Kip took weeks to fix the water pump on my car. Didn't properly get the air out of the system. I ended up having to get the coolant system flushed elsewhere. read more

Kip is great! I had to unexpectedly come Myrtle Beach because of a family emergency and noticed a loud hum coming from my back left wheel during my drive. From previous experience I knew that I needed a wheel bearing replaced. I called Kip to explain the situation. We worked out the logistics via text. Then the very next morning he picked up the part and replaced the wheel bearing in the parking lot of my hotel. Cost was a little less than what I would have paid at my mechanic and had the extra convenience of him coming to me! I paid via Zelle and we were all set. Thanks, Kip! read more

Kip was amazing. We were at the beach on vacation and had trouble with our BMW X5 - bad alternator on a rainy Saturday afternoon. No repair shops would talk to us. I looked up mobile auto repair and Kip was it. He answered right away - was working on something already but gave us a price & ETA at our hotel. He had to remove the old first to get the right part (there were multiple it could be) - finished timely and everything worked great - he saved our vacation read more

I was on a weekend stay in Myrtle Beach when my car wouldn't start at the hotel. I found out that I needed to replace the starter. I called several local mechanics for quotes. Kip was by far the best price. Well... just as the cliche goes... you get what you pay for. I noticed engine noise each time I started it. And when driving, you can smell exhaust, acceleration was weak and gas mileage was down. I had a minor collision with some flexible guide posts and took it to a collision center for repairs. The body shop manager called me after they inspected the vehicle on the lift. He asked if I recently had the starter replaced. He proceeded to tell me there were bolts missing on the exhaust manifold and the ones that were still on were loose. Apparently the manifold had to be removed in order to get to the starter. It was not reinstalled correctly. The type of impact the car endured could not have affected the bolts connecting it. And because the manifold was lose and not secure, it could cause an exhaust leak. I didn't mention that the starter had been replaced when I brought the car in, so the fact that they noticed it right away with the car on the lift was telling. They literally said that whoever replaced it only put 2 out of 5 studs/nuts back on and they were so loose to that you can tighten them back with your hand. I know Rylan, Kip's assistant, had issues with the bolts because he had to go to the parts store to get new ones as the original ones were stripped. So I am assuming he just didn't have enough of them and ran out of time. But the fact that he didn't tell me and it appeared that he just did a rush job since it was late and wanted to get it done so we could all go home. He didn't take the time to replace all the bolts and secure them tightly. There is no way the minor incident I had could have affected this. I didn't contact Kip when I noticed the noise, poor performance, smell, and worse gas mileage because I am over 6 hours away from MB and did not want to drive that far with the state the car was in. I am just so disappointed that this happened. When the job was done, Kip wanted more money since it took longer than expected. Please be aware and careful before hiring this mobile mechanic. Caused more problems and more $$ out of pocket! read more

What a very good service.. Came down to take my daughter back to college..and both vehicles had minor issues.. Called when we got here and they were here next morning ....fixed a skid plate on VW Jetta and a power seat on Ford Explorer. All under an hour. Great guys to deal with and super super convenient. I highly recommend this service. Beats dragging your car to the mechanic and waiting several days to get it back...awesome idea. I dealt with and talked to Kip and he sent out a guy named Ray the next morning. Both were great. #BuddhaReview read more

Amazing experience with Kips He worked with me a few hours and his mechanic Jim told me to try something and I did and it didn't seam to work. Jim was going to buy a new fuel pump and I tried to start the car just for kicks and it started. I immediately called him back and told him it started. I offered to pay Kip for all the time he spent helping me and he said No !! He said glad we could help and wished me a good day. I would recommend Kip's Service to anyone needing an honest man. What an amazing feeling to meet an honest and caring business !!! read more

Nobody wants the call from their teenage kids 2 states away with car trouble on vacation. Kip to the rescue! Highly recommend. Thank you for the fast and friendly service. read more

unreliable, kept pushing back appointment then never showed up. Bad communication. Requested inspection and never got it

My car wouldn't start, called kips around 5-6pm. Josh came out and had a new starter installed and the car running beautifully by 8pm. Fast and friendly service, will be calling them again for any issues in the future! read more

Highly recommend Kips! They are very reasonable, prompt and affordable!

