I love the fresh mex food here at Diego's. I went for lunch and I loved the fish tacos. They have TVs for watching games but I feel like the dining experience is more so that of a high end place. The staff is friendly and made sure my wife and I had our needs met and that the food was to our satisfaction. For anyone looking for some yummy south of the border style food that taste like everything on your plate came straight out of the market and not a can Diego's should be on your list. Yum! Second time visiting here, this time grabbed the last 2 seats at the bar as it was already a 30 minute wait for a table at barely 5:30 on a Saturday night. yeah, this is a good place. The flank steak i had was medium sized but it was very good. I usually like a big steak but this medium sized steak was so good I felt satisfied. Along with it were vegetables that were fresh not some frozen junk. Service was excellent. Only problem I have with Diego's relates to problems I have with loud noise, so if you're like me and you like a quiet place, this is not it. Not sure why so many people have to be so loud, yelling and things at their tables, but it just kills me. That's not Diego's fault. A friend of mine who also has issues with noise cannot go there, but then he can't go ANYWHERE, everything bothers us both. If you want a really good steak you'll like Diegos. Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in the Bend, Redmond, Sisters Area the sangria was delicious, perfect balance of wine, brandy, fruit juices. We had the appetizer seafood cervechi. We are on vacation and had asked around to some local store employees where there was some good Mexican food and this place was there answer. Well as soon as we walked in we were about to turn right back around and walk out! Very first thing you see is a bar! It did not look family friendly. I had to ask a waiter if kids were allowed. And yes they are. There are about a dozen or more tables down the side of the establishment, it's a very dark more of a bar/ night club feel. We were there at about 5pm and it was not too busy, but by the time we left at about 7ish there was a line out the door. We have two young children and the kids menu was American food then Mexican, so that was disappointing. My kids love a good tamale, but I would have to say this was by far not one. My steak fajitas was very good! Steak was amazing! Great seasoning! But overall it's pretty pricy for a family dinner, I would say more of a date night with someone special, or a few drinks with friends. We visited Diego's on August 1st when we were staying at Eagle Crest for our 10th anniversary. We weren't disappointed! We started with forest mushroom and pepper jack quesadillas as an appetizer that was incredible! For entrees we had halibut tacos and Pollo Chipotle. The PC was so delicious! The tacos were great too. Our server Cody was obviously a career, professional server. He was the epitome of customer service, paying attention to small details such as lemon in a separate dish for the ice water and replacing the forks at appropriate times. He surprised us with a complimentary slice of blueberry cobbler cheesecake for our anniversary. It was delicious! We can't wait to visit Diego's again someday! read more

We heard good things and decided to make the drive from Bend. Started with the Tex Mex Spring Rolls. The bourbon sauce IMHO overpowered the pulled pork. On to the mole chicken. Most restaurants serving a traditional chicken mole enchiladas start with shredded chicken rolled in a tortilla covered in mole, cheese, sour cream with Spanish rice and beans on the side. Diego's serves the dish with pieces of chicken covered in mole. How about a whole chicken Breast guys verses chicken pieces that look like McNuggets? The tortillas are served on the side but this dish simply does not work in its current form (and close to $20 bucks?). The mole was mediocre with retried black beans and some kind of green rice on the side. Drinks were fine. Wife had the carnitas raviolis. Four stars out of five from the wife. Margaritas were fine, chips and salsa ok. read more

Food very good and portions are very large...but pricey. Most things are $20 and the drinks are $12. The deluxe nachos appetizer is enough to make a meal for 4 people. I had a "pick 3" of traditional Mexican items for $20 (2 tacos and enchilada), which came with a small salad (on the same plate) and a lot of beans. It was very tasty and a lot to eat. A side salad proved to be "meal" sized and was more than we really wanted. Everybody in our party of 4 loved their food. Our waiter was inattentive and it was impossible to get his attention for more hot sauce or another drink. The manager was nice when she came around to ask how things were and said she would speak to the waiter so that was probably a one-time anomaly. Recommended. read more

We came here for dinner last night. I am torn in my review because the food was delicious but very expensive and our waiter was very nice but not attentive. After we were seated we got our drink order taken and I got my beer but it took a very long time for our waiter to come back and take our order. Had we not ordered drinks, we would have left and gone somewhere else because it was taking that long for our waiter to come back. He finally came and took our order, we got our food and it was delish! I had shrimp and spinach enchiladas and husband had coconut shrimp tacos. We had eaten most of our meal and were ready for boxes before the waiter ever came back to our table. He did not check in with us at all after we got our food. Husband ordered dessert which we got very quickly and then we waited and waited for our bill. I told my husband to have the payment ready because I didn't want to wait 20 minutes to pay for our meal after we got the bill. We had two dinners, one beer and one dessert and it cost $60. The dessert was more expensive than my beer. We will be here several days and won't be back during our trip due to service and price. read more
