We were in the middle of setting up our trailer at Burnt Rancheria Campground for a several day stay when the trailer keys got locked inside the trailer with the truck keys. We called AAA, and Gregg from Dick's Towing contacted us enroute. He initially said that he didn't have the tools for opening the trailer and that we would need a locksmith, but that he could at least open up our locked pickup so the two of us and our two dogs could wait inside while waiting for a locksmith to come up the mountain. Did I mention it was Memorial Day? Anyway, Gregg arrived about 7:15 p.m. after a one hour wait and was super enthusiastic. He had thought about how we could have locked ourselves out of an RV, and said he would try to open the door. Two minutes later, and the door was open! We had locked the door handle which stays locked if you shut the door from outside. But the deadbolt wasn't locked so he was able to jimmy it without any damage, something he had seen before. My wife and I gave him a huge hug. We would have probably had to spend the night in the truck before a locksmith could get there, and that could have cost several hundred dollars. No food, no heat, two dogs... Gregg was epic! Huge shout out to Dick's! read more

Dick's Towing Service - Bob with Gregg after Gregg's awesome trailer break in! - Towing Near Me - Guatay, California

I can't say enough good things about Matt and Dick's Towing Service. We ended up stranded on a mountain in a really difficult situation, and Matt went above and beyond to come out and help us. He was professional, extremely helpful, patient, and made a stressful situation feel so much easier. Matt didn't just do his job and leave -- he genuinely cared about making sure we were safe and taken care of. His response, communication, and willingness to help were incredible, especially considering how difficult our location was. If you ever find yourself needing a tow or roadside assistance, I highly recommend asking for Matt. He's the kind of person you're grateful to have show up when you're having a bad day. Dick's Towing is lucky to have someone like him on their team! Thank you again, Matt, for getting us out of a tough situation! read more

Tech very helpful, understanding and nice. Highly recommend, he came out in less than 15 mins to capital road and towed my lifted jeep to la mesa to my home. Had to change address in the process as mechanic was closed and it was no problem. Was very careful and understanding. You will not be disappointed. read more

I called AAA the assigned to Dick Towing. After 30 minutes i called Dick's toeing sns Spoke with Sandy and she said she had no record of order from AAA. I merged the with AAA. She then acknowledged receiving the order. 90 minutes later no truck truck. I again called her with AAA on the line. She again said she had no record of the order from AAA. AAA reminded her of the order. She said she was too busy and hung up. read more

Started tow request through AAA on a Sunday, received quick dispatch & accurate ETA. Dexter was friendly and professional, quickly running our License/AAA and getting the car neatly loaded on his truck. No issues getting the car home (53 miles) promptly and safely. Made our weekend a heck of a lot easier not worrying about finding a shop to tow us. Thanks Dexter! read more

Due to "Leo" will not use this company again, for myself, nor my commercial which I was planning to do. I'm Glad I had opportunity to see how they are after hours. Go with ASAP Towing, Night and Day difference ! To owner: As a business owner myself, I would terminate Leo, he is hurting your business that you worked so hard to establish!!! read more

Had a relative have their car towed after being taken to the hospital. I called to try and pay for the fees which came to $390 when I asked if there was a way to make payments or reduce the rate because this was serious and unexpected medical emergency the owner proceeded to lecture me on their bills they have to pay and their entire payroll process. Unprofessional and unnecessary. A simple yes or no response would have been suffice. When I called back to make the payment they refused to take any sort of payment over the phone. I guess they don't really care about all those bills that much. Also, considering the current pandemic how are you not making contactless pay an option at this point? Horrible experience all together read more

I needed my car towed to El Cajon Kia and I am in Pine Valley and am a huge believer of supporting local businesses so I had my insurance call Dick's Towing first before their companies that they recommend. I get that companies can charge whatever they feel like but Dick's wanted to charge me over $400 for a tow to El Cajon that is a total of 25 miles. You can guess my answer. NO! Had another tow company come up the hill, only to drive back down the hill (instead of being local) and it was $195. Needless to say, I DO NOT recommend Dick's Towing and it really sucks that as much as their neighbors want to support them, THEY DON'T SUPPORT THEIR NEIGHBORS. read more

worst service ever old man kept interrupting me I said the word god damn and he canceled me and didn't tell anyone so I waited 1 1/2 hours just to find out he's not coming obviously they don't want new customers read more

I would like to start out that there are two tow companies by the name of Dick's. One is a AAA contract company in Descanso,CA. the other Dick's is in Campo and is not associated with AAA. I made the mistake of calling Dick's from Campo directly as the initial tow that was called had no trucks available. While they are not AAA, our driver was very professional and took care of our tire change quickly. I only gave 3 stars as when I ordered the tow, I was only told that I would have to pay cash or credit. No indication that it was not a AAA contract tow company. The dispatcher could have advised me at the time of my call and saved my inconvinience. read more

Never had an issue with drivers from this company. Always had someone courteous willing to go above and beyond to finish the job right. Ive come across many hard working drivers through the years and know there are hard days.. though again they get their job done leaving the customer satisfied. Tonights driver was the complete opposite. Rushed/ blantantly unaccomidating. Assisting to properly adjust a small sedan in a spot is too daunting for some these days. read more

Yesterday at Viejas casino we flagged down a dicks tow truck and asked him if he could help us blow up a friends wheelchair wheel, he happily obliged and we were back up and going! He didn't have too but that was very nice, I use this company for my towing needs often and their customer service is always great. I highly recommend read more

This place is garbage, and the people there are extremely rude they don't even know what they are doing and always seem lost and confused.

