I love how organized the Dick's Sporting Goods store is from the first floor to the second floor. I didn't see one item out of place which is quite impressive in a retail store. I was looking for specific items for my son that he needs for his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class. The staff didn't mind pausing what they were doing to assist me in locating the items. The prices were very reasonable for products. I was truly impressed with the layout. I will definitely be back. read more

I definitely liked this particular sporting goods store.The store was very clean and spacious the decor was very modern as well. I was looking for a certain type of new balance sneaker that they had , but it was not in the color I wanted. The young man that worked there was very friendly and helpful. They greeted me and my family as soon as we came in the section. I will definitely go back to this particular sports shop in the future especially when the weather breaks or when I take my son to chuck'y cheese that's located right next door. read more

My first time at this location. I generally like Dick's but it also depends on the location. This store has alot more outdoor stuff than the ones in Queens for example. It is in the Green Acres Mall site so there is plenty of parking. Overall it can get busy though. They are right next door to Walmart even though there is a fence separating the store, it still gets busy. The store itself is pretty big as well. Two levels of clothes, and outdoor equipment. I came here to check out the fishing stuff and they had a decent selection but there were some empty shelves either because it was late in the season or because of the pandemic. Staff here were very helpful and nice as well. One of my favorite Dick's stores so far. read more

I went in looking for roller blade wheels to replace my old and crusty ones from 2003. Parked right out front and on the walk in an associate asked me if I needed help. I didn't get his name and I'm not sure if I saw a name tag. Anyway that was nice. He was helping someone at the register with a big box and told me to wait upstairs & said that he might have what I needed. I waited very patiently about ten minutes and looked at the kettle bells but didn't buy anything. He sincerely apologized and we looked at what he had and it wasn't what I needed. Then he said check at a skate shop. I'm like where is the skate shop and he's like where do you live- I say in the area he says idk. Lol. I'm like let's measure my wheels- and I pull out my tape measure from my key chain and he helps me eyeball the diameter. That's it- then I left and googled where I could buy replacement rollerblade wheels in the size I needed. I would have liked a recommendation or a let's order this online but the guy said it wasn't possible however, he was rather pleasant and the store was very clean. read more

I went to this store to pick up an online order. Store requires everyone to wear a mask and keep social distance. The floor is clearly marked with the social distancing signs. The online pick up location is clearly marked and easily to be seen as it is right at the entrance by the parking lot. The staff is very friendly and pays prompt attention to my needs. Walk in and put within 5 minutes. Only complaint is that the checkout line is long and not too many counters are open as far as I can see. read more

Ordered an item and 3 days later is was canceled with no explanation. When I called I was told it was a screw up in the system and they would reordered it for me. It Was Available Both Times or my credit card wouldn't go through and I would not have 2 invoice numbers. I was also told on the phone how many were still available. Well they canceled my order again and this time nobody told me. I found out by tracking my order. There Customer Service Is Horrible. Only One Person Really Helped Me. I write this after being in the store several times and having the same experience. The customer service in this store is awful, with the exception of the greeter at the front door. The greeter has never missed a hello and goodbye with a smile on his face. As for the rest, no help. Today, I had a customer service person not even say hello after I said Hi. I thought to myself, I'm going to speak to her again so I lightheartedly said "those alarms are so loud," because you can't walk anywhere in the women's Nike section with a constant alarm going off. Think she smiled or laughed or spoke? Nope. Lol cool. Each experience at this store is the same. I appreciate all staff is wearing masks and prioritizing the heath and safety of their customers and team members. I spoke with a support staff member on the phone yesterday afternoon in regards to a curbside pick-up and he was very helpful as well as extremely friendly. When my mother and I got to this store this afternoon we pulled up to the curbside pick-up and called the store. I came in contact with about 4 different Dick's Sporting Goods employees and each one was as helpful as the next. I had to run in and purchase another item to help bring my previous purchase home. Again, everyone was helpful, friendly and courteous. Today is a very tough and sad day for my family and and without even knowing this they all went above and beyond to help us. We could not have done this without their help. I recommend shopping at this sporting store for any of your needs. So glad to see a Dicks come to this area. Modells is a joke so I don't have to ride out to Garden City anymore. The staff was on point here. They were very helpful and attentive. First of all, the Dick's in Green Acres is a great store, my complaint is that is doesn't support the sporting community. We have over 10 youth football organizations within the immediate radius of the store. And this is the only store we have to shop for football equipment. I was told by an employee the store doesn't carry much football equipment because it doesn't cater to the sport. Well, if you want to stay in business in our community you should reconsider catering to the sports in the area which happens to be FOOTBALL. I shouldn't have to look for a youth black helmet all over the NYC area, or cleats in a size 6 or 6.5/7 for youth. It's unacceptable. Until corporate makes the arrangements, I will continue to shop in NJ or in Long Island at Sports Depot who cares about our sporting community. Do better Dick's or why bother being in our community. read more

This store's employees and supervisor/manager in Valley Stream NY have very little knowledge of the merchandise they sell. The "no flat" basketball I purchased yesterday was flat, so I drove back out to return and exchange for another ball. The supervisor looked at the ball and tried to accuse me of puncturing it. I told them that I spoke to the manufacturer who said that it was "a manufacturer's default", "the balls are sold inflated", and that "inflating this ball at home would void its warranty", so I "should return it to the store right away for a refund or exchange." They processed the return and we went to pick out a different ball. Then, my son decided that he wanted basketball sleeves (to keep his shooting arm warm during the game), so we buy a pair. They come two in a box and have a store security tag pinned to both sleeves inside the closed box. We did not realize this until we came home and pull the sleeves out of the box. Well, they forgot to remove the tag and now we have to drive back to the store to have the security tag removed. read more

So I'm in the store now for approximately 25 minutes no one is assisting me. I finally come across a person who i thought was a staff but was a customer. funny he thought i worked at Dick's and was going to ask me fir assistance because he too was walking around without assistance. As a result I finally come down the escalator and myself the person who I had met upstairs as well as two other customers we're waiting in line to bombard this poor lady with questions because there was nobody upstairs to assist us . I found out that the young lady name was Brandy she was a very vibrant young lady who seem to be very knowledgeable and quick to assist thank God for Brandy at Dicks in Valley Stream. Wanted to report that every last Nightcrawler in the fridge at this place was dead. Not only dead but the containers in which they were held in molded approximately 12 containers filled with dirt mold and stinky nightcrawlers. I've shopped here before for fishing equipment but never bait. When I shopped here then I was assisted almost immediately. I don't know what happened to those staff members. My husband needed work out clothes and we stopped in the brand new Dicks Sporting Goods store in green acres mall Saturday night. For someone who tries to stay away from the rundown and depressed looking Green Ares Mall... WOW! How refreshing! Such a beautiful store! That's not even the best part. The staff was amazing and GENUINELY nice. Whomever did the recruiting for this store I give you an A++. I was speaking to an associate because we weren't able to find larger sizes for men in the store and he brought us over to a kiosk with a touch screen tablet and helped us search the Dicks website. He didn't just point us to the direction, he actually searched for what we were looking for! Also, I was with a restless 9 year old who was making it impossible for me to speak to this associate and another employee came over and took him for me and showed him something he was interested in. How wonderful!!! As for clothing, hubby is a big guy who needs Big and tall workout clothes and unfortunately Dicks does not offer clothes for Big & Tall men which is unfortunate since it is extremely hard to find proper workout attire in his size. Not the fault of this actual store but something this community needs. Will we be back? Absolutely! My husband plays golf, and loves to fish and Dicks has a variety of products for every sport.