He immediately charged me to look at the vehicle after I explained I knew what part was needed he came and fixed. It was at my sisters place. I drove around the corner and it broke down again. It was a simple fix a cable for the shift gear as I was told by everyone. He came back out and supposedly repaired again but then it would not start he came back out asked for more money and states that it was another problem. Went to Steel City mechanics they were honest did not charge me for the look over and as it was the original problem repaired at minimal cost of $80.00. Meanwhile I got taken for $400.00 with the problem never fixed. I was so upset and disappointed. The convenience of them coming out was what got me to try. Hard lesson learn go somewhere trustworthy and reliable and who don't immediately say they need $ upfront to look at a vehicle. read more

Kip is amazing. We were on vacation when our battery light came on. Ran to walmart, replaced the battery, still on. Kip helped us diagnose it over the phone then found us an alternator and came to us to fix the car. He worked for several hours in the dark to replace our alternator so we could make it back home the next day. We called him at 6pm and our car was fixed by midnight... how is that for service?? I can't say enough about how awesome he is!!!! Highly recommend!! read more

Amazing service!!!! fabulous customer service!!!!! but more than anything else, Kip and team are truly kind people who love cars. I wish there is a 10 star option for me to give to Kip and the team! We were on our way down to Florida to attend a wedding on the weekend from Washington DC. We decided to stay in Myrtle Beach, SC for a few nights and the night before we leave for Florida, my car suddenly started to shake violently and I couldn't drive it anymore. I quickly stopped by at the auto zone and found out there were misfire issues with the car. I found Kip and called him immediately. It was 5pm and I thought it was going to be impossible to fix my car before heading out early the next morning. And it was amazing to find out how his service is 24/7. Again, it was 5PM (almost all mechanics were closed by this time!!!) but Kip sent one of his guys, Cameron, immediately and oh man he was amazing! I know I had misfire issues but Cameron found additional issues that were causing my car to shake. He did not just stopped at finding the problem but he was persistent in fixing the issues. By then it was already 9pm but he really wanted the car to be fixed so we can head down to Florida the next day to attend a wedding. And he fixed all the issues and now my car is running so much better than before. I was impressed with his professionalism and I was so moved by his dedication. In the meantime, Kip continue to check with me to make sure everything was ok. Man, I'm still so happy with their service and as I told my wife, this was truly a blessing of meeting. I'm sure one of the biggest headaches is issues with cars and we constantly worry about finding a good mechanic every time you have problem with your car. You don't need to look else where. People in the Myrtle beach area, you should be lucky to have Kip and Cameron in your area! Thank you again so much!!! Hope you guys continue to do great things for others!! read more

I needed a pre-buy inspection for a 1980 Corvette I'm buying in Little River. I am out of state, so I needed someone to be my eyes and look over the car on my behalf. Kip was very professional and responsive. The price he quoted was more than reasonable. He showed up right on time, gave me a clear and detailed report, and even sent pictures. I would strongly recommend Kip if professionalism and reliability are important to you. read more

I took a trip to Myrtle Beach this past weekend, On Sunday my car broke down and I needed an alternator. Me, my daughter and my 8 year old grandson were stuck in the car in the parking lot from 10:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. when they finally came to fix it. Turned out it was a bad alternator I called Kip at 10 o'clock the next morning to tell them we had the new alternator and he said somebody would be out soon we waited until 7:40 p.m. before somebody finally called to find out if I still needed anything after talking to them all day, They should never have said they would be there shortly and just never show up. On top of that I feel I was overcharged. read more

Came down to MB for a weekend getaway and unfortunately ended up having some car trouble. After going to a mainstream auto shop and them quoting me for the repair work ($1800+) I had to find another option! Found Kip and gave him a call and he assured me he could do the work for less than half the price I was quoted, called Saturday and he was there the next morning! (Needed an AC Compressor replaced btw.) He came and fixed it and everything is working great now and most importantly he helped me get back home safely! Great guy and I'd recommend him to everyone! read more

Sadly, I thought Kip's was going to save us. We had a squeal in the alternator and they quoted a fair price and I had them do the repair. Before they left I turned on the engine and it started, but none of the electrical was working. That alternator was bad, so we let them replace that one. After it was found to be bad too, we had enough and asked for a tow to the dealership. The driver came, found that the radiator hose was still disconnected and there was likely heavy computer damage to the vehicle system. Kip personally came out to look, but by that time we were done. He refused to issue any sort of refund, finally agreeing that we could take the bad part back and hope the retailer would give us the refund (they will not). Very, very bad experience and I cannot recommend them. read more

