Perfect -- here's your Yelp review updated with all the details:…read more Review for Firestone Complete Auto Care (1325 Hwy 17 S, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582) This weekend, I found myself in a tough spot. After a trip to Myrtle Beach with five colleagues, we were preparing to drive back to Virginia when my 2017 Suburban developed a serious rattling noise. Stressed and unsure if it was even safe to drive, I went to Firestone on Hwy 17. At first, the front desk wasn't very responsive to my concerns -- but then Don, one of the mechanics, stepped in. Don didn't just glance at the issue -- he personally brought my vehicle into the bay, lifted it, inspected it thoroughly, and quickly identified the problem: bolts on the flywheel had loosened. He took the time to show me exactly what was wrong, patiently explained the situation in a way I could understand, and reassured me about what needed to be done. Not only did Don tighten the bolts, he also applied Loctite to make sure the repair would hold during our long drive back. Thanks to his quick thinking, expertise, and real compassion, we were able to make the journey home safely. Don didn't treat me like just another ticket number -- he treated me like a person under serious stress who needed real help. His professionalism, kindness, and dedication turned a scary situation into a manageable one, and I'll be forever grateful. Thank you, Don, and thank you Firestone for having someone like him on your team. He truly embodies what excellent service should look like.

After my car broke down on the side of the road this morning while in route to take my kids to school. ( we think my transmission went out, and that's a whole other story) We decided to fix an older car that we have for us to use until we can get mine fixed. The car has been sitting a while, and after working on it literally all day, Bryan decided it was out of his hands and decided to have it toed to the body shop to have it looked at. Sims, unfortunately was the one we chose. The first call was made at 1:23, and we spoke to a man (that sounded completely Drunk)that said he was coming right away. At 2:40, we had not seen or heard from him, so a second call was made. At that time we spoke to someone else, and said that the first message wasn't relayed, and HE would be coming out right then. 3:20 the 3RD call was made back. Still coming... had already sent his truck out. 4:23, call again, he's coming. Something came up and he's leaving right away. Final call was made at 5:50, and he informed me again that they were "On the way" Bryan asked if they were still going to have an available mechanic to look at it tonight as they had previously promised at 1:23, and he said that they wouldn't be able to look at it until Monday. When I exclaimed to them my frustrations and the fact that it is now well after 5 on a Friday, and now I have to wait all weekend without a car, he said something completely disrespectful, told me to call someone else and hung up the phone on me! Are you freakin kidding me? HORRIBLE business and HORRIBLE people!!!!

Was informed by friends of mine that knew them and had multiple horrible experiences doing business with them, they each told me essentially the same thing: watch them and don't trust anything they say/do. I just shrugged all of my friends' warning and as always I gave them the benefit of the doubt and continued to take them my business. More people, more warnings about them, I ignored it all. My vehicle finally kicked the bucket and Jamie Sr tells me he'll sell me a great suv on payments and I jumped at the bit bc of being in a tight spot at the time and after $3,000+ and years of BS excuses from him regarding the title and having to drive on drive out tags due to him screwing me out of a title that was according to him otw to him from a title loan place from the previous owner that Sims had never once seen or had or even attempted to get this title for a vehicle I had paid in full and at the end of everything I ended up putting more money in an unregisterable vehicle and unfortunately I believed him and by the time I seen the signs and realized what he'd done I had already paid it off. Don't get me started on the over exaggerated pricing and cockeyed repairs. Piece of advice take your vehicle and money elsewhere to a shop that will actually take care of you and fix the problem not over charge you and slap a band aid over it.

So I decided it was time to replace it on my 14 year old car, especially with summer just around the corner. I made an appointment and returned the vehicle Tuesday night for an early appointment. By noon the next day it was completed. It works so well I no longer need to run my fan at full blast. Of course replacing the condenser and compressor isn't cheap- but it was a whole lot less expensive getting the work done before complete failure!

STAY AWAY FROM BLACK'S unless you have more money than good sense…read more I'm not really a car guy, so when my Audi Q5 began making strange noise, I used ChatGPT to diagnose that I had a bad CV axle. I took my vehicle to Black's at 1201 Highway 17 S, North Myrtle Beach, and they confirmed that the CV axle needed to be replaced. Including labor, their quote was $2300. According to Kelly, the OEM part from Audi would be $1850, and the aftermarket part would be $1830. With this information, I went onto eBay and found new OEM axles for as little as $80. I then called two local auto parts stores, and their price was $230. One of the two stores gave me the name of a local mechanic who could be trusted. I reached out to the mechanic, and he said he could do the repair in one hour for $85. I immediately went to Black's and asked for my car back. I explained to Kelly that I found a much cheaper option. She looked me straight in the face and said she could not find that part for less than $1830. When I went to the auto parts store less than half a mile away, the guy there told me that Black's buys their parts from their store. My car is now repaired and working great again. So let me sum it up... Black's quote: $2300 Part - $1850 Labor - $450 My solution: $375 Part - $240 Audi bolts - $50 Labor - $85 I saved $1900!! Trust me when I say, I will NEVER even talk to Black's again. They will look straight into your eyes and smile as they try to rip you off.
