In early January, I took a gold watch bracelet to them to have two links made to lengthen the bracelet. While in their possession, I inquired almost weekly for an update on an estimate for cost and time needed to perform the work but never received it. After about two months of waiting, I decided I'd take it back and have someone else work on it. When I went to pick it up, Sonya the store manager, handed it back to me in pieces. I started putting it back together when I noticed there were pieces missing. Had I not checked, Sonya would have let me leave the store with it in that condition. After pointing out the missing pieces, she said she would look for the missing parts and have it ready the next week. So I came back the next week and the bracelet wasn't there. I wasted my time going to the store when they could have called me to let me know it wasn't there. I was told to come back again the following week. I came back the next week and when I inspected the bracelet again, I found that it was again missing parts, but now it had been damaged. It looked like one or possibly more of the links had been hit with a hammer. How they managed to damage it so badly I have no idea. The parts damaged shouldn't have even been handled at all. I'm now waiting for Sonya to again resolve this but at this point, this watch bracelet is likely a loss and will need to be claimed as such by their business insurance. The cost is almost irrelevant though as this bracelet is irreplaceable. Don't take your valuables to Best Jewelers because they may end up like mine - ruined.

Meanwhile, my boyfriend needed a link removed from his watch and he decided to try Kerkula's Jewelry, due to its 5.0 Google rating. After he called to confirm that they would be able to help, he told me that he believed the man he spoke to was black! I was very intrigued and decided to tag along. I dropped off several pieces and they were complete in less than a week! The work looks good, the pricing was fair and the customer service was top notch. They even agreed to meet my boyfriend outside of the shop to deliver his watch due to his work schedule and the tight turnaround he requested! For many years I've taken a number of items (usually Zippos or the odd pocket watch or two) for engraving. Three years ago I went in to have a Zippo engraved only to learn that the one guy in the entire store who can handle engraving was away. I went back three times over the course of three weeks until he was in. Ok, I put that aside until now. I was gifted a pen in early January and attempted to get it engraved. Here is what I encountered: 1. January-Solo engraver is on a two week vacation. 2. Two and a half weeks later I find out that solo engraver is opening another store in another state for a month plus. 3. I walk in to pinpoint that solo engraver would be on site today ( Monday, March 2nd) only to find the place closed! The only store in the mall that appeared to be closed. I will no longer recommend this establishment to anyone, especially if it's a time sensitive issue. I would select zero stars if possible.

Another jeweler had just told me it could mess it up but they would try and it would take a few days. I left that jeweler and on a whim, brought it in to Mike expecting to be told the same thing. For context, I have had several negative experiences in the past with this jeweler, including condescending comments about jewelry quality, but what just happened is so far beyond this. I dropped off my diamond engagement ring to get repaired. The women whose husband owns the store called me and told me that my diamond was fake, that it was cubic zirconia. I was devastated, as was my husband who paid a lot of money for it. She then calls back 30 minutes later and says that she makes a mistake. She did not apologize or take any accountability and instead blamed me. Please do not trust this store with your jewelry. They are clearly not experts at determining jewelry quality. They are also very rude and condescending.