Our radiator developed a small leak and failed as we got into Myrtle Beach. I called Kip and was initially worried when the phone indicated that the voice mailbox full. About 2 minutes later I got a call back and he gave an estimate that was more than fair (far less than a dealer and better prices than my local repair shop). The next day he was on site at the hotel parking garage and had it replaced within a few hours. He was very friendly, honest, fast, and knowledgeable. He even noted another issue that he saw (one I was already aware of) and asked if I wanted him to take care of that as well. I wish Kip were available to be my normal mechanic. read more

I was on vacation with my family and on the way down here my air condition stopped working. NIGHTMARE! I have a 6 month old and there is no way I could drive home that way. I called Kip and he was here the next day. He diagnosed that it was my compressor and was able to replace it that day! What I appreciated was that I was given a reasonable price and I was able to support a small business. He was extremely kind and efficient. I felt very confident with him taking care of my car. Thank you Kip for saving my vacation! Highly recommended. read more

Awesome guy Very knowledgeable . He came to my house two hours later I have my car working again and very fairly priced thanks Kip

I really wanted to be able to follow the 5 star review that follow this business but I can't. After being given a quote of 80.00 which supposedly was to go towards whatever the repair bill might be, Kip suddenly changed his mind and tried to charge me 150.00 for a simple hose replacement. Only thing I can think of is he was angry that it was a small job and couldn't charge me much more. I found another mechanic who did the job for 60.00!. Way to go Kip!. I will give due credit to the mechanic, Justin. Who was just trying to do his job. I'm sry that we couldn't do business. I would hire you in a second. Very nice and personable. read more

Alternator broke on my car on a Sunday morning and my car was parked in a hotel parking deck. Was worried a mechanic would not be able to look at my car till Monday morning. Called Kip and he showed up fixed my car on the spot. Did not even have to tow my car to a shop. He was professional, fast, and reasonable. Would recommend him again. Thank you, Mr. Kip!! read more

I called Kip last night because my parking lights were on and I couldn't figure out how to turn them off(I did not turn them on!). I had already had a new battery put in because I had no idea that the parking lights had been left on. Even though it was late, he was willing to send his worker out to me to help!! I ended up figuring it out so I did not need him after all. I still think it was wonderful of him to want to help me even though it was so late! I would definitely use him another time. Good help is SO hard to find :) read more

Called Friday looking for availablity today(Saturday) was told he had two jobs that day(Friday), and might be able to get to me on Friday depending, if not first thing Saturday morning. Well Saturday morning came and went, got ahold of him at 10am, was to be here by 2:30pm due to van breaking down, didn't show up till 5pm. Lacking communication throughout; then forgot tools they needed in the other van their employee had. This made it so he wasn't able to check the fuses for my brake lights, THE MAIN ISSUE THAT NEEDED TO BE SOLVED! Re-placed rotor without much issue(but that wasn't the main reason they were called I figured kill two birds on stone). So he did the job that wasn't the most important because he forgot the proper tools(even knowing beforehand it could be brake switch or fuse, but he was pretty sure it was brake switch, which it wasn't.) so at 6:45pm he called his employee to come over and check the fuses with the proper tool, said he should be there shortly. Well autozone closes at 9pm and he doesn't tell me till 8:52 (after texting him multiple times) that there was an issue with the van. So instead of calling me, or answer the text messages(which he could answer all text and calls while he was here) he waits till 8 minutes before they close to communicate this to me. So not only did the job that was the main priority not get done due to lack of preparation, it's now cost me a day of work from their lack of communication, and I'm was still expected to get told what fuses or rely needed replacing, and do it myself..... the very thing they were contacted for. Horrible concept of time management, and communication, a day wasted, and a days play I lose tomorrow from having to finish their job. DO NOT WORK WITH IF TIMES ARE IMPORTANT TO YOU, cause they'll be showing up, and communicating when they feel like it, costing you time, money, and not even fix or at least give a general idea of the problem because they lacked the proper tools. Horrid. read more
