring in particular is breathtaking. I would give a 0 star review if I could. We drove 35 minutes out of our way this afternoon to visit Farnan Jewelers. After being in the store for at least 30 minutes waiting for help, we were asked "did you guys have any questions I'm trying to close up here" This was 45 minutes BEFORE posted closing hours AND after this man sat and talked with the same customers for a half hour about apartments and other topics that did not even involve jewelry. We were completely ignored and now they lost a sale and gained access to us telling everyone NEVER to go here. Don't waste your time. For a family owned business (that already looks to have low inventory) you really should pay more attention to customers who are ready to spend money. read more