My 2012 Buick Enclave's brakes went out Saturday May 27 2017, Memorial Day weekend. USAA roadside assist called 2 tow companys & after waiting 4 hrs. no one showed up. Called Tuesday after holiday weekend, same story 2 more tow company's either cancelled or just didn't show. To complicate matters my cellphone has no service here in Descanso! Finally called Dick's Towing on my laptop & Dennis from Dick's had me towed in less than an hour, and was super helpful too! read more

horrible experience here. I was in a motorcycle accident and was picked up by an ambulance. My bike was towed to this company. I get out of the hospital, take a day to recover and call the company to ask how to go about getting my bike back. The owner of the company says I owe $265 plus $55 for every day my bike is in the lot. I asked the owner if there was any way to avoid paying the additional $55 fee and he FREAK OUT on me, started CUSSING and yelling about how I don't understand ANYTHING about how towing works. I was shocked! I did not deserve that kind of response. read more

GARBAGE!!!! NEVER WORK WITH THEM!!! theyre named dicks for a reason. Horrible company, absolute trash. They towed a suburban that i bought and they crashed it through a tree while it was on the tow truck. The tow truck driver also unloaded the suburban halfway in my driveway with the hood sticking out in the middle of the street, and refused to unload it properly. The manager spoke to me on the phone and was very rude and even cursed me when i asked for it to be unloaded properly. Also, the next day i got a ticket. read more

A great big shout out to Dexter. He saved me from a big predicament with my 2015 Kia. I ran over a rock and got lodged where I couldn't get loose. He was a master with a jack and railroad ties. In 20 minutes my Kia was free. Thank you my friend! read more

Had a blow out heading home to Descanso, with 2 kids and 2 dogs in the car ‍ Called AAA and they dispatched Dicks Towing. Brian showed up within a half hour. I've been towed a few times by Dick's and would gladly call them again. Thanks Brian!! read more

I got a flat on my motorcycle near Lake Cuyamaca on highway 79 on a Saturday morning. I called AAA and they said a driver would be dispatched within an hour. Brian from Dick's Towing showed up in less than an hour. I had no idea that I'd have to have it towed 50 miles to San Diego to get the tire fixed. We had to get about halfway down the mountain before I had a decent enough signal to call around. This was the first time I had my bike towed so I was a little anxious about the whole process. Brian was awesome. He was careful with my bike and thorough in making sure it was secured properly. And he's a pretty cool dude on top of that. It wasn't exactly how I planned on spending my Saturday, but I really couldn't have asked for a better experience. read more

These guys responded quickly with AAA. I was towed and dropped off less than 30 minutes. My driver (forgot his name) was really cool down to earth and friendly. It's bad enough I was already having a crappy day. Overall, great experience. read more

If your car ever breaks down on Interstate 8 in San Diego County, call Dick's Towing. The first towing company my insurance called hadn't arrived and I had been waiting over an hour. I finally had Internet/phone connection and searched for towing companies. I called Dick's and within 30 minutes our car was on the tow truck and we were on our way to the mechanic. Sean was the nicest driver and so knowledgeable. The lady who took my call was also very sweet. They actually cared and provided excellent service. I highly recommend Dick's Towing. read more

Was heading out for an Independence Day camping/off-roading trip. My husband was in the lead with the travel trailer, I was towing my son's Jeep on a trailer, and my son was driving hubby's Jeep in front of me. Failure of the passenger side hub and break of the axle shaft had my son on 3 wheels with no brakes. Everyone got to the shoulder ok and Brian from Dick's was there in no time. Got the Jeep on the truck and had us off the shoulder and home safe and sound. Thank you Brian! read more

Had Dexter pick up my car and tow to my mechanic. He was very considerate of our property and backed down the driveway instead of turning around in our field so as to not damage our leech lines with his truck. He let us know there was no need to follow him as it was after hours and the mechanic was already closed. He followed up with a phone call to let me know he had deposited the key in the dropbox. Would highly recommend him and will request him in future. Thank you Dexter! read more

Just received great customer service! We got a flat outside of Descanso. We put the spare on but it was flat. Dick's towing was called via AAA and we were told it would be 40+ minutes. Henry showed up within 20. Filled the tire and sent us on our way. Fantastic!!! Thank you! read more

This company responded to my call to roadside assistance. I stupidly locked my keys in my trunk after a hike at Stonewall Peak. I was parked at Paso Picacho campground, nearly an hour from the city. It did take over an hour and a half for the truck to show up after my call, but part of that was probably due to the go-between b/w the insurance company and the tow truck dispatch. Anyway, Brian from Dick's towing went out of his way to help me. He unlocked the car quickly, but we were having trouble getting into the trunk after realizing the back seats didn't fold down/ no lever. He removed the bolts on the back seat and basically crawled into a tiny hole into the trunk to get the keys. I had no good alternative and Brian went above and beyond in my book. I was extremely grateful for his help. read more
